I'm running a 98 ovr squad and I'm not experiencing anything out of the norm when I run against a emerald squad.
No, I get matched up against better players/teams when using my 99 team, I'm talking user skill, not team rating. I'm not losing to emerald teams all the time, i'm just consistently facing better players.

The in game equalizer is different and I'm not sure it favours anyone, it just promotes really streaky frustrating gameplay. The matchmaking system will 100% give you harder matchups with a higher rated team. Just see what happens when you draw a PD in Blacktop if you don't believe me. It's waay easier to beat a bad player with a good team than a good player with a bad team, this is why its so frustrating to BE a bad/mediocre player with a godly team!

Zo is also one of the more mobile centers on the perimeter. I think the only guy who is elite inside and out, on D...and in post offense.

When I saw that Big Men drove down Shaq's price, I thought about getting the pieces for Zo.

Think I might wait for Sabonis. I've been really excited about having an elite Sabonis in the game, even though his slowness is something that would usually be a deal killer for me

Wilt is a healthy alternative for Zo. I have them both. Wilt is just as good, about 100k cheaper.

but that Zo is definitely amazing..

I'm sure there are other reasonable and better value options, just that Zo is the reason I became a Heat fan back in the day so I couldn't resist :o

            Kobe/J-Rich/Mashburn/Duncan/D-Rob
            Iverson/Jordan/Iggy/LJ/Big Ben
            Magic/Francis/Bosh

I basically just ISO and P&R with Kobe, J-Rich and Mashburn are great knockdown shooters/rim runners
Duncan and Robinson feast on pick and rolls and post ups, great defensive unit as well

second unit is all D and fast break... alley oops PNRs and ISO's

Bosh is my stretch man, Magic and Fancis are just too good and versatile to leave off the squad

              My starters are (all emerald):

              Wall
              Harden
              PG13
              Anthony Davis
              Karl Towns

              Bench
              Sapphire Steph
              Sapphire Rookie Wade
              Emerald Durant
              Jabari
Brook Lopez (who will get replaced soon)

Face teams with all Ruby and Sapphire players and still blow them out. Usually people just have the guys with 90+ 3PT ratings, not taking into account that they are terrible defenders. Can't tell how many times I've gone near perfect with Wade or Durant because the guy has Q Richardson or Robert Horry guarding Durant or Wade

Im in the Sapphire league (if I remember properly), looking to get Sapphire Durant or Sapphire Harden. How are people getting so much MT points?

I switch Kobe and Francis back and forth, can't decide which way is better. Kobe takes weak D PG's to town though it's not even fair for them. I switch it up a lot during the game, Magic sees a lot of time with the first unit and Kobe sees a lot of time with AI and IGGY

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

I wanna share with you the most effective and abusive lineup I created so far in this games' release.

I don't know who asked me a while back, if I'd ever try Shaq and Alonzo on the same court. Well who ever it was, god bless you - I just witnessed the sickest blowouts with 20-30P+ to remain in Amy league.

                    My starters are:

                    Magic / Hudson / Kiki / Shaq / Alonzo

I start the game off with a big-men oriented "Flow Motion" Offense.
As Shaq is the PF, he is the main screen setter to trigger the offense. The options finishing the attack are insane. I have beside Ewing the best Centers to finish at the rim, can attack the basket quickly with Magic (hands down best PG, I don't even care about Parker and Hardaway any more) when he is not expecting it and have the options to dish out to the shooters when they try to knock the ball away from Shaq or Zo.
Don't get me started about how Shaq is destroying regular PFs or small ball lineups when knocking his way to the rim with 99 contact dunk. he's just tearing anyone apart.

My rotating lineup is completly different from the offensive standpoint, as I use to run "5 out scoring actions" with:

                    Hill / Richmond / King / Johnson / Bosh

"Wait you put Hill at the 1?" Yes and believe me he is completly OP at that position. The missmatch he is creating and the ability to go to the rim while EVERYONE on the team is able to drain the mid/3PT when he gets double is far beyond good. And as this a very offensive playstyle it is also completely different from the heavy big-men oriented Flow Motion I start with. So shifting between these playstyles makes it hard for the opponent to deal with as he has to react in different ways.

Last but not least I run at the end of the 3rd a "Pace Motion" Offense to get some rest for the others:

                    Parker / Richmond / King / Marion / Eaton

Classic 4 out 1 in motion offense, always a reliable source of attacking, but in my opinion over-used by a lot (if that's all they do all game long)

So yea all in all I shift between 3 offenses and it is working wonderful.
It's a lot about creating missmatches and abusing the given situations.
Getting some speed or 3PT shoes definitely helps and it's a must to know how to set defensive settings just as the correct PoEs to make it a big bash party, while Shaq and Alonzo fly side by side for victory.

(...and defensively...well, you always have at least one of them in the paint, if you try to attack the basket while both big boys are near... good luck )

                    Baron Peja Melo Issel Mutombo

Man, this Diamond Zo is such an amazing card. They really buffed up his speed from last year along with his post fade, so there is so many ways for him to score. I've gone 7 - 0 since I've got him (I'm only in Sapphire league though) as it seems people just don't know how to defend the post.

The shimmy post move to up-and-under combo fools people EVERY time, and he hardly ever misses; plus when he gets fouled his FT rating is decent this year too and his shooting form is quite easy.

Glad to see my fav player getting some love this year

I love Diamond Zo. He blocks or contests every shot at the rim.

His post fade from the left side of the court is pure cheese because it creates so much space. And he's the best defensive center in the game.

I usually try to emphasize scoring in the post. Agree a lot of people can't defend properly. Too much biting at fakes and, also, the effectiveness of a strong post but is just fundamental.

When someone is disciplined about hands up defense, though, it can be tough. And also opponemts who are quick about doubling off the right guy to steal from the big.

Especially at lower Leagues' loe difficulty, Steal is too OP and bigs especially vulnerable.

But still most reliable way of scoring.

Just hit the Ruby League and and got hit with a serious reality check. Clearly the difficulty was bumped up since I'm no longer hitting the shots that I used to hit in the earlier leagues.

After sweeping the Sapphire league I'm now 2-1 in the Ruby League. Took an L to some guy in a close game after I had a meltdown in the last minute lol. I wasn't expecting the difficulty bump so I couldn't hit shots and that threw off my entire offense. So I'm doing a little house cleaning and slowly rebuilding my team, position by position. My gold and silver cards are starting to become a liability and it's time for me to round out my team with more Emeralds and Sapphires.

First off I took Rudy Gay out of my lineup. Terrible card. Can't hit a shot and is shooting 31 percent from three. I put Porzingis in that backup 4 spot and put Gobert back at the 5.

Got rid of my Tristan Thompson and upgraded my starting 5 spot to the Emerald Dwight. I'm already seeing the difference.

Next I'm looking to upgrade the backup 2 spot. That Brandon Rush card was amazing in the earlier leagues but now that 3s aren't dropping at the same rate, he's sort of useless now. I'm eyeing that Sapphire Wade card or maybe even the Sapphire JR Smith.

Stephen Curry is probably next to go. I love having Steph Curry on my squad. His card is a game changer but not this nerfed Sapphire crap version lol. I'm going to wait until they release a beastly Amethyst/Diamond version because the Sapphire version is really only good for spot up shooting.

Another killer is that MyCareer MyCareer doesn't give you those free connection cards like last year. Those gold cards really helped me build MyTeam up last year. Sucks. Anyway, I'm probably going to be grinding out some Domination/Challenges and stacking some MT to improve my squad in the meantime.
