Please continue with the awesome stories. If anyone has questions about any recruits I'd be happy to let you know how they've done in my play thru's.

I plan on doing draft classes again on 2k21...I've actually already started putting together some names and player types. If there are any player types you'd like to see I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks for using my draft classes!

DC8 should be online around 6:00 pacific time.

I am already looking at the Michigan St boys (Goodson and Walton) and seeing what I can do to land them. Imagining my rotation if ever I do:

PG Tre Hunter (2020, Pick 1-14
    SG Gary Allen
SF Juice Harrington (2021, Pick 1-1)
    PF Kevin Love
    C Jamar Goodson
    6th Jonas Claver (2021, Pick 1-16)
    7 Everett Quinn (2022, Pick 1-12)
    8 Gunnar Walton
    9 Elias Viggiano (2022, Pick 2-1)

Love it JB, looking forward to diving into this class. I've got a question in regards to 2k21. I've started planning mine out as well, and I am doing them by years, like 2020, 2021, 2022, etc. Starting in my fictional 2021 class, I am going to start adding in high school players as that is the year the NBA will start allowing them to go prep to pro again. Do you think you're planning on doing that as well? Would love to see you incorporate that as well. My plan is to start treating my classes like the ones we saw in the early 2000's, where the best guys declared from HS, and only a handful of freshman and sophomores declared early since if you were good enough, you went right out of HS.

        Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

Thank you for all your hard work with these, this was my first time using fictional classes and it’s by far the most fun I’ve had on MyLeague in a long time. I’m currently in the 2032 season, so I’ve used two real classes, all of your classes, & I’m about halfway through jeffruel’s classes.

My SuperSonics expansion team has currently won 5 out of the last 6 Finals thanks to the dynamic duo of Desmond Cooper & Jason Sanders. Seriously, them together is unstoppable lol. Bobby Anderson, Louis Morgan, & Miles Bramos have been solid rotation guys for me as well.

I’m gonna try & get a couple more rings for this core as Cooper’s now 32 years old & entering the twilight of his career. Sanders has been arguably the face of the NBA as he enters his prime with 4 MVPs & 4 Finals MVPs

I would like to add this, I guess it depends on if I can get the ages to work properly in draft classes for the prospects coming out of high school.

Agreed. I would like to think 2k would make it easy for us to create 18 year olds in a draft class, but who knows. Even if they don't, I know it is possible with the age glitch, and I might try and figure out how to control that so it resets their age back to 18 when I upload. Either that, or have players reset their age back a year after being drafted. Neither are preferred when it really shouldn't be that difficult to fix.

It looks like there is going to be a delay on guys going straight form HS to the pros, but I think the G League option has to be considered in a similar light. I foresee this snagging 4-10 guys a year and then the rest working their way through college. Either way you look at it, it should leave for some creative storylines by draft class creators to hash out for next year.

I can’t wait to see what the two of you guys are able to create!

Dang really? I hadn’t seen that anywhere. I didn’t think about G-League though. I’ve gotta go back and write that in a couple places!

                  Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

Since I’m a teacher on summer break with plenty of free time, and I just finished my MyLeague run, I thought I would give everyone a final update on JB’s classes and how the players turned out in my MyLeague.

Just to give everyone an idea of how I run my MyLeague, I used the CelticLG roster and sliders with some bumps up in CPU success to make it a bit harder, JB’s draft classes, my draft classes, and I play as the Kansas City Monarchs, an expansion team. I also added the Hawaii Tropics, Anchorage Explorers, Las Vegas Jacks/Aces (they rebranded once during), and the Kansas City Huskies. I live in KC, so having two KC teams seemed fun to give them a nice rivalry. I generally play one out of every 5-6 games and elimination games in the playoffs and have been running this since about March. I run 36 team control to be able to help the bottom feeder teams make a turn around so they can move the appropriate pieces at the deadline. As the Monarchs, I tanked heavily for 2-3 years, and then tried to keep my core together.

This update will take place over the course of a couple weeks, as I will be counting down the top 15 prospects in JB’s draft classes. I’ll give a description of how their career went as if I were a scout, and then I will offer my analysis about the players. Not sure if anyone cares lol, but I’m bored as hell thanks to quarantine and summer break. This countdown will be how they performed in my MyLeague, not necessarily who was the highest overall. I look at their entire career as a whole and rank them.

Starting off, we have a nice set of 3 in the honorable mention section in no particular order.

