The discussion for 2k17 rosters hasn't died. We just moved it to groupme so it's easier to communicate. We are constructing a spreadsheet that will have ratings, tendencies, badges and everything else you need to edit a roster across all platforms. There's lots of research to be done for CAPS, sigs, transaction history and vitals. So the more help we get, the faster we can churn out rosters for 2k17!

I will help if needed ...One thing i am wishing 2k17 does is let us edit the ages again for the Historic players like Shaq/T-Mac/Carter/Iverson/Kobe...So we can make a ultimate roster to play with in My Gm/ My League...If we can edit ages in 2k17 we should do a early 2000's Roster with All Draft Classes Leading up to now.

I was just playing with VTCRB's college roster and it had me thinking.

Make a roster of real or fictional college players on the 30 NBA teams all aged 33/34/35 or higher (depending on testing) with peak start at age 37/38. This should simulate players "declaring for the draft" through retiring and being the best they could be if they make it to their senior year.

If 1/4 of the league retires you should be able to replenish the league with the 150 prospects that come out of the following Draft Class through both the draft and free agency. Obviously these DCs would need to have all players aged 33+ or whatever as well.

Now obviously this wouldn't directly replicate college ball or college recruiting season as the worst team rarely gets the nations #1 prospect but it could be fun nonetheless. I am not sure if my thoughts are being translated into this idea very well but it sounds like something that could be successful.

Idea I got from the Bill Simmons Book of Basketball: "What If?" scenarios for each franchise. Stuff like:

-What if the Blazers had drafted Michael Jordan instead of Sam Bowie?

-What if the Pistons had drafted Carmello Anthony instead of Darko?

-What if the Magic had kept Chris Webber with Shaq?

-What if the Magic had landed Tim Duncan in free agency in 2000?

-What if the Grizzlies had won the draft lottery and gotten LeBron?

-What if Kobe had been traded (there are like 50 of these that you could do, Bulls, Pistons, there was even a Kobe for LeBron trade that was discussed in 2007)?

I'm just getting back into 2K after years away so I wouldn't be the right person to do this, but would be a fun idea that I don't think has been done before.

There are so many you can do.

-The Pistons almost got Allen Iverson in a trade in early 2000s.

-The Hawks drafting Chris Paul.

-The Mavs re-signing Steve Nash in 2005.

-Celtics win the 1997 Lottery and get Tim Duncan.

-For the 1986 Celtics team you could do what if Len Bias didn't die.

-What if Grant Hill had stayed healthy? Can either do him at full strength with T-Mac or do if the Magic had landed Duncan instead of T-Mac in free agency that year.

-Jason Kidd traded to the Spurs for Tony Parker.

-What if Shaq and Kobe had been able to keep it together?

-There are a ton of Garnett ones. I think he almost got dealt to the Lakers instead of the Celtics in 2007?

-Stern not vetoing the CP3 trade to the Lakers.

-Hornets keeping Kobe instead of trading him to the Lakers.

-Michael Ray Richardson staying off drugs. Could have been an all-time point guard.

-Wizards keeping Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace, and Juwan Howard together.

-Blazers draft Durant instead of Oden.

-Suns winning the coin toss for the 1969 #1 pick and getting Kareem.

Hi all, here is an expanded outline of what we hope to accomplish in 2k17. Please look over and give your thoughts.

Goals
Create season rosters for 2016-1984 starting on opening day
Create playoff rosters for 2016-1984
Create accompanying draft classes for each year
Keep 2016-17 roster updated once a week throughout season with current transactions, accessories, ratings etc.
Draft classes for 2017-2020
Updated draft classes after combine and draft declarations in May
Fictional draft classes that compliment each other and go with 2016-17 roster
Other rosters can be created off all the accumulated caps from season rosters including:
Best teams of all time
Best players of each franchise
Best 500 players for fantasy draft
And so on...

Project Teams to be formed and a general timeline
- Research and collecting team - starting immediately
- Spreadsheet input team - starting immediately
- 2017-2020 draft class creation team - starting immediately (research and starting spreadsheet)
- Fictional draft class creation team - starting immediately (creating player types and starting spreadsheet)

- CAPS appearance creation team - starting after completion of launch day spreadsheet

- add caps to season roster
- begin editing 2k roster based on spreadsheet (team composition, players, coach settings, playbooks)

Projects that can start after roster is edited (11/15)
- Sim seasons and compare stats
- Gameplay testing for cpu v cpu
- Gameplay testing for cpu v user
- edit players numbers accordingly
- edit gameplay settings and sliders accordingly
- upload to 2k
- post roster on OS listing all settings and info

I have 2 of these complete for ps4 top 500 players all time fantast draft and all time best franchise players.
