Re: NBA 2k15 team play book thread
Just for reference...here is a video of gameplay using Vann's playbook (ps4) - - >
1st Half
Hawks (Hum) vs Cavs (CPU)
Note that shooting % sliders have not been adjusted (still trying to learn the game before getting into sliders...(aka - checking out all OS'ers sets).
Level: Pro, Sim (only adjustment is that I made game speed at 60).Comment

Re: NBA 2k15 team play book thread
Anyways I'm testing each teams and tweaking poe's to make sure each team is starting out the way they should and play like they should. I play then tweak player tendencies til they are playing the way they should as players and teams. I realize all for not though as I will just do it all over again. Smh!
I've got grizzlies, mavs, spurs, and warriors playing perfect and it's the most fun I've ever had (realistic games) ever in a video game. The CPU AI is best it's ever been! If only they realized mismatches.
I've locked down near perfect slider set for my game and the big 1 was CPU tendencies.
My next playbook step is...
Reorder plays
Switch around some play types (ex: got to get guard post for Wes Matthews)
Watch games and get more actions and plays
Lockdown teams poe's
Eliminate swing power 25 as it breaks on pass back to high post
I have to do our online league custom roster playbooks and team accessories with opening night rosters this week so we can start though ASAP. That will take some time then I'll get back to this project. But in mean time I'll be taking notes and scouting regular season games so by the time roster editors finish their projects this one will be finalized and ready to input into their rosters and then...
My league here I come! Lol
So don't expect a lot of changes or updates for a few weeks. I'm making them in my file and will update them all at once rather than 1 big fix. I figured people wouldn't want to use my roster edits because I've now started editing things like dribble moves (eliminate spins, behind back, etc & put crossover as main weapon) which is game changing to me along with pump fakes. So doubt I will update on share as it's not for everyone.
But I will share the opening night rosters non edited once I place all plays in them and in doing so I hope to have them all on proper order.
Let me ask everyone a question. Which would you prefer?
1- plays in order such as.
PNR - page 1
PNR/Mid-p. 2
PNR/3pt - p 3
PNR option p. 3-4
Or
2. Plays in order from best plays to worst in a category?
Or
3. Realistic action whether it be longer actions or not?
The last one I should clarify. All the plays have realistic actions but some loop, zipper, swing, and thru actions take longer. I'm still not sure how CPU so selects 1 play from another and I've asked the question to DM twice to czar and in a thread on home page. No answers to that question but others yes. So not sure anyone really knows if there is a rhyme or reason behind it except as the CPU AI plays and is successful then I think it gos back in rotation? I have noticed a huge variety every game though which keeps me on my toes.
Anyways, I'm torn between user friendly or best plays per team no matter what order they are in. Non user friendly would look like this...
PNR - 1st play
Pnfade - 2nd play
PNR - 3 rd play
PNR option 4th play
All those could be the order in page 1. As you learn a teams playbook it would be a non issue. If you go play another team you would be lost.
Let me know opinions fellas...Basketball Playbooks

Looking very positive Vann.
1. You've already posted your CPU shooting tendency sliders. Are there any other changes you'd recommend we make?
2. Do you think we should wait for your edited roster with your playbooks, or can a sim experience be had with your playbooks and current rosters?
3. Is this dribble moving editing the 20-15-10 scale that makes dribbling more realistic and more pump fakes from CPU players?
As for your question, I think option 3 would be the most popular.Comment

Re: NBA 2k15 team play book thread
Great work! This is awesome!!!
Quick question- do you have recommendations for what freelance offense I should set my team too, or do you just use the default teams are set too?
I use the warriors and am not sure what freelance I should use..Comment

Re: NBA 2k15 team play book thread
Id start though by inputting jattnanga's Knicks playbook into all Phil Jackson coached Bulls teams though. That should be an easy transfer and knock out 4-5 Bull's teams. Will anyone be adding created players in classic rosters they are doing along with the normal rosters. Make 1 big monster AWESOME project with every team in the game edited?Basketball Playbooks

