Or maybe think that a 20/8/7 average on 45% fg and 20% 3pt with a losing record, worst/negative plus minus on team (only one game in that span with a small positive) and not even one full steal or block per game since the last update, isn’t worthy of a 95 OVR?

It's more the sheer amount of posts you've dedicated to the subject in the last few years. I can't think of any other reason his rating is such an obsession for you.

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS (3-3 since last update)
          86 (-2) Paul George
          82 (-1) Jared McCain
          79 (+1) Guerschon Yabusele
          75 (+1) KJ Martin
          74 (+1) Reggie Jackson
          73 (-1) Eric Gordon
          73 (+1) Ricky Council IV

Embiid hasn't played since Nov 20th (missed this entire update cycle) - he is still an active / non-injured Sixer however.

Paul George played only two games this cycle (one of which was easily his best offensive game of the season, 29 points on 10-16 FG, w/ 8 assists, albeit against the Hornets), so his drop is more reflective of his overall performance this season now that we're six weeks in.
At 16.7 PER and 53 TS%, this is the 34-year old's worst season since his first 3 years w/ the Pacers (Age 20-22).

McCain had a brief cold spell and moved back to the bench in a sixth man role (he will start B2Bs when George sits).
          For this cycle: 18.5 PPG, 2.2 APG, 32.9 MPG, 45.5 FG%, 33.3 3PT%

          Yabusele started all six games this cycle: 11.2 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2.3 APG, 32.6 MPG, 46.3 FG%, 38.5 3PT%

KJ Martin appears to have taken the starting PF job from Caleb Martin (at least until Yabu can slide back to PF).

Eric Gordon continues to plummet: 23.8 FG% and 9.1 3PT% in 4 games this cycle
          Overall: 32.5 FG%, 23.8 3PT% for the 36-year old.

Reggie Jackson and Ricky Council IV re-emerged as a rotation players, they haven't been as dismal as Gordon.

          --------------------------------

As a bit of an aside, despite their struggles, the Sixers roster is collectively +10 OVR since the start of the year. 2K will quickly give a massive boost to the hot new player, but will be very slow to bring down an injured / aging / declining player.

          Rating Changes since 9/4/24
          +12 McCain
          +5 Yabusele
          +1 Lowry
          +1 KJ Martin
+1 Caleb Martin (he is UP despite 41 FG%, 29 3PT%, and losing his starting job)
          -1 Embiid
          -1 Oubre
          -2 Drummond
          -3 George
          -3 Gordon

MILWAUKEE BUCKS (5-1 since last update)
              98 (+1) Giannis Antetokounmpo
              91 (+2) Damian Lillard
              82 (+2) Brook Lopez
              81 (+1) Bobby Portis

The Bucks are back baby! Or, at least they got to the easy part of their schedule.

              This Cycle (11/21 - 12/4)
              Giannis: 34 PPG, 10 RPG, 8 APG, 34 MPG (63 FG%, 67 FT%)
              Dame: 28 PPG, 4 RPG, 8 APG, 36 MPG (49 FG%, 49 3PT%, 95 FT%)
              Lopez: 11 PPG, 5 RPG, 2 APG, 34 MPG (51 FG%, 41 3PT%)
              Portis: 11 PPG, 6 RPG, 2 APG, 23 MPG (44 FG%, 48 3PT%)
              Prince (No Update): 11 PPG, 3 RPG, 26 MPG (62 FG%, 70 3PT%)
              Trent (No Update): 11 PPG, 3 RPG, 27 MPG (45 FG%, 47 3PT%)

Khris Middleton is set to debut Friday. Taurean Prince currently leads the league with 55.6 3PT% (shot 16 for 23 3PT this cycle), he should keep the starting role and allow Middleton ease his way back.

Trent has also bounced back from his early season nightmare (which can likely be attributed to a shoulder injury).

Pat Connaughton fell out of the rotation (only played two games this cycle)

Speaking of Pat Connaughton. I saw a stat that they were 6-0 when he doesn't play [emoji23]. That's pretty bad

I think that's more reflective that they went on a 7-game win streak.
He had 10 pts, 8 rebs (4-8 FG) in 21 mins in their win against Miami.

In general his shooting has slipped over the last 3 years, and his defense in his 30s isn't going to be the difference maker that Andre Jackson's is. Kind of in "jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none" territory which is tough for an NBA guard. It's likely better to run with Green or Jackson depending on the matchup, rather than split the difference.

Re: 3rd Official NBA 2K25 Player Ratings Update - 12.5.24

This is a lower impact update in part because Thanksgiving reduced the number of games.
Across the first five teams, there were 38 Rating updates last update. That number is down to 21 for this update.

CHICAGO BULLS (3-3 since last update)
                      82 (-1) Coby White
                      80 (+1) Josh Giddey
                      77 (+1) Ayo Dosunmu
                      75 (+2) Torrey Craig
                      73 (+1) Matas Buzelis

Matas Buzelis PT has increased due to Patrick Williams' injury
                      This Cycle: 10.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1.2 BPG, 19.8 MPG (48.9 FG%, 37.5 3PT%)

Julian Phillips is the Bulls' 7th man yet sits at 72 OVR - 2K can't seem to figure out how to boost his OVR. He's started the last two games.

                      --------------------------

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (3-2 since last update)
                      80 (+1) Ty Jerome
                      73 (-1) Sam Merrill
                      73 (+1) Craig Porter Jr

Cleveland's kryptonite is apparently the Atlanta Hawks, whom they lost consecutive games to.

Jerome is +8 OVR on the season.

Merrill struggled with his shot (36 FG%, 32 3PT%) in 5 games this cycle but he's still playing 19-20 MPG for the #1 team in the NBA.