                  Toni Twyman
Twyman was selected #11 overall out of North Carolina and would come off the bench his first 4 seasons in the NBA. He struggled early in his career only averaging 8, 7, and 13 points a game, before erupting in his 4th season off the bench for 20 points a game and 7 assists and earning 6th man of the year honors for the Sacramento Kings. After playing his way into a big deal, Twyman moved on and signed a max deal with the Anchorage Explorers for 5 seasons. Here he would average 20 points and 7 assists every year on an average franchise before moving on to the Utah Jazz for two years. His scoring numbers dropped off a bit, but he averaged nearly 9 assists a game. After two years in Utah he moved on to Dallas where he would spend 3 years, before closing out his career with 2 solid years with the Seattle Supersonics. Twyman was a very solid PG over the years, but did not enjoy much postseason success.
Awards: 4 Time All-Star, 6th Man of the Year Award
Jeffruel’s Take: Twyman was a player who was a complete afterthought to me, and then out of nowhere he popped up averaging 20 and 7. I actually went back and double checked JBs draft classes to figure out where he came from. I'm shocked he didn't win most improved player. I had a couple solid battles with him in the Western Conference Finals when I was a 1 seed, and the Explorers were a 3 seed.

                  Mattia Carboni
Mattia was drafted #9 to the Golden State Warriors where he instantly came in and made a major impact averaging 17 and 12. After 4 years with the Warriors, he signed a max deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder where he, Ibraham Mobley, Davonte Steel, and RJ Hampton were a force in the Western conference. Mattia saw a steep drop off his final two years in the league, but was still able to provide solid minutes off the bench for the Boston Celtics as they made a run to the NBA Finals.
                  Awards: 4 Time All-Star, 1st Team All-Rookie
Jeffruel’s Take: I had the 10th pick this year, and I was just praying Mattia would fall one extra pick but he didn’t. He was someone I followed very closely throughout his career, and I played the Thunder every single time they were on my schedule to see how he was progressing. I think Carboni is a guy who probably would have been selected to more All-Star games had he not played alongside Mobley for a lot of his career. He was a stud and the Thunder were GOOD. I have no idea how they didn’t win a championship with that core.

                  Cy Vasileiadis
Cy was drafted #3 overall to the Kansas City Monarchs in the same draft that saw the Monarchs draft Dominkyas Dambrauskas. Cy would spend the first 12 years of his career in Kansas City where he played a major part of the Kansas City 3-pete. He twice won the 6th man of the year award while averaging 19 points both years off the bench. He then was traded in the offseason to the Lakers where he had an off year averaging only 8 points a game. Many thought that Cy was over the hill, but he signed a free agent contract to go to join the Orlando super team and averaged 17 points off the bench for the Magic. After an eastern conference finals loss, Cy signed a 2 year deal in Denver and averaged 17 points and 10 points per game his two seasons there. His final season in the league, he was brought back to the Monarchs in an attempt to provide wisdom and mentorship to some of the younger players. Cy had a very solid 17 year career in the league.
Awards: 3 Time NBA Champion, 2 Time Sixth Man, 2nd Team All-Rookie
JeffRuel’s Take: Cy was the MAN. I took him and Dambrauskas back to back, and I debated trying to run him at PG for a bit, as well as SG, but I decided he would be great to run my 2nd unit as a scoring option. Him and Evertt Quinn were part of my under appreciated core that helped lead my Monarchs team in the second unit. Cy is definitely a dude who would have been a starter on another team had he not been playing behind Dambrauskas. He actually ended up as an 83 overall, which was better than Dambrauskas, but I just liked Dambrauskas shooting motion better so I kept starting him even though he was around an 81.

                      #15 Warren Kempton
Kempton was drafted #2 to the Orlando Magic where he and Jevon Rolle would form one of the best guard duos in the NBA at an early age. By Year 2, Kempton was consistently averaging 22 points a game. Kempton was an absolute star during his 13 years in Orlando, but never got the spotlight thanks to playing with Rolle, Juice Harrignton, DJ Trice, and Desmond Cooper throughout his career. After his 13 seasons in Orlando, he would move on to the Kansas City Huskies where he would average 15, 14, and 9 points per game in 3 seasons. Kemptons #11 jersey is hung in the rafters right next to his backcourt running mate, Jevon Rolle’s.
                      Awards: 4 Time All-Star, 1st Team All-Rookie
Jeffruel’s Take: When I played my first game against Kempton and Jevon Rolle, I realized how stacked that team was going to be for years to come. I posted that update earlier about playing against them, and they were up there for my toughest competition I faced during my MyLeague runs. Kempton was an absolute stud and definitely should have been selected to more All-Star games.

