Alright, seriously, what the **** is wrong with this mode?

As you all know by now, every time I win I get 2 stars.

Now I just beat the Pacers 70-63, got 6300 pts, got 3 stars... and didn't even get a 3 star pack. Just a 1 and 2*. WTF?!?!

This is ****ing bull****.

Chill out bro. Quit MT to the main menu for a second and go back in. The 3 star pack wil pop up right away.

Finally won a game against the 76ers. What finally helped me was the Get Shooters Open/Create Chaos/Play Physical as suggested on previous page.

Also cool to finally get some steals, I had no idea how to even do them but after watching some Youtube vids, it works pretty well.

I got rid of Hardaway Jr because I rely too much on the 3's and Gerald Green was doing a good enough job when I actually needed someone for a dunk. I was doing tons of steals with Mills, and use Schroeder on the bench.

Hopefully I can keep winning more frequently now. Took me long enough, like 30 games.

Opened tons of Bronze packs the last 2 weeks, still need my man Patty Mills . But i still play this mode for easy 7000+ MT points against the Suns and Magic. I usually rotate my squad every now and then but once i get him, my lineup will stick with;

SF: Gerald Green
PF: John Henson
C: Chris Anderson

If his free throws (64 rating) and three pointer (78 rating) were a little better, Taylor would be the best bronze PG for sure.

I have no problem making threes with him but that FT rating is a killer. I probably shoot under 50% with him. Makes me a bit hesitant to drive at times.

Im sure this has been said b4 but lost in the 60 some pages and since its a slow moving thread now with only ppl who haven't completed Domination mode it bears repeating , so i'll do it lol.

80 is a key number for points scored ... Is it automatic 3 star NO. Can you get 3 stars in the mid / high 70's YES.

Now here's a tip (if your ego can handle losing)

Set your defense to Halfcourt Trap and LET THEM SCORE. Find your 2 best PG w/ the best Layup and Inside attributes (guys like Gary Neal and Houstons Cannan come to mind)

Run down the court and hit a layup ....

NOW FOR THE TIP: In the first 2 QT at the 2 min mark START FOULING which will stop the clock (KEY) ... IN the 3rd or you can wait till 4th if you are comfortable FOUL the min the qt Starts. Get your 5 fouls in ASAP usually within first 20 sec. Now manage who you are using to commit fouls and continue to drive to the hoop.

With a little practice you'll be a loser in no time ... w/ 3 stars and a team pack tho

No offense but I'm not really sure why that would help?

I haven't found it that difficult to get 3 stars, I usually just get at least 5 steals and 5 blocks and score 65+ which in my opinion seems to be pretty easy.

My advice to people trying to get 3 stars (or anyone playing domination to farm MT) is to be patient on offense and try to get an open look. I average 8500 MT a game (I've gotten as high as 10.8k). I play with 4 shooters and a big. I'll work the shot clock until I get an open look (preferably a three). I shoot midrange if they leave someone wide open, and I even dump the ball into the post semi-reguarly or hit my big trailing the play after passing the ball in. Sure, I'll try to get an easy quick bucket by throwing the ball in near half court, but if it's not open I'll move the ball around until I get a quality shot.

On defense I play on the ball D. I'll usually attempt a steal once (maybe twice if I'm feeling a little frisky) to avoid fouling. If I don't get the steal I will proceed to jump slightly to the side or behind the ball handler. The shooter will usually either drive to the bucket (swat his shot with your big) or jack up a three (quick possession either way). I like to play the Suns because half the team bombs 3s as soon as they're open, and the other half will attack the basket at first opportunity.

My lineup is decent but definitely not anything special. My best player is probably Brandan Wright when compared to other big men I've played with.

Well after weeks I have finally hit my stride. I'm routinely scoring between 80-95 pts with this team. Got 3 stars 5x in a row. Got the guy I've been trying to get for a week by beating the Nuggets, too (Faried).

PG: Schroder (shot creator), Canaan
SG: Wroten, Cunningham
SF: Garcia, Dunleavy
PF: Mozgov, Koufos
C: Biedrins, Kanter

Basically right off the bat I try to get Wroten going. Get into the paint, score some buckets from there, draw some fouls, etc. If he can catch fire, they start doubling him, leaving Schroder wide open for 3. Once he hits a few, he then gets on fire and it's game over. Schroder on fire = 50+ pts easily.

I'm finally getting 3 stars pretty much every time now, and winning the game more often than not as well. The biggest thing that finally got me over the hump was Fights On's advice, quoted above. Before, I was playing solid defense, trying to get steals and blocks, but so many AI teams would just take forever to get a shot off, which of course led to me getting less shot attempts, etc. Using the advice above, the cpu is scoring more, but more importantly, so am I.

On offense, though, it's just: whenever they score, inbound it to Caldwell-Pope, and take off down the floor. Drive to the lane, either convert or get fouled, repeat. If they happen to pick him up, I try to pull Delfino's man off of him, dish it to him, take the 3. When KCP is out of the game, I just do the same thing with Gerald Green.

So, while I miss the "running the offense, running set plays" style of basketball that 2k has always brought to the table, I'm glad I finally have a consistent 3-star method going. I know that if I want that more simulation style, I'll have to play MyGM. But man, MyTeam has me hooked, despite the Live-like gameplay style it pretty much requires.

Interesting, I'll have to try it. I'm really struggling with steals against OKC right now. I did fairly well against most teams, but Westbrook is so fast, I can't get a steal from him and he has the ball like 90% of the time.

I have guys with 60-70 steal which is not that much but if I get Bronze any higher than that, they lack in other areas.

I was 3 starring pretty frequently but against these guys, no luck so far. Not to mention they totally wreck me in scoring but luckily that does not seem to be as big of a factor in getting 3 stars.

Yeah, against teams with good PGs, it's tougher for sure. But, like you alluded to, it often doesn't matter if you still score 80 points. That said, against the West All-Stars last night, I had 9 steals! Carter-Williams is my PG and is pretty good with steals. If / when he gets in foul trouble, I just switch to Delfino and wind up double teaming the PG. This sometimes leads to turnovers, if not steals, which of course leads to points and helps with the 3 star rating.

Had an interesting couple games with the Pacers last night. Only got two stars the first time (which, lately it's been rare not to get 3 stars the first time), only scoring 71 points. Tried again, and the next game, I had 75 points... at the end of the 3rd quarter. Wound up scoring 95 against them, which is the highest I've scored in a MyTeam game yet.

6 stars now... just 6 stars away from 99. All I have left is the East All-Stars and the MT team. Can't wait.

Has anyone won a game, gotten 6000+ points and not be given the 3star reward pack?
It just happened to me. Is there anything I can do to get that pack now?
It was against the Pacers and I was hoping to get George or Stephenson.
