    Utah Jazz 110 C2K Pacers 69 (Preseason)

JAZZ DESTROY PACERS IN PRESEASON ACTION

(INDIANAPOLIS) In preseason action, the Utah Jazz came in and manhandled the C2K Pacers 110-69.

Since the first unit had nothing, Coach2K rode his bench the entire second half to get a closer look at the bench but they weren't much better.

Utah did a great job of shutting down the paint causing four or five missed dunks and probably two dozen missed opportunities inside. When the Pacers did get an open jumpshot they couldn't hit it anyway.

On the other end, Indiana couldn't get a loose ball and gave up 22 offensive rebounds.

All in all a poor effort in front of the home town fans most of whom left early.

Favors had 27 to lead Utah.

      Kings 113 Pacers 95 (Preseason)

Indiana travelled to Sacramento to face our Kings owner. The Pacers stayed tough until somewhere in the second quarter and just couldn't keep pace.

Demarcus Cousins goes 2-3 from three while Indiana can only manage 3 threes the whole game.

Kings ran a good offense and played tough defense throughout.

Collison and Cousins both had 20 for Sacramento while Paul George led Indiana with 16.

Here's the box score and video of the game.

      GG Kings!

In what can only be described as the wildest game of the preseason, the Hawks come back and get an improbable victory over the Knicks. The Knicks dominated early and started the game off in a high pressure defense. The Knicks forced 10 first quarter turnovers, and shut down the Hawks freelance completely. The Knicks were up 45 to 21 at the end of 1, with. 17 points coming off turnovers. The Knicks jumped every passing lane and attempted to block every jump shot.

            PS_Messages_20161014_185357.jpg

The second quarter started off with the Knicks continuing to dominate. It got so bad in Philips that the crowd began to boo and the Hawks were down 53-23 in second quarter.
            Down 30.jpg

It was clear the Knicks were not allowing any jumpshots, and the hawks were 0 for 8 from 3 at this juncture of the game. Hawks cut the lead to 15 at the half.
            Halftime.jpg

After getting the initial swing pass to start the freelance stolen 5 times in the first half, the Hawks decided that it was time to drive to the rim since the Knicks were playing all 5 players tight from the Half court line down.

The rookies Bembry and Prince ignited a strong run before half time, and the Hawks defense only allowed 57 points in the final three quarters to get the win. The video will be up shortly.

Nuggets fall hard to Portland losing 133-81 despite Jamal Murray having a remarkable game with a near Triple Double but McCollum's 38 points and 11 assists and Dame leading with 11 assist and 17 points the Nuggets didn't have any answers!

Hawks get a home win over the Bucks. It was a poor offensive performance by the Hawks, and they couldnt hit anything from the perimeter. Even with the poor shooting the Hawks still shared the ball with 29 of their 44 field goals coming from assists.

                Bucks box.jpg

Mike Scott carried the first half scoring.

                Bucks halftime.jpg

The Bucks were pressuring everything on the perimeter, and gambling for steals against the Hawks pass happy offense. The Hawks made a third quarter adjustment and a layup lineup ensued.

                Bucks pnr.jpg

The Bucks were content with staying at home with shooters and letting Dennis run free.

Schroeder scored 12 in the quarter and ended the game with 27 and 8.

Cleveland falls short to Portland in a tough loss, portland taking the victory 117-111. Cleveland brought full court extention on lillard and McCollum from tip off .....the pressure was surely felt causing a few turnovers, rushed shots, panic, and poor communication on offense, we eventually tried to manage it was a tough game the whole way through key factor to the was McCollum's HEROIC SHOOTING PERFORMANCE! SHOOTING 11-14 FG AND 6-7 3PT FG ON THE NIGHT HE HAD A 32 POINT NIGHT! we rode his back and he carried us Plumbee and Davis both had double doubles and that was a contributing big help too!

Wizards Fall to Lebron, Cavs in 92-104 Preseason Loss

                    By NBA 2K17 Newswire
                    October 22, 2016

CLEVELAND -- Led by Lebron James's fourth-quarter heroics, the Cavaliers beat the Wizards 104-92, shaking off a fiesty Washington squad that fought to keep the score close for much of the preseason game.

James, finishing with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in 33 minutes, asserted his will in the game's final minutes after the Wizards had cobbled together a four-point lead.

"Washington played with a lot of heart tonight, but we came together to defend our homecourt in the end," James said after the game. "This game was a reminder we can't ever be complacent if we want to defend our rings this year, even in preseason."

The Cavs' Kyrie Irving contributed 20 points, 7 assists and 5 steals in 34 minutes. Kevin Love added 12 points on 5-for-6 shooting.

Point guard John Wall, who underwent surgery in both knees in May, led the Wizards with 14 points and 7 assists, but also yielded 6 turnovers in 27 minutes.

