You should give Kiki a shot. His jumper is amazing. His defense is better than the atts would suggest, and he seems to constantly be getting steals, interceptions and rebounds. He just posterized Valanciunas for me last game, and he's good for one of those every game. I used to user him on defense and have him cover the weakest offensive player on the other team. Now, I've gotten to where I like to have him guard the best offensive wing the other team has, and shut them down. I never thought he'd put Majerle on the bench.

And Hill is even better. He does all of that and he's lightning fast. His three pointer is insane, especially considering his rating.

You must have an insane team if you don't use either of them. I can't imagine King will be an upgrade over either of them, but I'm about 45 cards away from finding out.

Well, I don't have higher-rated players than them. I should try to play all three more...play Kiki at all.

I'm especially interested at what Hill is like with +9 Ball Control. Wonder if that improves the crispness of his crossovers, or if that's already just perma-nerfed by his animations.

I have a hard time playing Hill and King because I mainly play Magic and MRR at point and, with that, I feel like I need high-end outside shooting from at least one wing, if not both.

I would say up to and including Christmas Day. I think there's going to be a market crash once all the kiddies who got the game for Christmas start figuring out the real market value of players. But I think they're going to be buying up a lot of stuff even at inflated prices early that day. And they'll be buying packs and begin flooding the market by the end of the day. There's usually a big flux in the market around this time, and usually the higher priced cars start falling to more reasonable prices. I'd sell now to get the most for your collection.

Just played Kiki on that Raptors Weekly Challenge finale and I'll try to see if I can work him in more. What's actually most impressive to me about him is his moving midrange abilities. Greened two moving shots (and a three). And his defensive numbers aren't terrible. I think I'm going to try to see if he can work as a Stretch 4 against other Stretch 4's.

I think Im going to join your club for Diamond Grant. LOL. His Sapphire was one of my favorite cards early in the season.

My only concern is this...and its all speculation...Do you think he will be a viable SF/SG in a month or 2? Im sure most of you will say yes, but I just want to see what you all say. I would be stopping there and selling everything back.

Another question....if every non-player item is collected, where does card count stand? Ive already gotten the Ruby rewards. MRR is next after the MT reward.

Pretty sure I want to start collecting again. Just need a little encouragement. lol

Diamond grant is amazing yes. But in terms of long time relevancy I am saying no. When I got him I thought he would be my end of year starting sf and I put diamond shoes on him. Then I got king and he kicked hill out of the lineup. Then I got Dominique and I'm running king starting sf and Wilkins bench sf. Also I already know I'm eying diamond Scottie who will kick out Dominique forsure.. And there are probably many other options I haven't considered.

Hill is amazing. But if you like getting the new shiny toys as they drop, you won't be using him very long at this point.

Edit: After playing a few weeks with Dominique I am actually pretty sure Hill is better than him, despite what the ratings say. Probably I will get Hill back into the rotation instead of dominique soon..

In a month or two? Absolutely he'll be a viable option. He won't be the best option out there but he'll be a solid option for a good team. By end of game, he'll probably be a low end good option but there will be plenty of cards that are better. When I got him, he was the best player on my team. Now he's top 3 for sure. I likely won't be able to afford to complete more than one or two good collections so having a guy like Hill as a supporting guy in the future will be great. But if you always want the newest cards and buy a bunch of packs than something will replace him.

All this said, you can always sell back the cards you used to get him. I'm down below 500 cards now (and I haven't sold any of the ~260 shoes I collected because I'll actually use those).

idc about new toys lol. Not me.

Ive given up on the DT players. Way too expensive. I would LOVE the set, bc thats when I was growing up and was probably biggest into playing and watching. But unless the expired packs come back and the sets drop in price, no thanks. I think Im done worrying about any rewards that force me to lock cards in.

Re: The collection grind...who's going for it

I think if you have the time and patience to slowly build up your collection with good-priced purchases, then that's always a good strategy. Because you're just using your regular inventory as expanded Auction House inventory, in a sense. Sell back whenever you want, probably make MT.

The key is to build your collection with good buys, and not ones for which you're paying a premium just to add cards. So you add Historics as their packs come out and at their low point for those two weeks. You wait until a Moments card has become pretty common. You add the cheaper special pack cards.

Hill is a tricky guy: only really truly elite in athleticism and dunking...but doesn't have ankle breaking handles and animations, so it's not so easy to push his advantages. Still, he's a very good passer, a very good midrange shooter, is a pretty good defender, has adequate post offense, and cannot be left wide open from three, though it's not like you're going to call 3-point plays for him.

I think he can at least be a bottom-of-bench Swiss Army knife type of player who will always be useful. He can play 1, 2, or 3, and is always nice to play at 2 or 3 as your secondary Floor General to buff your PG Floor General. Can even play 4 against Stretch 4's.

I think, after MRR, it's 300 cards to get both Hill and King. I'm glad I did and I'm now just debating what/how much to sell back as I take a slower approach to getting Jerry West.

I don't think so, but if your PG has Floor General then it boosts everyone else (not the PG). If you have two guys with Floor General they boost each other so everyone gets to boost.
