But, if they add specific features, I'd buy it again.

When it comes to 2k, I typically bought the game on sale around Black Friday every other year. But, I got to a point where I'm done with 2k. I just don't care for the direction of the series and don't see it changing. Would competition help, I guess it would. But, I don't have no consideration that EA is getting back into the sim Basketball market. If not EA, then who. These other AAA publishers aren't jumping into the Sports market
I play a lot of other games, too. I game on everything but the PC. I think that's part of the reason why I still enjoy NBA 2K every year. This year alone played through Indiana Jones, AC Shadows, South of Midnight and The Sinking City. Variety is the spice of life.

Not only that but I still jump on to older 2Ks from time to time. College Hoops 2K8 gets some burn every few months. I have been playing 2K21 next gen the past few weeks. I love throwing alleys to John Collins with Trae Young and not having that damn button to time! It gives me some perspective on where 2K has improved and where they still have work to do. Going off memory, 2K25 doesn't seem like a huge leap from 2K21. Play Bucks vs Warriors on both and notice just how much more aggressive and realistic Steph and Giannis play. It really is impressive. But I get it. We all want different things.

I agree man. I have a laundry list of things I want out of a College Hoops game. The number one thing is that I really do think that having another AAA basketball game would be good for us gamers. Its not the competition, it's the variety. Is EA College Football a better more sim football game than Madden? I don't know. I don't care. EACFB is just a fun game to pick up and play.

I think it could work the same in the basketball space. I imagine most basketball gamers were fans of 2Ks gameplay at some point. But many have stopped buying and supporting the product for different reasons. The game used to sell around and over 10 million. I saw 2K25 is at 7 million or something. 2K25 is successful and profitable, especially with the VC focus.

I'd personally love to see a smaller game focused on what made CH2K8, NBA2K14, 2K16 and 2K21 special.

These are all game breaking on 2k24 that are fixed this year. But ok each of our own.
I'm not trying to vouch for 2K24 new-gen, which I didn't play much of, but it's a give-and-take every year. There are "game breaking" issues every single year; it's just a matter of which years have the least (to you) and which ones you find the least annoying to work around / repair.

I know people that prefer 23,24 or 25 as their favorite of the past 3.Some like all to some extent and some think that anything in the past 5-6 years is trash.

There really is no defining version. It's just that people that stay offline have alot less to complain about.Whatever feels right to you.
