Everyone in this thead, that used to have around 100-150 persons ACTIVE say that supermax this year is trash.

I have PNO 85% record and I have won GOAT league since October with 6 different teams.

Yet you came this year from the park and claim that you know better...

I can not change your view bro. Reality check, just count the myteam youtuber videos and views vs previous years

Last year I was ss3 in park year before that I ws ss4 with 80% win.Thats good what you acheived in pno, well done. You want my respect make the top 100 leaderboard in supermax , that takes nerve to deal with loss's, get back up, change your team, tactics , time. Im not in the 100 because I came late to myteam this year but probs will be. Nadexy had probably the most utube viewers last year.......what now? times change, get used to it 2k16 wasnt 2k15 and 2k18 isnt 2k17 it is constantly getting better . People are more interested in proam this year because of the e-league , so yes myteam views have dropped, so have past players who needed full diamond teams to win, now they have a salary cap.... oh wait is that 2k getting better and myteam, I think so. I plan to make the e-league next year first I wanna hook up with a team of good myteam players who have more I.Q than proam player/playground. I want to find the best individuals and form a pro am team after this inaugral year pans out or flops.

What we are just saying is that we want a gameplay that we don't have to cheese, neither we cant to combat cheese.

2k by having supermax in low difficulty and releasing cards with unrealistic stats that DO NOT reflect their real counterparts, encourages cheesing.

Now you may claim that you can combat it. Good for you. I can combat it too, that is why I was able to win all awards in previous years.

Fact is I and many others do NOT WANT to constantly play a game between cheesing and anti-cheesing, especially when we bought a game the calls itself basketball sim

Again, PNO All-Time teams are fantasy as well, BUT the players most of the time reflect their real-life counterparts AND the difficulty level is in Superstar making the game much more ENJOYABLE and closer to basketball, rather than cheese vs anti-cheese.

Frankly I do not give a dime if you had a full diamond squad. I won PD Duncan with Amethyst Francis/Amethyst Stackhouse/Sapphire PG13/Sapphire Horry and Diamond Wallace as starting line-up.
I quit playing the game shortly after I got Duncan cause every center had 80+ 3 pt rating making an unrealistic 5-out a common ground for all playing community.

Could I stop it? Sure. That's why I got an 12-0 in the 3rd prestige. Did I enjoy myself playing the game? No, that is why I quit.

ok fair enough. I inderstand that PNO FEELS more like simulation cause its harder to score. I like that feel too at times. IN the NBA the best teams score rapidly and easily, its not a grit and grind , you need defense to STOP these superteams and YES you need defense to stop SUPERMAXX teams. SUPERMAX does stress you and most times you gotta sweat each win out, cause no one wants to lose, I like this competiveness, but at the end of the day the better built team SHOULD win. People try to get easy wins in supermaxx by finding cheese cause you need to win so much to get recognized. I like stopping easy wins. In pno generally you can sit back knowing the opposing team will brick alot because of the difficulty and the cards ratings. In supermax you have to have your defense on point or you will lose. Because of the cheesers in supermaxx I got so frustrated that I Had to become BETTER and smarter and I have, but yeah I guess my drive to NOT let others be the best or think they are the best , helped me create a MAXXED out team. I mean if it stresss you too much to not get EASY wins like in park/pro am quit supermaxx, BUT for me getting in the top 100 leaderboard for the season in the world on supermaxx is the hardest challenge on 2k for me. I guess I like a challenge. I wished it was more of a blend between the 2 modes, PNO/supermaxx.

They release Ilgauskas cards with 91 3 for God Shake. They want this arcade style.They believe it is good for profit

Exactly . Sim basketball losses don't make people want to go buy glittery new cards every week. It makes people look at their playbooks. It makes people want to use players they love and are familiar with. It makes you reconsider lineups or play schemes.

Losses in MyTeam usually just make you pissed that the new Diamond whoever is unguardable so now you need one.When Brad Beal first got his diamond, I was tottally uninterested. I don't care for Beal, or the Wizards. BUT I had to get him because the first time I ran into him in Supermax he went 9 for 12 on crazy threes.

2K knows exactly what it's doing. This is why it's up to us as a consumer base to put our money where our mouths are. Why would they stop giving 91 Open Shot 3 ratings to people who never took threes if every time they do it, thousands/millions rush to go spend money over it? Ultimate team modes in general were a cash grab from the start, but it's up to us to ensure that we get a decent product. Letting our voices be heard just as loud as the XxJellyFamMeloxX community claiming that wide open shots should green 90% of the time.

I had an itch to play 2K recently after quitting for a couple of months. And I took a quick peek at 2KMT to see what cards are out and now I have zero interest. Every card is at 50 or lower intangibles and it's a complete mess.

Sad to see that Myteam has completely jumped the shark and I don't think that I'll ever be back.

What some people FAIL to realize is that this isn't just a forum of people LOSING MyTeam games whining and complaining.

I do well in MyTeam games...I win about 60% which doesn't seem like alot...except in probably 95% of the games I play...I have the WORSE team. Most of the time, it's not even close.

