not sure what happened to the game but I'm using the same settings as usual but now the automatic double teams when someone drive was frustrating. There should be a no double team setting.

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
I've actually been really lucky with 0-0 games counting as wins for some reason. On the 6th seed I got 2 0-0 games where I saw the first player v player comparison before it dropped out, both of them counted as wins. Had another in the 5th seed. Seems strange as I've been given losses before in the same situation in previous seeds. Not complaining though
I've never seen it as a win before I pretty much assumed it was always a loss for both players. Anyone have any idea what could influence that?

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
anyone losing games due to lag?
coincidentally, 2 games yesterday that I was winning easily...all of a sudden I got lag. one caused me to lose an 11 point lead and the game in the 4th. I couldn't do anything. the other I was winning by about 20 points near the end of 3rd and then the lag started and continued until the game dropped.
lag is something I have had VERY little issue with this year. I have 300mbs connection.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
I've never lost due to lag as a result of playing bad. But on a few occasions, my opponent lagged out of the game and then it gave me a loss. Happened even when I was up 20 the other day. So now I have experienced 0-0 losses from not loading the game properly, 0-0 losses from opponent lagging out, and 0-0 losses from the game results not registering after completing a game. Sigh.
On the other hand, I revamped my play style to be much slower and more methodical. Run a lot more plays, take a lot more time off the shot clock, fast breaking less, and even taking more time during time outs to let the clock run down a bit. After being demoted back to the 5th seed, I just went 7-1 in the 5th seed with this approach (7-2 if you count the one 0-0 loss, but I don't). I noticed when playing like this I turn the ball over less and really frustrate my opponents. It's as if they all are ADHD, get super impatient, and try to rush a lot more, as I slow down more, and they make extra mistakes.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
they need to fix this blocked/missed dunk crap. its unrealistic as ****. I played a game where T-Mac had open lane to the basket about 9 times. he got blocked from behind 5 times and missed 3 dunks under light pressure. it just seems like for a lot of players its not even worth attempting a dunk unless they are wide open. natural instinct is to do the dunk and not lay in though. if T-Mac has 9 exploits to the hoop no way he only makes one of them.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
It depends on the animations, some players are a lot better than finishing in traffic than others. I know now that I can't make contested layups with Rip Hamilton, period. But there are other parts of his game I really like.
Some guys that are super overpowered at hitting contested layups are Gary Payton and Chauncey Billups.
Tmac actually even though I think he's just 85 driving layup, I find he is a decent finisher in contact, not amazing though. I have missed my fair share but 1/9 is really unlucky, that's never happened before to me.Comment

I may replace Melo with Penny. I think Penny is a better player for the style I play but Melo is just one of my favorite cards in the game due to his animations.
Interesting you mentioned Billups because I like him but I am not comfortable with his shooting release with him and I fear his finishing when going to the cup.Last edited by synistr; 01-30-2016, 02:10 PM.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
Billups is a beast driving into contested layups. He is a bully and shocked me how many guys he would ignore in the paint. When he got space to drive from a good crossover and it would do that animation where I am going to the basket and the defender is on the side but moving with me, I knew billups would get it in. His shot release is a little tricky but from the corners and left wing 3pt he is money (he can actually hit well from all his blue spots too, don't be scared of those). I would put him off ball sometimes and run a play for him to swing up to the left wing running through 2 off ball screens, set him open for his hotspot 3 75% of the time.
The ratings really are a poor indication of success especially for driving layup. Lebron has like a 97 I think driving layup and when he was on my team, every time I did a baseline contested layup he missed. His animation was horrible.
Gary Payton has a 95 driving layup and gets more contested layups to fall then anybody I have used in the game this year (more than Iverson and Nash, although both of them are pretty impressive too). One of the reasons I refused to switch from historic GP to DPOY GP was I did not want to go from 95 down to 90 driving layup.Comment