1. You've already posted your CPU shooting tendency sliders. Are there any other changes you'd recommend we make?
Sliders are all subjective and set for individuals so what works for me and gives me a sim game might not for you. Thats why I don't post mine. I just tweak and go until I feel all aspects from blocks, steals, shot percentages, and cpu is tough enough where it seems fair if I win or lose. I might just post on this thread or PM them to you for you to try but it has no effect on plays at all.
2. Do you think we should wait for your edited roster with your playbooks, or can a sim experience be had with your playbooks and current rosters?
I am VERY happy with the way the CPU is executing and running plays! This set is more than good even if I didn't make any changes to it. The only reason I will be doing final drafts is my OCD with getting teams running all the stuff they run in real life to an extent with a few money plays out of certain sets that they run plays out of. So, for example if you see a team running razor's or zipper actions but might not necessarily run that specific play I will still put it in because they run that action to start an offense.
3. Is this dribble moving editing the 20-15-10 scale that makes dribbling more realistic and more pump fakes from CPU players?
Not exactly. I didn't get that elaborate with it because Im just going to redo them again on opening night roster. I just tweaked them all basically with same scale but higher numbers. The important thing for me basically was eliminate the stupid behind the back, etc dribble moves that don't translate well. I put all those to 0. then upped basic cross to be well above everything else for everyone. I just tweak, then play and test, and see if they play like themselves. I'm not a roster maker, they are the guys you want to wait for because they have charts, and spreadsheets, and scales for everything. I just go and tweak til I get results that I want and there is no rhyme or reason to it. Just go off feel and keep testing. I test until team feels perfect. As of now Grizzlies, Warriors, Spurs, & Mavericks are perfect on my own file from POE's touches, dribble moves, player tendencies. But then I went and played OKC and out of the box it was bad. Durant took 13 of first 15 shots in the first 5 and a half minutes. They didn't even run a play for Westbrook and westbrook didn't even try or look for a shot. This was with POE set to run through star. So, I'm thinking that might not be the best way to go with them seeing they have 2 stars. Again, just tweak and go.
As for your question, I think option 3 would be the most popular.
Just so everyone knows I have the lowest teams at 85 run plays and the highest at 100 and everyone in between. The only team I put below 85 was Knicks at 50 (because of freelance offense). But I haven't tested this yet. You could do the same with Spurs or Miami going to no lower than 85 imo. At least until roster guys get better freelance action out of the roster. then I'm sure you could tweak this but I prefer and love the cpu executing their sets. It really depends on POE's as teams with shoot at will or attack basket will look to score immediately on any look anyways so it's not like they run sets and run clock down every possession. Plus with quick plays implemented a lot of times there is time to run 2 quick plays in 1 possession.Basketball Playbooks

They make a HUGE difference! I'll post under teams as I test each team and go. Ill try and get Warriors, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Mavericks up some time today. Those are the only teams I have done so far and extensively tested.Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2k15 team play book thread
It's really all dependent on what your lineup is. I change POE with every lineup change I do (really is too bad we can't change this during a timeout and while we make lineup changes because it truly is a pain and you basically lose a possession or play every time you need to go change this). I don't like the pace unless you have a 4 that can go off PNR with 5 and if your going small ball. The 4 out 1 in saw very little to no work done this year apparently according to the czar. The 3-2 is very basic action but not sure you want Lee and Bogut on the block. I would probably go with swing or 4 out 1 in, then change to pace with smaller lineup. I'd have to test and see what I liked with playing as Warriors though.
To be honest I run very little freelance stuff now that plays are done. I call a play 95% of the time and i make call coming up the floor every possession. Only time I don't is on a fast break and just try and create with Lillard for drive or drive and dish and will run quick post up's to Aldridge if no time to run a play, or a quick PNR. Just play with it and see which one works for what you want to do. Go into scrimmage and don't shoot just run the different POE's with different lineups and see what fits.Basketball Playbooks
