Every time I decide to randomly play an online game of MyTeam it reminds my why I have barely touched it this year.

Gameplay is ABSOLUTE garbage and every player who plays it is a ****ing moron who just turbo and spam pick and roll, inbound steal spam etc over and over.

It's not even close to fun or skillful and hasnt been since 2K16.

Like, I am actually shocked at how garbage it is, and I'm not one of these random posters who just goes on rants without cause.

How anyone can have fun in this mode online is beyond me... Passes 2 feet away just randomly flying out of bounds with no one around, constant teleporting offensive rebounds, dribble system is garbage and not responsive at all, post game is trash and totally nerfed due to lack of post badges, players can just turbo at the basket and get bail out foul calls more than half the time, AI constantly leaving shooters open, etc etc etc.

I went back to 2K16 straight after (2K17 being used as a coaster as it's garbage also) and the difference is night and day.

So unenjoyable it's shameful.

Funny. I JUST decided to go and do a Pack and Playoffs online game. Holy ****. I am a pretty good player, i have issues like the rest of us buy MY GOD. It just sucks that once you finish all the domination that there's really no fun to be had for the rest of MyTeam if you just want to play single player.

LeBron missing 4 layups in one quarter, Westbrook getting blocked 3 times from mid range by the fantastic teleporting Joel Embiid. His PorzinGOD hitting 4 contested 3s, Embiid grabbing 4 offensive boards...all in one quarter.

I just want to get my money's worth from this game and play some ball, but it seems impossible. I have 4 more all time domination games left and then what? Play schedule mode where there's literally zero reward? Well, unless i want to suffer through over 100 online games combined with over 500 maddening schedule challenge games to get a good diamond card?

2K is sucking the life and hope from me....goodnight, is it actually time to switch to COD? Or replay Witcher 3 for the 3rd time through just so I can still have faith in contemporary gaming?

There's a chance to find sim ballers here for an occasional h2h match. I used to play best-of-seven series in 2k15 with my friend where we would set salary caps, card limits, etc and it was very pleasant experience comparing to any MyTeam online mode so far.

The main thing is that the gameplay is laughable. I almost trashed this game until I switched to PNO.

Among other things is that the content/rewards are trash. Last year there was a clear goal in mind which was to get PD Duncan. Why am I playing Super Max? The grind is ridiculous just to get the top rewards and it doesn't help that everything between that is trash! 500 MT rewards? Haha are you f-ing kidding me? LMAO what an insult! Last year we got Diamond shoes, packs, Amethyst/Diamond players, MT in the 10,000+ range.

MyTeam was my favorite mode in 16 and 17 but I've been playing PNO the last few weeks and it's the modt fun I've had playing 2K since 2K14. I have no interest in playing this mode until they at least bump the difficulty up to Superstar.

PNO is the most fun it's been in a long time. Games play more SIM than ever...and it is FUN.

Why 2K can't take this same on-court gameplay and put it in MyTeam boggles my mind.

As another poster mentioned....Pack and Playoffs is the WORST. Is this on Rookie difficulty? It's nothing but turbo nonsense.

SuperMax isn't much different. The blow-by's are brutal. No need to learn any dribble moves or run an offense. Nope....just get an overpowered card and turbo straight to the rim.

2K might as well let those guys go right thru defenders like they are invisible, because that's basically what happens now, except with a blow-by animation added for effect.

My God. I just decided to hop on for a few games and the gameplay is just utter **** man. Do these guys just not give a damn about this mode outside of pushing VC sales? The gameplay is straight up garbage even for MyTeam standards. Props to them for extending Super Max but it's completely pointless if the actual gameplay is just trash. Back to PNO.

Started to play MT after the holidays cause Kobe dropped. This game sucks lol. Can’t even slide on defense without warping back and leaving your guy open. Every 3 goes in contested or not and blow bys are ridiculous.

I won’t be playing this mode at all.

I've been deep into MyTeam for years and have the prestige rewards to prove it but I'm just not feeling it this year in any of the H2H modes. They just aren't fun to play.

I just login to do the weekly challenges (whatever happened to moments challenges?).

Still rocking Sapphire Kyrie as my starting PG.

Pretty sure I've quit MyTeam about three different times since I've played it this year because the online experience is horrible.

I don't know what makes me keep coming back. Maybe it's because I spent so much time in Domination completing it.

Everyone plays the same exact way and every player can hit anything, from everywhere. Meanwhile I can't hit a perfectly, played open three...

The defense is nonexistent also when you try to play man defense. Everyone just plays off ball defense with the center the whole game.

The diamond Kobe, Pete, etc. cards are BS.

I'll stick to regular PNO where the cheese is minimal and I can laugh at people trying to play the exact way but with regular overall players.

Good God. Screw 2k. Been playing for years and years and this is the last time. After All-Time domination there is absolutely ZERO point or reason to keep playing MyTeam. The lack of worthwhile single player is embarrassing. Madden is a terrible game but is loaded with single player myteam experiences.

Im in sapphire Tier in SuperMax and am an alright player, but there have been zero games that have actually been fun and not 100% maddening. Zig Zag is out of control and in no way represents basketball. I know im preaching to the choir and y'all are tired of the same gripes on this thread. But damn, fix the ****ing online aspect and unless you have 99 ball control zig zag PGs should NEVER be an effective offense. That or fix the floating/sliding animation on defense and make playing on ball defense useful.

Tried PNO for first time last night and there are still frustrating cheesers but at least it is slowed down and "sort of" realistic. Why is MyTeam not like that?

If there were single player modes with at least half-way decent rewards and challenge i'd not be bitching. The problem with this game and new games in general is that we are paying at least $60 to play a game that relies on other people to make it rewarding. Im 37, married, 2 teenage kids, i dont have a 'squad' or a ton of friends that play online so single player, card collecting is fun for an hour or so every other day. Now 2K is telling me I have to play against basketball mongoloids to get more out of it? Kids/ dropping f-bombs and n-bombs and talking noise all the time while they cheese? Man, screw this, even winning these games isn't fun anymore. Im taking my controller and going home. And getting drunk(er).

I have been telling myself I might enjoy it more when I stop hoarding MT and stuff to sepp, liquidate and then splash out with a good squad but I think state of play is fundamentally maddening this year, with the unbalanced drive mechanics.

I have been thinking about starting up a little group to coordinate friendlies and maybe have a few tournaments with interesting limitations. No strict code of conduct but have it at least understood that the idea is to find people to play online as an alternative to SM cheesefest. So we all would hopefully at least strive to limit cheese. Try to play "good" games, rather than try to win at all costs.
