I've been awarded '05 Quentin Richardson for beating Suns in historic domination but he is nowhere to be find in my collection. Isn't he released or what?

Stuck trying to beat the West All-Stars... like someone else, 800+ was obtainable playing NBA teams, now against the West team, I see peculiar results. West starts Chris Paul at SG and so of course, I'll post him up with Jordan, Butler, etc and amazingly they're always cold.

Seen Chris Paul grab rebounds against Howard, Durant like they're in a trance. His penetration shots over Howard, Robinson, etc almost always go in. CP3 is allowed to bump his opponent across the court and no foul. Added Gary Payton DPOY and he shut CP3 down a lot.

Nevertheless, my last game I outscored the West by 30 and still score less than 800 MT points??? Free throws given was only 73 points, even though 10/12? What gives...

yeah i always had my FT points much less than the actual percentage.

Try to score more on fastbreaks and set to POE to crash offensive glass so you can get more bonus points for second chance scores.

These are the reasons I do not play domination lol. Not only I get to play the CPU all the time (that's quite ok even if I prefer online) but the game itself demands of me to play a certain way.

Even crasing the opponent by 30 points is not good enough.

Lol, the game DEMANDS you to learn how to cheese and break mechanics

Then we go and blame the kids who use the same tricks in RTTP.

Hey mate, very stiff not to pass given your 3pt % and you scored 85!

I think from memory I had very similar stats but i had alot more fast break points. Perhaps try setting your points of emphasis to manuel if not done already and tweak them to suit an uptempo gamesytle.

Run in transition works well when grabbing a defensive board for those fast break points as your guys will run that break and its easy to snag a few extra points. Try aiming for 600MT (without the bonuses at the end) that will definitely get you over the line.

Stick at it but, you'll get it soon enough!

yeah i always had my FT points much less than the actual percentage.

You need to go Full Court trap Defense and Coast to Coast Style offener, then it should work fine.

So... I'm almost done with Domination. Sitting on 178/199 stars now having just knocked off the 86' Celtics.

One thing I noticed, I got my 400th card for my collection and was awarded the Gold Ray Allen. Having shot the lights out in the practice arena I thought well why not chuck Ray Ray in my line-up as he would be handy for my 3pt FG% for those bonus MT points in domination.

Ray shoots 0-4.. Ray's not playing next game and Johnny Wall Gold will be welcomed back.

71' Lakers up next followed by the Sonics then the 95/96 Bulls!

Had abit of a session over the past two days on Domination and decided nows the time to knock thing over so I can move onto the Challenges. Well... I DID IT!

Took 2 attempts at the 95/96 Bulls and scored a 85 Gold Rodman in my bonus packs.

Smashed the 71/72 Lakers...

Smashed the East All Stars on the first attempt. Pulled a Julias Irving Gold in my bonus packs..

Smashed the West All Stars on the first attempt. Pulled a James Worthy Gold in my bonus packs..

Took 3 attempts to knock of the Historic My Team. Bill Russell hit a game winner in double OT on my second attempt after I was up by 6 with 34 seconds to go in the first OT! Control nearly went into the TV.

Now in my bonus packs... I get the same bloody James Worthy card! ARE YOU FOR REAL 2K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That pissed me right off.

Happy I no longer have to play domination but thought I'd share my frustration with this game.

P.S - Is the Pippen Reward card any good??? Keen to try him out.

I just beat the All Time All Star team by 17 pts. Only got 870 MT of the 890 I needed. This is frustrating as hell. I had the requisite 3pt and FT attempts, had 30 assists and 33 rebounds, along with 7 blocks and 7 steals, yet that still wasn't enough to earn the MT needed. My percentages were 57/36/83. The way you have to play this mode is a joke.

Yes, it is. If you want to maximize your chances of getting all three stars, you really need to be scoring with either:

1) P'n'R with assisted Dunk
2) Assisted Post Fade

If you can pull it off fast, then ultimate MT earner is Assisted Post Spin Dunk.

It's just about impossible to get 3 stars if you're mostly taking jump shots, even if assisted. You need the Post Move and Dunk/Layup bonuses.

I averaged about 1000 points per domination game by the end of it (got something ridiculous like 1240 in a non overtime game once), what you need to do is:

- make a line up of all extremely fast players and good finishers like Westbrook, rookie moments MJ, any other fast wings you have
- have a good shot blocking and rebounding center, doesn't matter if they are fast or not
- play a zone defense, set your D rules to conservative D, protect the paint
- you do NOT want to play real defense; every time the computer comes down the court with their PG, switch to your PG and stand next to them and jump with the block button like you just fell for a pump fake, the PG will go straight to the basket and try and shoot
- soon as he goes past your PG, switch to your C to block or contest the shot, you'll either get the MT from a block and a rebound or just the rebound itself
- outlet to one of your wing guys on the break and dunk or lay it in off an assist
- just do this over and over again; the CPU will shoot at the start of the shotclock every time and you want them to jack it up quickly

It's stupid and isn't basketball at all, but it works. Make sure you have 1 decent 3pt shooter too to hit a couple threes and get the bonus MT.

100% spot on this.

Fast wings are they key. Also make sure you set your POE to 'Run In Transition'. The guys will break as soon a D board is grabbed.

Horrible basketball but that's the way 2k have designed this mode.

You don't need a stacked lineup either if you play the way NoLeafClover explained.

I had 2 silvers in my final squad for Domination. One being Rudy Gobert (2-3 blocks and 4-5 boards a game = 40-50MT just from him) and also the Greek freak Antetokoumpo who is great on the break.

Arguably my saving grace was Anthony Davis Amethyst but if you can find guys who suit the gamestyle then go with them.

Other important little factors are 3pt shooters. I had Rudy Gay and Gordon Haywood and Andrew Wiggins all guys whose shots I mastered and they were the only 3 I shot with from downtown really (Tried Gold Ray Allen and I couldn't hit jack!). I would usually go 3/5 from downtown and then stop shooting from there.

Fast break dunks are the key in this mode for mine, chuck in an assist off a D rebound and bang you have yourself 15-18MY off the one play.
