I work in college athletics and seeing this gets me so amped.

Would love to see 2K get it and remaster the recruiting from CHOOPS 2K8 ( my favorite game of all time). The offline gameplay of NBA 2k25 is simply incredible, just give me that gameplay with a college basketball skin, a revamped create a class option with better realistic recruits, and I’ll be estactic. Let’s not forget about the women either, women’s college basketball would be a necessary part of this. 2k has already done a great job with the WNBA, just mirror that for women’s ball. If this becomes official, the wait for me personally would be agonizing.

Let's not forget the legendary 'Import a Draft Class' feature from franchise modes past. The horrible generated draft classes of NBA 2k could be a thing of the past

This likely wouldn't happen as we've seen with CFB '25 and Madden '25. This is due to CFB now using real players and there's some sort of issue due to CFB having NIL deals with the players and those deals don't transfer over to Madden.

Let's not forget the legendary 'Import a Draft Class' feature from franchise modes past. The horrible generated draft classes of NBA 2k could be a thing of the past

As much as 2k has been a let down in recent years they have always been miles ahead of EA Sports in terms of Franchise features and customization options. We'll see what they end up doing.

No doubt. College Hoops 2k8 wasn’t perfect but it was one of the best sports games ever made. 2k has the blueprint, there isn’t a need to reinvent the wheel. Just make a game similar to 2k8 with updated gameplay and graphics

In 2Ks case I would expect the players to be made with 2K caps anyway so it wouldn’t be the biggest hurdle to recreate them in NBA 2K. But man, a proper draft import along with the NBA Draft Combine from NBA 2K21s MyCareer would be a dream come true.

I’m sure there is legalese that most of us could never understand. I do remember a few years ago though when 2K added Paulo Banchero, Chet Holmgren and a bunch of other 1st rounders to the current game while they were still in college. That’s why I think it’s more on the individuals than the NBAPA but who knows. 2K could put Cooper Flagg in 2K25 today if they payed him. I don’t see how doing it on a larger scale is different.

Then again MyTeam does have some stipulations that the other modes don’t like Kobe not being in it this year because his family supposedly didn’t want him in it.

In my backyard janky lawyer mind I don’t see how if 2K payed players like 500$ to be in the college game then they couldn’t also have an option to pay them 500$ more if they allowed their likeness to be exported to NBA 2K. So if players agree to the 1000$ payout then they’re paid for being in both games. Most of the players won’t sniff the NBA but they’re paid for it just in case. College Basketball has about half the players as EA college football.

I don't believe it, but if they do it justice with decent aspects of... strategy for games, strategy for longer term, recruiting, and other college-related stuff, it could be one of the best games ever. I will buy it no questions asked and at least find something decent about it. 2k I WILL BUY IT NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I'd pay 100, but that's my limit. Still, no lie. We are thirsty!


I hope they have an option to turn off all that transfer portal NIL stuff. Tho college is still cool, it is more like pro now. I really miss 2k8, still my fav offline bball game ever. I can't even imagine how many hours I put in.

This is another reason 2k is better positioned to make the game. They have the rights to nba players and former ones too, they could easily implement them into a mode that works between both a college hoops and NBA game

I would love to see composure and home court advantage played up even more than before. I know its a bigger deal in college football. CH2K8 had the 6th man advantage but I'd love to visually see the crowds get really rowdy and amped up.
