Superstar Swap

The season is only a few days removed from opening night and we already have a blockbuster trade.

The Lakers and Nuggets decided to move from there respective superstars swapping Demarcus Cousins and Russell Westbrook.

Russell Westbrook should be even more motivated (If Westbrook being more motivated is even possible) to showout this season as he gets to come home and play in front of his people.

While DeMarcus Cousins should benefit from a more friendly play style, and a team that is built around him with defenders who could care less how many times they shoot.

Along with the superstars being swapped, the others in the trade could prove to be valuable as the Lakers acquired long sought after bigman Patrick Patterson and Tarik Black while the Nuggets received Darren Collison and Carl Landry. All 4 should have significant roles with their respective new squads but only time will tell.

Along with the blockbuster we also had a few other lesser deals. With the Rockets looking to shake things up after there slow start they sent Wilson Chandler to the Knicks for PG Jrue Holiday and sent Nikola Jokic to the Pistons for Brook Lopez. Both deals seem to fill needs for each team respectively.
