I'm running with my "hero ball" team to try to save some mt (in seed 1). Actually pretty fun, my record so far is 67 points with vince, another time i had 31 when my opponent quit with 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter (these were in the 2nd seed though, i feel like there might be a difficulty or maybe slider difference between 1st and 2nd).

starters: silver holiday - onyx vince - kidd gilchrist - faried - miles plumlee
bench: dragic - jimmer - jamaal wilkes - kurt rambis - bronze gobert - filler

I tried the same with onyx vince surrounded by bronzes (wroten, caboclo, sellers, kcp, etc) but that didn't work out too well. Defensive ratings DO matter, it's more than just having lat quickness to stay in front of them and contest.

The big men from the Ruby Dunkers are trash defensively but are fun on the break. Kemp and Blake are hard to stop one on one but will cough it up when doubled.

Lots of trade offs but not a bad bargain at 50k or less

Yeah exactly, they're all so bad defensively that I find it hard putting the best of them in Blake even in the top10 of big men. PFs are not a main scoring option for many.

89 Magic does a great job defending Lebron and Durant.

Onxy Big O is a good cover against Steph Curry and you can take advantage of him in the paint

I like to use speed against the Sapphire Yao's out there. Anthony Davis, DHoward, David Robinson, Deandre etc

Onyx Ron Artest can guard 2-4 he's too strong.

Don't underrate defensive players.

Iggy, Gerald Wallace, Gary payton, Bill Russell, etc

Get a good post scorer too. A lot of guys play off ball and help once a shot goes up. Go right at them or work the ball around till you get open looks.

I really don't like those 99 Speed big men. It's just ridiculous when Blake can catch up with guys like Westbrook or Schröder on a fast break. Smells like cheese spirit IMO. I never use Blake and rarely use my beloved Kemp because of that. Nevertheless Blake is a great choice when you are looking for an athletic scorer as PF. Duncan is better on D but compared to Blake he is like most of the other awesome PFs a lame duck. So when you have no problem with the unrealistic speed of Blake he is probably the best choice. My favorite PFs are like IRL the postfade geniuses Ruby Malone (still waiting for my Scorer Sapphire ten days after I have completed the collection [emoji35] ) and Onyx Dirk. Another great option in the 50k price range is Emerald Davis, good scoring plus awesome D!

Thanks for answering and I absolutely agree with you. The maxed out speed Ruby dunkers (especially bigmen) are ridiculous. Everyone in that collection is pretty much the fastest set of players in the game. I may come off as a hypocrite because I was upset when the dunkers pack released yet now I have Blake. I couldn't resist trying him unlike LeBron who I have no interest in using since I don't like him and everyone has him.


As a preference for bigmen, I too I like post fadeaway geniuses which is why I was stoked to get Onyx Dirk back in early April. He's always been a player I loved using in 2K. As for Emerald Davis, he's been my kryptonite all year long. Surprisingly, I haven't used him yet. Aldridge was another fascinating player that I would like to test out. Seems ludicrous to think that anyone would have a better post fadeaway than Dirk but it might be this guy.

Wondering if anyone has advice for completing total Badge-out of Gold Oscar Robertson...

Picked up Gold Big O (< 80K MT on PC) instead of Onyx because it makes sense for me to stay within Gold restrictions*.

He comes with 27 Bronze Badges and I've been upgrading as many as I can. He has 30 Badge slots, so 3 free, and I've already plugged in Fade Ace and Lob City Passer into 2 out of those 3.

There's 1 more slot free...what should I add to him? If I could get Perimeter Lockdown Defender for a reasonable price, I'd go with that, but feel hesitant to drop 15K MT of Badges into a Gold.

Here's a list of his default Badges, over half of which I've gotten up to Gold along with the addition of Gold Fade Ace and Gold Lob City Passer. What would be a strong addition, aside from Perimeter Lockdown...or is that the only thing that makes sense for his last slot?

Nope, they are all on the same level. Ruby Dirk is the best postfadeaway player MT can buy. Onyx Dirk and some others are close behind. I also have Aldridge, Malone, Hakeem, MJ and Ewing and they are all top notch. When I have to decide who is the best of them I would vote for Ewing, but as said they are all on the same level.

You need a better PF, Malone is by far the worst card in your starting lineup. If you want to go big, Onyx KG/Onyx Admiral/Emerald/Ruby AD are the best options. Or you use a SF like Diamond KD or Onyx Artest.

But before, get some Sapphires like Hakeem and maybe one more big (Wilt/DeAndre/Russell).

the ratings can be misleading. He's slow, undersized, and has a awkward release. A little undervalued but he's not as useful as the other PF's listed.

Do some research, Karl Malone is an awful person as well.

I would change kobe with a better shooter off the bench, some ideas could be:
- Swap Kobe with Onyx Mitch Richmond,
- Move Havlicek to the bench for Kobe and replace kobe with Ruby Clyde,
- Move Havlicek to the bench for Kobe, play him at the 2 and replace kobe with Diamond KD

I honestly would go with the last option: you start with a big team, but you can change some player and go with a super small team with Jerry Lucas at the 5 and shoot from anywhere, you have post threats, shooters, quickness.. really good IMHO

I think KD vs. LBJ at SG or SF is best determined by:
- The defensive matchup (though, of course, you can shuffle that).
- The plays you run and at which position it's more important to have KD's shooting. And/or: are you mainly feeding a wing who is waiting to be neglected in the corner, or are you mainly feeding a SG who is curling around screens?
