Re: Weekly Challanges...
Im pretty disappointed with the PD Elgin Baylor. They put a pf/c build into a 6'5 frame, so even with a 90+ speed he dribbles and runs like a big. Only way this card gets better is if they fix the animation to a wing package because right now he dribbles like Pachulia.
The Paul Pierce is a better card since it can shoot and defend better with the steals, blocks and strength.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
The diamond Paul Pierce card is definitely way better than this pink diamond Elgin Baylor.
It's sad that you can buy a better SF for 50K than you can get for playing a full 6 months' worth of weekly challenges.
2K basically did the same thing to Blacktop players with the release of Nate Archibald that they've done to challenge players with today's Paul Pierce.
Users' time in MyTeam continues to be better spent sitting around in the menus and playing the auction house instead of actually playing basketball games, because the rewards for doing the former are a ton better than the rewards for doing the latter. This design philosophy is completely backward IMO.Last edited by jyoung; 03-17-2017, 10:38 PM.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
I tried showing all of Elgin Baylor's scoring animations in these two Blacktop games:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/m0mQJykSn6A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You can see that I had lots of trouble timing his various jump shots; I don't like any of his scoring animations except for his post fade #6, which I was very familiar with since I used that on my post scorer for a while in MyCareer before settling on post fade #3 as my favorite (Gary Payton has that one).
I would honestly rather have that ruby Gary Payton in my lineup than this pink diamond Elgin Baylor since Payton has way better animations, more badges, and a much higher steal rating.Last edited by jyoung; 03-20-2017, 09:51 PM.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
I don't have any of the Challenge Rewards in my rotation. Have used a few of them for some games, but nobody stayed in for more than a handful of games. But I play all the Challenges because...it's something to do. That there are rewards, for me, is just gravy.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
I think Baylor is a pretty darned nice reward, for being free. May not make a lineup of someone who is stacked with super-premium Diamonds. But there's a lot of people who reach for someone like an Amethyst LeBron, even at this point. Plenty of people who couldn't even afford the Diamond Pierce.

Re: Weekly Challanges...
Same here, Reed has been in my lineup since the day he dropped. He's perfect at the 4 for my style, and he's very well-rounded other than a 3pt shot. His mid-range is money though, he dunks on everyone, and defensively he completely shuts down stretch bigs like Boogie.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
Hearing they are releasing all the challenges is very welcomed news. I stopped doing them after getting Ruby Michael Cooper. But now that I see that Baylor I really want him and will probably spend a weekend catching up on all the challenges.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
The final nail in pink diamond Elgin Baylor's coffin is that you can't call any shooting plays for him.
2K has only given him postup, iso, and pick & roll plays.
This is the most disappointing reward card since last year's amethyst Scottie Pippen historic domination reward card that had bad athleticism/lateral quickness ratings and couldn't make threes or free throws.Last edited by jyoung; 03-25-2017, 05:47 PM.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
Well I'm finally done with this season's dribble.
The first challenge for this week is to hit (6) three's in under 4 minutes of a blowout game against the Spurs. This is just purely a contract killer by the 2k boys. I see their sales are down so they've decided to whack this challenge in to use your contracts up!
Well played 2k, well played. Sadly you've forced me to not bother with your game anymore. The fact I can't hit half the threes in that time with some of the best outside shooters of all time by running designated plays only for them to rim out (Constantly) is a little lame.
The concept of this challenge is not in the spirit of the game (Jacking up 3's in a blowout is not good sportsmanship) so you've lost me there.Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
I'm pretty sure they didn't even bother to test out that 3pt challenge. In my second try I just intentionally fouled after every missed shot to get the ball back. Do they really intend the game to be played like that?Comment

Re: Weekly Challanges...
I had to play the 3-point one three times, I think. It's just barely possible to beat it while playing somewhat realistically.
The block one could be, as well, but one would have rely heavily on luck to do it naturally. I played it twice, I think, and passed it with a ridiculous shot-blocker lineup...ridiculous to the point that I was running Jianlian Yi at SG.
Didn't help because I got all four blocks from my frontcourt (Bradley and Bol).Comment