Man....I was on a frustrating losing streak and losing control and getting blown out in every one. I changed my lineup. Previously I had Westbrook and Melo along with T-Mac as my 3 golds. Replaced with Billups and Penny.
PG- Mr. Big Shot, P-Bev, TBT Bledsoe
SG- Penny, Starks
SF- T-Mac, young Pip, Demarre
PF- Raps Oak, 6MOTY Uncle Spliffy
C- Tyson Chandler, Stifle Tower, WCS
this team has excellent chemistry, I would try to further improve but I wouldn't know where right now as everyone fits so well. since changing the lineup I have gone 7-1 in RTTP.
A big reason for the chemistry is in the starting lineup, I have two Floor Generals and 3 Defensive Anchors.
Its almost night and day now with finishing layups/dunks. T-Mac still misses one every now and then but much more consistent. Penny doesn't miss dunks. I think Penny may be the best finisher I have played with. Grant Hill is close. Then ROTY MJ and Vince maybe. Its like you said, its more about animations than stats. Penny did a nasty 2-hand poster on DPOY Mutombo, sick...lol.
Billups is so good. He keeps the Kyrie's and Walls in check. His jumper is pretty simple once you get used to it. And like you said, he is strong going to the cup and has some really slick layup animations. Penny is my best player in this group though because he is usually the leader in ppg and he gets assists, and steals. Its a luxury to have a PG that you can play on the wing. All of my players can defend.
Uncle Spliffy and score inside/out. Demarre is the most consistent 3pt shooter I have, period. He rarely ever misses a wide open 3. And I don't even have a 3pt shoe on him anymore....I just put +9 off consistency shoe on him and he is cash.
Young Pip is an excellent do-it-all player off the bench who can do everything but shoot. Starks is a beast off the bench. great shooter and finisher. When DR Matthews shooting took a hit I replaced him with Starks.
Right now my most frustrating issue has been bad play is being rewarded. I had tight d on Korver in the game I lost and the guy couldn't get open looks for nothing. He forced up sooooo many bad shots. Korver off balance force while bodied up from 3. One of those is fluky enough but he hit two like that. The guy was reaching and taking dumb shots with Kyrie, Korver, and whoever else he had that could shoot 3's. My guys went cold and missed about 10 wide open shots from deep so it wasn't my night.
Another thing I really don't agree with is missed green releases. Uncle Spliffy had an iso post-fade green release and he missed and it caused me to lose the game. I think if you are skilled enough and open enough to get a green release it should go since you don't get them that often.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
Glad you are liking Billups. You have an interesting lineup, looks really great. I enjoy using some of those guys too, had Raptors Oakley in my lineup for awhile as well.
I don't mind missing green releases, I enjoy that aspect this year, not all the shots dropping and more realistic shooting percentages. Although, sometimes I miss 2 green releases within a few minutes from each other and that can be irritating. Missing 1 per game is okay, not 2 in the same quarter.
When you have your opponent jacking up contested 3s and they go in it can be a pain. Yes, sometimes I agree the bad play gets rewarded. But the way I see it, is if you are locking them down all game and they are relying on ridiculous shots to drop, 9/10 times you are going to win.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
Bail out fouls are the most annoying issue for me, especially when you combine that with how easy it is to make free throws with players who have low free throw ratings.
Even if you set your defensive point of emphasis to "conservative" or "neutral," the user and the AI will get sucked into way too many foul animations against people who are attacking the paint and pump faking relentlessly.Comment

Re: What is Your Most Frustrating Gameplay Issue With RTTP Currently?
Haha I am one of those people that hit all their FT's with shaq, lots of practice using him!
I agree with the bailout fouls. I found by turning off defense assist and manually contesting all shots I don't foul people nearly as much as I used to. However, one thing that really annoys me is when my team cpu defense fouls. I will be playing good D and contest the shot or block the shot, while the cpu will foul them. If I see their SG going in for a dunk and I switch from my SG to my C to block the shot, the cpu shouldn't make my SG foul them he should back off and let the big man contest the dunk/layup.Comment