73 OVR is the same OVR Eric Gordon has - Merrill hasn't fallen anywhere near that far. There just isn't any consistency. 2K tries to do these things by feel but they're out of touch and disconnected from the players in the 200-400 range.

                      ------------------------

BOSTON CELTICS (6-1 since last update)
                      85 (-1) Jrue Holiday
                      82 (+1) Payton Pritchard

                      This cycle:
                      Jrue Holiday: 9.0 PPG, 3.8 APG, 32.8 MPG (32.6 FG%, 19.2 3PT%)
                      Payton Pritchard: 19.1 PPG, 3.3 APG, 28.9 MPG (52.2 FG%, 43.8 3PT%)

Holiday's offense has fallen off a cliff. He is struggling with a knee injury and has missed the last two games.

Pritchard is re-enforcing his Sixth Man of the Year candidacy.

                      Kristaps Porzingis made his return: 21 PPG, 8 RPG, 27 MPG, 49 FG%, 36 3PT%
His play through 4 games is on par with what he did last season (if not better on a per minute basis)

Jaylen Brown is shooting 6% worse from the field since last season but somehow has gone UP in rating since the season started...

Re: 3rd Official NBA 2K25 Player Ratings Update - 12.5.24

LA CLIPPERS (5-3 since last update)
                        86 (+2) James Harden
                        77 (-1) Kris Dunn
                        74 (+4) Jordan Miller

Harden's finishing ability has cratered (only 42 2PT%), but he still provides Playmaking, FT Drawing, and 3PT scoring to keep the Clippers afloat in a competitive West. His performance is not dissimilar from what Chris Paul did for OKC a few years ago.
                        Last two weeks: 24.3 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 8.1 APG, 1.8 SPG, 32.1 MPG (39.1 FG%, 36.8 3PT%, 95.1 FT%)

Dunn was only 3-19 3PT (15.8%) over the last two weeks.

Jordan Miller emerged as a rotation player amidst all the wing injuries.
                        Last two weeks (8 games): 8.8 PPG, 18.8 MPG (50.8 FG%, 28.6 3PT%)

Terance Mann is having surgery on a fractured finger, so Miller's role should maintain.

                        -----------------------------------

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (5-1 since last update)
                        91 (+1) Ja Morant
                        81 (+2) Marcus Smart
80 (-3) Desmond Bane (Badge Update)
79 (+2) Scotty Pippen Jr (Badge Update)
                        79 (+1) Santi Aldama
                        78 (+2) Jaylen Wells
                        77 (+1) Jake LaRavia

Ja Morant has been at All-Star form since returning from his recent injury.
                        4 games: 24.8 PPG, 7.5 APG, 27.5 MPG (51 FG%, 35 3PT%, 86 FT%)

Smart also returned from injury, and has been effective in a bench role:
                        5 games: 11.6 PPG, 5.6 APG, 2.2 SPG, 22.6 MPG (43 FG%, 38 3PT%)

Bane is mired in a deep shooting slump. His 31.9 3PT% on the season is nearly 10 points worse than his career average (41.0%). He'll probably shake loose at some point.
                        6 Games: 10.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 4.0 APG, 27.2 MPG (39 FG%, 25 3PT%, 73 FT%)
                        BADGE TOTAL: 9 (-2)
GOLD: Set Shot Specialist, Slippery Off-Ball
SILVER: Deadeye (-1), Limitless Range, Shifty Shooter (-1)
BRONZE: Float Game (-1), Layup Mixmaster (-1), Off-Ball Pest, Physical Finisher (-1)
REMOVE: Lightning Launch (-1), Pick Dodger (-1)

Pippen had a career high 30 points (13-16 FG) against the Bulls, as well as 19 pts against DET in his other start. He's effective in however many minutes he gets.
                        6 Games (2 Starts): 10.5 PPG, 4.7 APG, 1.2 SPG, 19.8 MPG
                        BADGE TOTAL: 7 (+2)
                        SILVER: Versatile Visionary (+1)
BRONZE: Bail Out (ADD), Break Starter, Dimer (ADD), Glove, Interceptor, Pick Dodger

Jaylen Wells did not relinquish his starting spot upon Smart's return, and has continued to shoot the ball well (helping to counteract Bane's struggles).
                        6 Games: 13.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, 23.5 MPG (52 FG%, 42 3PT%)

On the deep margins, Cam Spencer dropped 51 points in his last GLG game (18-24 FG, 12-15 3PT), we can probably add another Two-Way / Deep Draft find to MEM's extensive list. Likely a long-term replacement for Luke Kennard.

                          73 (-1) Eric Gordon
                          73 (+1) Ricky Council IV

Yabu needed more love. Think his 3 should have been increased more. I'm giving up constant offensive rebounds so they got that right lol

Yabusele has an 84 3PT Rating, which is highest on the team.

                              89 (+1) Trae Young
                              86 (+2) Jalen Johnson

                              73 (+1) Kobe Bufkin

Atlanta upset the Cavs twice + ended the Bucks winning streak.

Johnson is establishing himself as a 2nd star
                              Last two weeks: 22.4 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 5.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 1.3 BPG, 36.3 MPG (59 FG%, 42 3PT%)

Hunter has looked great in a bench role, and should give Payton Pritchard a run for his money for Sixth Man of the Year. Risacher is the starter in name only.
                              Last two weeks: 18.9 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 28.6 MPG (51 FG%, 43 3PT%, 93 FT%)

We know 2K always has the 2-3 players they favor or dislike no matter what. In Brown’s case, do you think he is getting the benefit of the higher rating due to being on an elite team or is it simply lack of data crunching?
