Is it set on the same difficulty as normal domination? I'm on it now but haven't started yet.

I usually try to challenge the ball-handler to take quick shots, that will usually stop them from running their plays (which are very effective for most teams) and will also give me more defensive rebounds, fastbreak points and more possessions overall. Hopefully it will work with the Heat too.

My lineup throughout Historic was Francis/QRich/Sprewell/Ruby Oakley/Sapphire Lanier. Having the big strong guys in the paint really helped preventing easy baskets and rebounding. Rebounding is HUGE for getting your point total up. I put Hustle Rebounder badges on my bigs and it made a big difference. The other big thing was Oakley and Lanier could make free throws so I could bully my way in the paint and get to the line if I was desperate for offense or getting my FT attempts up. Most of the elite C's can't shoot free throws consistently.

My bench was faster with Melo/KP at PF/C. Seemed helpful to have a more explosive offense coming in off the bench in case I had a slow start.

I stopped worrying if the CPU was playing slow, you get extra points for multiple defensive stops and if they force a bad shot at the end of the shot clock you have a great chance at a rebound. Patient defense seemed to work but it helps to have a PG with Pick Pocket who can also get some bonus steals.

Re: Domination - Roadblocks (Teams to look out for and how to beat them))

After the T-Wolves beat me in a game that came down to the wire, I got fed up with making things not-easy for myself and used a pretty loaded team.

          PG: Wall / Bledsoe
          SG: MCW / Dragic
          SF: Tyreke Evans / Ingram
          PF: Horry / Griffin
          C: Boogie / Embiid

Two Dynamic Duos operating in each lineup, so most of my players were a bit better than generally advertised. And I just steamrolled them for a 30 point win.

I still think it's more fun and satisfying to win with as un-stacked a team as one can field while still being competitive. But the unfortunate economic aspects of MyTeam make me feel like I should try to get to and finish Historic Domination as quickly as possible to get the best possible returns from the cards I win, on the AH.

So I'm just going to switch to a better lineup than I need and try to finish the Dominations as quickly as possible.

I have been tracking pretty well through domination with a decent lineup of CP3, Dirk, DeAndre and silvers until I played, wait for it, the Kings.

I lost like five games against them, some close and some blowouts.

Gay turned into Kobe draining jumpers over me with contested fadeaways and nifty step backs. Afflalo hit threes as if he was Klay. Boogie bullied DeAndre and continued to make tough contact shots in the paint. Willie destroyed Dirk with excellent foot work and kept getting to the line. Casspie was a spark off the bench.

And that wasn't the frustrating part.

Open threes missed, every loose ball from an attempted steal went back to them or out of bounds, free throws clanked, open layups ... forget it.

Eventually I decided to hit the auction house and loaded my team up. Iggy and JJ filled my wing positions. Bledsoe and Dragon came off the bench (such a luxury).

After one more loss (and one destroyed controller), I finally won by 10. Thank god.

Next game I played the Bulls and won by 25.

Day off for me today over here in Oz so I decided to chuck 2k on and go to my next match up against the Suns. Going into half time up by 13 I was quite content, what was about to follow was disastrous.

All my shooters scoring prowess just disappeared. Time after time Knight and Bledsloe found space and hit 3's. Dragon Bender and Booker chipped in with one each as they hit (6) three pointers in the 3rd term alone!

My 13 point lead was gone as they led by 1 going into the last. Thinking right my luck will change now oh was i wrong. Open shots just not hitting, CPU O boards in 3 on 1 situations, multiple And 1's for the CPU. Ended up losing by 13. A 26 point turn around in a half!

So I persisted and went in again. Chucked Serge Ibaka back into the starting lineup and had Marv Williams come off the bench. It worked I had a bit more defensive presence on the court, this time I came from 3 or 4 down at half time and won by 4 thank god.

I get really pissed at the time when I lose but then when I beat my opp the very next game it makes me calm again haha.

My Team 2k17 seems very tactical this season as I'm chopping and changing lineup almost every game whereas last season I ran the same lineups almost through the whole domination mode.

              Next up Orlando (My boys!)

Man, the Nuggets are destroying me. I've lost to them four times now! No matter what I do Jokic and Gallinari just NEVER miss!!

                Help!

                My line up is:

                Dragic/Walker
                McCollum/Lavine
                Gallinari/Turner

I lost literally 0 domination games in 2k16, but the Suns beat me the first time in a story very similar to this.

The 2nd time around it almost happened again. The Suns come out of the 3rd quarter on fire from 3.

I've lost 3 game so far, Rockets, NO and the Kings. Didn't make the points against NO which was annoying. Kings was the most frustrating..they finished the game with 15 defensive and 17 offensive boards. Whiteside and DJ getting out rebounded almost every time by Cauley-Stein really grinded my gears!

Steam rolled Cavs, Clips and SA. Next up GSW

I lost twice to the Jazz, but after adapting to the CPU I started getting 1k MT each game, even against the best opponents. Right now I'm halfway through Historic Domination and I'm still getting at least 1k MT, even without getting the 10FTs.

I'm not there yet, I just played the Knicks (and got 1400+, my personal best). On defense I just try to force them into a quick shot (leaving the ball-handler some space, but getting closer when I see he's about to shoot) or to force a TO with a double-team... or anything else that will give me the ball quickly, if they end up scoring sometimes it's ok. On offense I try to score a lot on fastbreaks, while on standard possessions a classic PnR to start will give me an easy dunk/layup or a kick-out for an open 3. If the defense keeps its position after the Pnr, I usually take a fadeaway from the post with Nowitzki. I usually end the games with at least 70% on FG and 50% on 3s, so by just playing quickly you will get a lot of MT and win the game because there's no way the CPU can keep up with those FG%.

LMAO. I used an even more loaded team against the Wizards and lost three times.

Buckled down for the fourth and concentrated and blew them out by 20. Early on, at one point, I think the score was like 30-9.

So it really is more about play than lineup.

By the way, Thon Maker - especially with Livingston around to buff - is really interesting. Vs the Wuz scrubs he went nuts. Scored 10 points in and around the paint in 4 minutes.

I'm glad 'm not the only one who notices that the tipped balls/deflections go back to the CPU around 80% of the time? I thought they had supposedly fixed that.

For those having trouble, the same strategy that made this a cakewalk for me last year works just as well if not better this year.

The key is running the halfcourt trap defense all game and then controlling a rim protector to patrol the paint. The CPU will double the ball most of the time, sometimes getting steals, but always forcing a quicker tempo.

I haven't mastered offense yet but I'm running the Warriors freelance and go with a pick and roll from the top of the key after made baskets. Winning easily with 850-950 points every game.