"My knees feel 100 percent, but I just need to ease myself back into my midrange game and be more carefull with the ball," Wall told reporters. "While we haven't played good in the preseason, we're taking our lumps now so we can get better when the real season starts."

Washington's rookie coach Popcorn Jones echoed Wall's hope for the Wizards to have a stronger showing when the regular season begins.

"With John healthy again, the Wizards will compete every night, but the team really needs to limit stupid turnovers," Jones said, noting Cleveland scored 27 points off Washington's 25 turnovers. "We also need more consistent outside shooting, especially from our guards."

Shooting guard Bradley Beal added 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 32 minutes, but shot only 1-for-4 from the arc. Power forward Markieff Morris, who was traded to the Wizards from the Suns last February, scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.

Coach Jones highlighted the bench contributions of Kelly Oubre (11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in 21 minutes) and power forward Andrew Nicholson (7 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in 23 minutes).

"While it's still preseason, Kelly and Andrew are showing good aggressiveness out there," Jones said. "They're making a strong argument for more minutes and perhaps to be in the game during crunch time in some situations."

Muscala had a perfect game, and the Hawks attempted 29 more shots then the Wiz. Turnovers and bench production were the difference. Wall dominated.

Hawks Crush Wizards 135-76 in Season Opener

                        By NBA 2K17 Newswire
                        October 27, 2016

ATLANTA -- In a lopsided season opener, the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Washington Wizards, 135-76.

Washington's 59-point loss eclipses the franchise's previous record of a 52-point defeat on January 10, 1971, when the Baltimore Bullets lost to the Bucks at Milwaukee 151-99.

Led by forward Paul Millsap (21 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals), backup bigman Mike Muscala (21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals), and guard Dennis Schroeder (18 points, 8 assists, 3 steals), the Hawks dominated a Washington team that looked lost for much of the game.

The Hawks' bench also outscored Washington's 64-19, nearly eclipsing their opponent's overall point total. In another telling stat, Atlanta scored 33 points off the Wizard's 27 turnovers.

"Turnovers and bench production were the difference," Atlanta's head coach Alabama Rob said. "Muscala had a perfect game, and the Hawks attempted 29 more shots then the Wiz, but Wall dominated for Washington."

Guard John Wall scored 20 points on 7-12 shooting, and dished 8 assists, but turned over the ball 6 times. Markieff Morris added 11 points and 6 rebounds, but also 5 turnovers.

During a heated postgame press conference, a visibly irate Wizards's rookie coach Popcorn Jones summed up in one word his view of his team's franchise-worst 59-point loss to Atlanta before knocking over his chair and walking off the dais: "Pathetic."

Jones has clashed with Wizards players, publicly calling out poor performances by stars in the post season.

Morris, whom team sources say could lose his starting spot to forward Andrew Nicholson, declined to speak to reporters after the game.

"This isn't a great way to start off the season," said guard Bradley Beal (12 points, 5 assists, 0 turnovers). "We're not taking care of the ball, we're doing a terrible job of initiating and executing the offense, and we're not playing team defense."

Beal, however, sounded a note of optimism. "We'll get things together," the shooting guard said. "We have to."

Lakers opens up their season with a victory over the Hawks

The Los Angeles Lakers starts off their regular season with a victory on the road against the undefeated Atlanta Hawks. The "Baby" Lakers led by their star big man Julius Randle scored 20 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and he also showed his improvements on the defensive end as he had 2 steals to go along with 2 blocks. It wasn't just Julius who stepped up defensively but the rest of the Lakers as well as they were trapping the perimeter players of the Hawks all game and forcing them to shoot 12% from the perimeter on an abysmal 4/32 shooting. The improved Lakers bench outscored the Hawks 40-18 as they proved to be one of the best 2nd unit in the league.

Hawks star big man Dwight Howard had a monster performance 23 points and 18 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks had no answer for the Lakers 2nd unit. Paul Millsap struggled offensively and defensively as well, he could not keep up with the faster and stronger Julius Randle. D'Angelo Russell had a quiet night and only scored 8 points, but he did came up huge in the last 2 minutes as he hit 2 mid range jumpers to ice the game.

                            Hawks get by Pistons

After a terrible offensive performance versus the Lakers where the Hawks shot 12 percent from three. The first half of this game was more of the same, as the Hawks continued to misfire. Shooting 18 percent from three in the first half of this game. The Pistons controlled the tempo and playstyle of the first half.

However, in the second half the bench caught fire and the Hawks hit 14 threes in the half at a 61 percent clip. There was no defense for that type of shooting.

Blazers get their 1st win of the season! Record is now 1-4 with a slow start hopefully things will pick up as tangibles get better as things go on!