That's not a "humblebrag"...I'm not here for that either.

What players like myself and others are upset about is this mode COULD have so much depth and strategy to it if there were some SIM elements added.

None of us are arguing for a removal of the uncapped SuperMax...just give us an OPTION to play games in a lower capped version.

That's where the REAL depth and strategy and META game in MyTeam comes...and that's WHY we're interested in it.

Any clown can slap together an overpowered roster of unstoppable, overpowered cards and just turbo to the rim and shoot long 3's all game. There's ZERO strategy involved.

We're NOT "jealous". We just have ZERO interest in playing the game that way. It's simplistic and boring...and childish.

Many of us will NEVER play this lowest-common-denominator version of MyTeam...and we sure as heck aren't going to spend REAL money on it.

2K is missing the boat by leaving gamers like us out in the cold in favor of little kids...teeny boppers...and unemployed try-hards willing to do ANYTHING just to win a SuperMax game to get MORE overpowered cards that they will probably NEVER even use.

That's the funny part about MyTeam this year...

What are these dudes chasing?

They roll out a roster 13 deep of unstoppable Amethyst, Diamond, and Pink Diamond cards...that reward card they are going to get isn't even going to crack their lineup. LOL!

It's like watching my dog chase his tail. Except even my yellow lab is smart enough to only chase it for a few seconds...some of these 2Kers haven't figured out the psychological tricks 2K is using against them.

These try-hards are chasing "rewards" most of them will never even use. It's kinda sad...

2K has moved this mode in the complete wrong direction. I understand it's a FANTASY mode that mixes players from different eras. That doesn't mean it has to ONLY be played like a 5-on-5 version of NBA Jam.

Add tiers or some way to bring some actual strategy back to the mode.

This will increase how many people actually PLAY the mode. It will also give a wider variety in the TYPE of player who plays this mode. SIM players in general are older gamers...that means they have jobs and careers...which means they have money. Give them a reason to play MyTeam and they will spend money on it. Especially since TIME is something they don't have a lot of.

The problem now is no SIM gamer in their right mind would spend a DIME to play the cheesefest that is MyTeam. Or...if they do...they will spend it ONCE and then NEVER again because the experience of the games they are subjected to in SuperMax is the OPPOSITE of what they are looking for.

A few other things...

A capped mode also helps preserve the VALUE of certain cards in the AH over time. Something there is NONE of now.

Lower tier cards that fill a special role on a team - like a spot up shooter who can make corner 3's - will actually keep some fo their value ovr time because they will be sought out by players competing in the lower capped tiers.

See how a little strategy in the mode also helps the marketplace.


Now two more complaints...

First one - All you need to know about the goal of MyTeam is that 2K puts the color of the card under that player in-game. Like...what is the purpose of this?

Except to demonstrate to games that high tiered cards are better. You definitely start to notice this over time playing SuperMax....

There seems to be times where ratings do NOT matter...and all that matters is the color of the card. Take a highly rated Silver defensive specialist like Marcus Smart or Roberson...and put them on a lower rated Ruby or Amethyst...and it often feels like the actual RATINGS get thrown out the window.


Second thing...the cards are soooo overpowered that it's becoming ridiculous.

I get it...good players will have high ratings.

But...what is 2K doing with some of these cards?!?!?!?

Today they released a Jason Maxiell card with an 85 OVR!!!!!!

In his BEST season statistically (2012-13) he played about 25 mins a night for a Pistons team that won 29 games. He started 71 games and averaged 6.9 ppg and 5.7 rpg.

Does that sound like a card that should have an 85 OVR rating???

That was probably his BEST season...so what year is this card based on?

It's gotten to the point where 2K is even magically boosting the ratings of margin role players that most 2K gamers will NVER even take a second look at.

I don't know...that tells me they are either desperate to get eyeballs or have just lost a grip on reality. Seriously....

Not to mention they go ahead and undermine the value of other cards by releasing Gold Badged versions of players who already have multiple cards...Jeff Hornacek being one example in this new "Intensity" Theme release.

You're totally right. But it's not going to change because this approach generates profits.

Along with voicing your opinion the best thing you can do is stop playing the mode. Don't add yourself to the player pool that cheesers cheese on.

It's unfortunate.

There's literally ZERO strategy to this mode...

I'm almost positive 2K has coded the games in MyTeam to simply IGNORE ratings and badges at times - and just give an edge to the higher tiered card. I see examples of this in-game all the time.

That's why in MyTeam games the player icon below the player shows the COLOR of their card.

All 2K wants is suckers and try-hards to dump their money into worthless digital currency.

I get it...but why make it so obvious?

You can still give players a realistic experience AND make a profit.

SuperMax in it's current state is 5-on-5 NBA Jam.

They've lost a customer...I'll never spend a DIME on VC again. And this is coming from someone who has had ZERO problem whipping out his CC and buying it in the past.

I don't want to play basketball that looks like NBA Jam...or NBA Street. If I wanted that I'd go play in the Park or whatever it's called.
