Re: Worst MyTeam ever
A lot of people think so but not really in my opinion. You will eventually be put in scenarios and games against 99 overall players in Superstar difficulty. If you think a 99 overall MJ can score contested jumpers over some scrub gold or that 99 Wilt will gobble every single rebound against a gold Dwight, then you won't think it's cheating.Comment

Maybe but I think most people will feel like they hit their limit, but then get past it.Comment

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
It's possible my issues are related to me being a bad player. But I have a team with great players, except for Center and I'm getting destroyed by the last challenge every week
I must have lost the challenge against the Miami Heat 40 50 or 60 times, you know the one where you're down by 8 or 9 going into the 3rd.
It just seems like everyone on that team was hyper fantastic and the sun Whiteside played like a combination of Shaq and Wilt at the same time. I know he's really good but this was kind of ridiculous to see.
Now, I've lost to the Kings about 50 times and there's no one on that team who could make my starting 10, yet, they all play like they're 99 rated. I don't know much about Willie cauley-stein but I do know that when I looked at his ratings I was shocked because I expected him to be an A+ for everything. There's no rebound he doesn't pull down and there's no shot in the paint he doesn't block. And they're knocking down threes at an alarming rate.
And, they steal the ball from me 8 out of every 10 times I get in the lane.
If this is the exception and not the rule then I need some tutorial help. Then, I must be making a lot of mistakes that I'm not aware of.

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
Wow that is the most attempts I've ever seen for a challenge in 2K. Yeah it's hard but it is definitely not that difficult. The question is do you enjoy these challenges as a test of your skill or do you just want to get past it?
There are numerous "cheesy" tactics you can use to win but it might not align with your goals.
At first, I was trying a calm, half court offense. Move the ball around, look for a crack, feed it to my 85 rated Chris Weber on the block. I was getting a lot of about click violations.
Then I tried the pick and roll game but I was stuck so closely by the defenders I just gave up. Everytime I ran a pick for a good shooter, by the time I got around the pick i was closed in on too quickly.
Then I tried running and gunning, (I have Westbrook, Harden, Kyrie, and Durant) and I was having nearly every other pass picked off.
At this point, I would take any tactic that might help me win.

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
And with any of the offline games, it's all about skill and execution. We all know what it's like to be frustrated in PvCPU games and have been tempted to throw sh!t out the window due to CPU cheese.
But people completed all three Dominations within about the first week of release. And tons of people have since completed it without incredibly high-end teams.
It's just a matter of gaining the requisite skill and consistency in execution to complete. Domination and all the Challenges.
If you're losing the Challenges dozens of times, it's pretty clear it's just that you need to keep playing to get better with controls, tactics, execution, etc. Pretty much all of us have been there. Just keep at it.Comment

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Make sure you let the screen get set.
2. Learn how to "speed boost" and/or explode out of Triple Threat.
3. Consider going opposite direction briefly and then back toward screen to get more runway for momentum.
4. Learn how to get angle to attack the basket to draw the big's defensive attention and free up your roller to be open for the pass.Comment

I'm just going to venture a guess that you're not running P&R very well. There is some skill and finesse that goes into running the defender into the screen.

I can't wait to get home and try ur tips.
U are correct. I think I've been rushing it too much and I don't really know why but I've been trying to go around it immediately without being patient.

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
Harryl giving you honest strats and here is my list of cheesy moves.
1. Set free throw difficulty to 0 at the main menu, now you can make every single free throw from everyone.
2. Run all PFs/Cs, preferably 4 that can shoot a decent 3 but not necessary. Height is just too good on defense and speed doesn't matter as much. On offense, just take your best post guy and post spin on their weakest guy. Set offense set to 5 out and motion to space the floor.
3. Run a stretch 4 and 5 but one that the CPU actually respects (this is due to some internal logic I don't understand). For example, CPU usually respects Raef and will sag a lot on Thon. Then do 5 out PnR with a wing and release your roller early. Either use L1 to release or use the manual full receiver control. If their C/PF sags into the paint then this strategy probably doesn't work.
4. On defense, if the ball is in the hands of a poor midrange shooter, jump with their defender. That will force the AI to go into a driving logic and if they can't pullup with a mid, it'll be a contested layup 50% of the time. Obviously it won't work a lot but it's better than waiting around for a near guaranteed offensive possession.
5. Alternatively, just setup your PnR game with someone glitchly like Ben Simmons and rely on the blow by animations. With the free throw glitch, there is no reason not to attack the basket often and even in transition.Comment

Re: Worst MyTeam ever
This can be a pretty big deal. The difference between, say, 75% and 100% FT bonus could easily be the difference between 2 and 3 Stars.

I have also found it fruitful to use Half Court Trap and to double team a lot. Gets more and more effective, I think, as the CPU team gets more and more fatigued and you're always rotating in fresh guys.Comment

At some point, I'm sure 2K will patch this but, for the time being, try to use it for as long as you can.Comment
