Re: NBA 2K20 MyTeam: Jeremy Lin Spotlight Series Guide
I've been juggling a lot of lineups, and sometimes the "game" I like to play in 2k is the Menu Game where I just slot players in and out while looking at the cards. My favorite shiny cards right now are:
PG: PD Walt Frazier. I love this goshdarn card and sometimes I lament the embarrassment of riches I have at the PG spot. He's so quick on offense and has what you need from a distributor while also making life difficult on the other team. He has good size and heft, too. The cherry on top for me is how much I love listening to Knicks broadcasts b/c of him. Then I get to hit the hardwood for some Posting&Toasting, Dishing&Swishing with my main man, Clyde. Rounding this position out I've been working to Evo both Kidd and Lin to mixed enjoyment. I still look to put Charlie Ward onto rosters when I can, too.
SG: GO Brandon Roy. This is my first time with a GO card and he's so buttery smooth. It's a lot of fun to just have him out there right now. I also enjoy running PD Evo Jrue Holiday at the 2 b/c of the playmaking versatility in a low-impact (Ruby) package. Obvious shoutout to the Kobe card from early in the year that still feels fresh and more than capable in the back half meta. Evo'd Shumpert also does a lot that I like.
SF: Evo Antoine Walker. This card is another one I've been having a lot of fun with recently. He feels good on the court and like he can do everything well. He pulls down boards for me, he can start the break, he's deadly on the catch from outside, and he's a bully in the paint against other 3s (and quick against other 4s if he drags them beyond the line). He's an Evo that starts really strong and makes the grind/journey enjoyable. He's by far my favorite 3 at the moment and I try to sub him out as little as possible. I've given up on Evo Iggy b/c his rebound reqs feel like punishment.
PF: PD Carmelo. Ton of fun. Shoot shoot shoot, scream profanities when grabbing defensive rebounds. The fact he's having a resurgence in Portland only makes using him feel more joyful. In my grinding lineups I use Evo Kenyon Martin. Listen, I know we've poo-poo'd him here, and I find it hilarious that both Pharmacist and I have grown attached to what appear to be subpar Evo bigs from bygone days of post-play NBA, but KMart will back your butt down and then dropstep you under the rim before rising up for a standing dunk. It's what he does. He defo catches alley-oops and lays them in, which makes me laugh, but he's a standing dunk machine and it's very satisfying to me. I've gotten him to diamond and it's probably as far as he'll get, but he's situationally potent and a personal "attitude era" favorite.
C: This is all PD Jokic and PD Hakeem. Similar to the PG sitch, I have a glut of big men I love having access to. Amy Bam and Amy Sabonis, too. I think Bam plays above his ratings, but it might be b/c I use him while listening to Heat games and sometimes everything just coalesces. I'll occasionally put Amy Myles Turner at the 4 next to Jokic.
Special Mentions go to MotW Anthony Davis for holding his value and dominance for so long, and to Flash Josh Smith who I think is similarly underrated like Walt. Evo Dee Brown feels like a "modern MT" version of Evo Darrell Armstrong. The dunks he puts on heads are occasionally ridiculous.Last edited by Mister Magnus; 02-03-2020, 11:42 AM.Comment
