Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

i am an offensive player but after i was blown out by some teams i decided to focus on defense

PG: Ruby Rondo (fast, reliable on 3s, amazing defense, bought it with diamond contract for 95k)

    SG: Ruby 'Thunder Dan'

    SF: Ruby 'Pip'

    PF: Ruby Rodman

    C: Ruby Admiral

    my second unit:
    Ruby Deron Williams
    Ruby Kobe
    Dantley
    Diamond LJ
    Ruby Eaton

useful players for adjusting lineups Antoine Walker, C Webb, Battier

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

      Emerald Tmac/Saph Curry
      Ruby Rip/Emerald Klay
      Emerald Durant/Saph Kawhi
      Amethyst Marion/Saph LeBron
      Diamond Wallace/Ruby Aldridge
Ruby Davis, Emerald PG, and Saph Pack on the bench in case of injuries/gameplan

Thinking about picking up Saphire Durant but I haven't lost more than one game in a league thus far so don't really want to screw with anything unless I start struggling

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

Just started playing MTO 3 months into the game mode after completing a lot of the other modes. Then I ran into 30 minute wait times for my 99 overall team and boring games with FA cards. Matchmaking is working as intended.

So I built a lower overall team so I can get through these early leagues and now I'm having so much fun I might end up badging some of these players. Obviously, my lineup is more catered to outside shooting because of the early league difficulty setting. Only thing I miss is playing with Ben Wallace, that dude is a monster and can single-handedly stop all sorts of cheese.

how do you fair with MRR at PG? I have Ruby Harden but looking to sell. Wanna start MRR at the PG instead. is his lack of shooting a problem for you? i run Pace offense so its a lot of PnR anyway. His defense is top shelf and thats really why i wanna run him.

He's an elite defender. Big enough to play 2, too. For me a terrible shooter. Up and down for me with layups. Still like him a lot for defense, athleticism, and old-school running of offense.

I've actually just picked up Ruby Harden and he's my bench PG. Problem on D but such a virtuoso scorer.

He's pretty great, but his lack of a 3 ball can be a big problem if the defense starts sagging on him. As far as defense/dribbling/playmaking go he's top notch, but I prefer PG's that can at least make an open 3

harden is an incredible scorer. loved him at PG. but the thing is, he's so awful at D its not even funny. he would often get lost on defense(full settings applied). one on ones were hilarious cus i knew he couldnt guard a broomstick. but im giving up his scoring ability for supremely gifted defense. i put a shoe on him so he had a 92 driving layup and 89 midrange now. decent enough, you think?

i prefer PGs that can hit the 3 as well....but i have Tony Parker on my bench. If the offense is severely needed, i should be able to go to him and pick it up.

                        See what you think.

I think midrange is problematic in this game if it needs to be an Open Midrange. Contested and Off-Dribble midrange can be viable strategy, but MRR's ratings for those are 78 and 60. I think the 60 Off-Dribble Midrange is a real problem, because how often do you get to take a standstill, open midrange with a PG?

What I think I'm going to start doing is to use MRR in a squad that has an elite post-up big. I've been finding one of most reliable ways for me to score in MTO is posting up. So if I'm going to emphasize post-up, then MRR's shooting is less of an issue (though one wants everyone else to shoot well enough to punish double-teams of the post-up scorer).

I find Harden not to be consistently terrible on D (though often), but more just really erratic. Sometimes horrific, often okay, occasionally good. It helps a lot to pay special attention to him. Manual him if he's guarding Curry, for example, especially off-ball if Curry will come off screens. Be very careful about close-out contests, because Harden seems to have a higher tendency to foul, and it sucks to give up 3 free throws.

At the least, he's strong, has height and size and athleticism, and his 75 Shot Contest isn't bad.

i just found harden to be a liability, ultimately. i prefer defense first. and harden was most definitely erratic. fastbreaks. halfcourt sets. didnt matter. he just lost a man. and usering is great but there is so much PnR that i cant logically user him all game. and thats were he gets into problems. and i dont think his offense offset the defense enough.

whereas MRR, at the very least, in PnR he's an animal and gets to the rim like crazy. with that shoe, he can knock down the midrange just enough. and i dont shoot moving midrange shots with anybody so that stat doesnt really matter for me. i just feel that harden, overall, is a net negative. and MRR is a net positive.

I wouldn't disagree with you. My main point was just that Harden's defensive liability is not necessarily quite as big as one might think. But still very bad.

Pretty happy with my squad right now

The paint is locked down. Timmy is such a glitch. That HOF drop stepper and HOF dream like up n under literally make his post moves unstoppable. He also grabs every rebound and blocks likes crazy.

I really want Hakeem when he comes out but for now i'll settle for Zo.

                              Lineup:
                              PG) Gary Payton
                              SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan

                              C) Hakeem Olajuwon

                                lineup update.

marion and LJ do some switching. Parker and MRR as well. Kiki is there just incase Ginobili gets on my damn nerves because Wang felt like tweaking shooting again.
