I want to pick up a dpoy Hakeem before the price goes up, scavenging for MT right now. Got a lot of auctions that need to sell first.

I don't think DPOY Hakeem is going to be a good one to invest in since he already has a normal historic version and there's a free Diamond Hakeem you can get through the collector rewards.

People will start getting Diamond Hakeem pretty soon as more cards are released into packs.

The diamond Hakeem seems pretty unobtainable for me as I am hovering around 1300 cards in my collection. I mean, it's possible I will get him during the summer, but for now he seems like one of the best options at C for under 200k.

lol diamond hakeem isn't free you need to collect MILLIONS first and spend many hours, the dpoy hakeem is almost the same card so might as well get that one for under 200k instead of wasting hours and spending thousands of dollars to get several millions of MT and waiting till April or later on when they release more cards

I don't see that many being able to grab Diamond Hakeem. Based on the amount of people that play 2k it will be a decent amount, but not vert common.

I went ahead and grabbed Hakeem for 183k. I had been thinking of getting him ever since the packs released.

The principle by which Diamond Hakeem and other Reward cards are "free" is because the cards you need to collect to get him can be sold off after you collect them. So, theoretically, if you get good deals on the cards, you can end up with as much, or more MT than you spent on collecting them...plus the Reward Card.

But, of course, it's hard to imagine getting to those top rewards without some combination of either spending real money, spending insane amounts of time on AH flipping (and getting a lot of luck), and/or getting super-lucky with a big-time pack pull.

I actually like DPOY Hakeem as an investment. The only C with better post game will be Diamond Kareem, who won't be out for a while. No current player has great post game, so cheesy Moments/TBT Diamonds won't be a problem, either. Prime Shaq and MVP Wilt will be great Cs, but won't have the same kind of post game and won't be out anytime soon, either.

The Diamond will be attainable sometime in the next couple months, but that's a concern for less than 1% of the player base so I don't think it'll make a big difference.

By the way, sorry for disagreeing once again jyoung. I usually agree with you and I don't post in those cases, hope you don't feel like I'm picking on you or anything lol.

It depends on what platform you're on too. Getting up the collector levels is a lot easier on Xbox One and PS4 than on PC.

On Xbox One and PS4, I'd expect people to start getting to Diamond Hakeem in another two or three weeks at the current rate Historic/Throwback cards are being released.

But if 2K adds the jerseys from Play Now into MyTeam like they did last year with their jersey update, people could get to Diamond Hakeem even faster.

He looks really really good, but I haven't tried him. Played against a few people who had him and his speed was crazy, he was down the court from an inbound in a blink of an eye. Everyone seemed to cheese with him, chucking the ball downcourt after imbounding it before my D resets.

I picked up the DPOY Hakeem the other night and I am loving him.

You don't need to buy VC or MT to get your collection up. 80% of the cards are worthless to the majority of the players. No one gets excited about 01 Matt Geiger, normally he would go for just over his quicksell price. The problem is the geniuses behind Myteam thought it was a great idea to release cards as slow as possible. Because in March players will really enjoy being able to pull Ed Nealy or Darrall Imoff. Honestly it takes about a month to reach 2,000 cards

He's really good, I've got him as my backup for DPOY Hakeem. With my first unit I play more slowly, methodical ball - DPOY Payton, Reward Mullin, LBJ, Dyn Dray, Hakeem. With my second unit I freestyle/PnR more - Nash, ROTY MJ, TBT Melo, Pippen, DPOY D12. Most people play pretty fast and don't go into the post much, for them D12 is probably the better choice. But Hakeem is an animal and IMO easily the best C in the game.
