    Re: MVP and DPOY Cards

If I spent all(no way I'll do that but I'm just saying) of my MT on packs Friday I'd still end up not even getting one of the amethyst players released before then. The best bet would probably be to wait until they go down in price at the AH but I'll probably still open 3 boxes(like a dummy)and end up disappointed.

I buy LP and DR packs on a daily basis. I probably buy a minimum of 2 per day of each and a max of maybe 8. I just do it with a lil extra MT I may have and hope to get lucky. (nothing yet of note) LP packs dont have much in them but you can get your MT back off the contents. Last year I got a few golds out of the LPs.

The best bet is to just stick to the AH. It comes out much cheaper than packs.

The 1st DPOY pack doesnt include any interesting cards outside of the Amethysts except for Mutombo, Chandler, and Noah. The other gold cards have nearly equal versions currently available. The price wouldnt justify the purchase...Moncrief will likely be cheap though in a few days. His shooting is worse so thats what most people look at. When he drops I will get him. Kawhi is good card in between his current and DR but I feel its gonna be really expensive. Mourning could be reasonable but I dont need him. Would pick him up if for a good price.

Whenever they release Eaton I would get that card because it will be cheap about a week after release. He was my starting C in a lot of the HOF challenges last year.

Yes no one is "forcing" you to buy packs.

FYI Eaton has been released some time ago, just heads up, dirt cheap too.

I'm actually excited about the DPOY cards because I'm a sucker for defensive ratings, particularly Lateral Quickness.

I'm particularly excited about the '85 Michael Cooper. The other Cooper card can't shoot threes. And 98 lateral quickness! The acceleration isn't great, but can't be perfect.

I think there are a few cases where the slight variations are good for different modes... For instance, 2015 Kawhi Leonard being 89 makes him perfect if you're still in the three gold restriction for RTTP.

I was excited about Cooper at first as well. But looking at him more closely, there's really no reason to use him over either Kawhi.

Totally, though it all depends on price, ultimately. The bumps to Def IQ are nice, and so is the 86 Post-Fade. But not if he's worth exponentially more than Current, especially since many may already have a Current that's badged up.

On PC, this is likely to occur, what with how cheap Current Gold are. But also because of this, I wouldn't mind paying 5 to 10X the price for the best Gold Kawhi possible.

Yeah, if you compare him head-to-head with DPOY Kawhi, it's clear that Kawhi is the better card:

There's marginally better defensive stats in Cooper, with the main standout Coop advantages being significantly better Low Post D and Passing. But just not enough to overcome Kawhi's advantages in other areas.

Especially when you consider that the Low Post DIQ gets outweighed by Kawhi's much higher strength (75 v. 50), Kawhi being 2" taller.

And Coop only comes with 4 Badges.

So, really, only if you are a die-hard, old-school Laker fan.

Well LD2K said they are not releasing these packs until next week.

This collection would be way better if it had a collection reward. I think that Jordan should be the reward. It's not like a lot of people would be able to afford it

I was really disappointed by the late switch in the release date but eh what can you do. I mean complaining isn't going to get them released today.

I know we are starving for content but I am kinda glad because I burned some MT to get Draymond before he goes Amethyst. this will give me some time to replenish my MT. if he goes Amethyst, I can dump him for profit. Also, even though that Jordan is a 95 ovr and great defender, he still cant shoot so he is not on my radar because his price is gonna be bananas. Kawhi Amethyst makes DPOY look like trash. I cant do the 60 Oconsistency if the price is gonna be outrageous....I will stick with current version. Moncrief 3-ball is way worse than regular version. He is the only one I will probably get though as he will be cheap soon. Only other card I am really interested in here is KG....and maybe Dikembe. (already have reg Dream and Admiral)

The Gary Payton card looks like the best version but other than that...

                                Re: MVP and DPOY Cards

Decided to buy one box of the DPOY packs and I pulled 4 DPOY centers:

                                Ben Wallace
                                Dikembe Mutombo
                                Mark Eaton
                                Joakim Noah

Don't know if that's considered good luck but I'm kind of shocked I even pulled one lol.

Should I sell and profit now? Or hold on to Ben Wallace and Mutombo? I have the historic Ben already so should I sell him? I'm confused but tempted to hold on to DPOY mark eaton lol

Please help me I need thoughts and recommendations lol