                      #14 Dominykas Dambrauskas
Dominykas Dambrauskas was drafted #2 to the Kansas City Monarchs expansion franchise in what would be their first ever draft pick, and boy what a pick it was. Dominykas immediately came in and made an impact as a rookie averaging 24 points a game with his knock down shooting en route to winning rookie of the year. He and Brighton Reed would form a 1-2 punch for the next decade, as Dominykas was part of 5 Kansas City Championships, a 3-pete early in his career, then two championships in his final 3 seasons in the league. The highlight of his career was hitting 16 3 pointers in one game to set the single game record. He would finish 6th on the all time 3 pointer list with 4178. Some thought he had an outside chance of making the Hall of Fame, but he appears to have just missed it. The Kansas City Monarchs recognize him as the kid who came in and changed their franchise and retired his #22 jersey.
Awards: 5 Time All-Star, 5 Time NBA Champion, 2 Time Finals MVP, Rookie of the Year, 1st Team All Rookie
Jeffruel’s Take: Dambrauskas was my first draft pick as I tanked year 1 and traded away the #4 pick the previous year for a pick in JB’s class the following year, and ended up with #2 and #3 this year and took Dambrauskas and Cy. I traded with the Sonics and they ended up with James Wiseman and LaMelo Ball, so I don’t think they would complain either as they both had awesome careers. I could have made a move with those two picks and move up and taken Juice, but after reading Dambrauskas bio about being a knock down 3 point shooter, I had to take him. He was just that, and it was damn good. His best year was actually as a rookie since he was the focal point of the offense that year, but once I got more players around him, he was able to do what he did best and be a spot up shooter. He peaked at about an 81, and didn’t grow much, but he had an awesome long career for me. He lost an entire year to injury one year, and if I didn’t end up with other knock down 3 point shooters, I think theres a chance he makes a run at #1 all time on the 3 point list.

                      #13 Devyn McCants
McCants was the #3 overall pick in the draft and was thrust into s starting role for the Memphis Grizzlies who paired along Ja Morant. They were a very strong duo for the next 7-8 years, before Ja would eventually move on. McCants really took off in his 5th year where he averaged 24 points a game. He would hover around 20 points per game every season, with a late breakout of 25.3 points a game at the age of 32. McCants didn't have much postseason success and would sign a free agent deal with Boston. His first year with Boston led to an Eastern Conference finals run, but his second season was lost to injury just 10 games into the season. He would go on to play 1 final season in las Vegas, averaging 13 points a game before hanging it up. McCants #6 jersey is retired in the Grizzlies arena.

Jeffruel’s Take: McCants was a dude I didn’t play against often, but when I did I hated it. He was so good in the mid range and it constantly forced me to bring my bigs out of the paint to try and block his shot. He was a fantastic scorer. Ja Morant ended up in the hall of fame, and McCants was in his prime when playing with him, so I have no clue how they didn’t have much success while there together.

Jeffruel, thanks for the post. I was actually curious how the last two classes would look since I may never actually make it that far haha. I've actually went ahead and restarted MyLeague with CelticLG's new roster and draft edits. Going to redo some landing spots for some players and see how it turns out this time. Like how in a wild turn of events the Knicks won the lottery and wound up picking Mobley with the first pick this time instead of Charlotte. I will say its pretty amazing how Celtic's tendency/badge changes and such makes the games a LOT more realistic.

It was pretty tough to rank guys 9-13 on this list and they could truly go in any order. I was staring at 5 guys who all had similar career success with All-Star game appearances, and little post season success.

                          #12 Ibraham Mobley
Drafted #1 to the Thunder, Mobley showed flashes of greatness early in his career, but it wasn’t until year 5 that he started averaging north of 20 points per game. Mobley always seemed to impact the game more than his stats would show. After 13 strong seasons in OKC paired with Devonte Steel, Mobley moved on to the Golden State Warriors for two seasons where he came off the bench and averaged 15 points a game both years. At one point, people thought that Mobley and the Thunder were going to be the next NBA dynasty, but they constantly ran into the Kansas City Monarchs in the conference finals. The Thunder would retire Mobley’s #34.

Jeffruel’s Take: The best way to describe Mobley was underwhelming. He always had a high overall, but really never impacted games like I expected him to. One of my playthroughs I drafted him #1 overall and I couldn’t get anything going with him so I ended up restarting that MyLeague. He had such a good supporting cast around him when he was with the Thunder but he really never did anything with it. Everett Quinn guarded him well every time I played them.

                          #11 Jevon Rolle
Jevon Rolle was selected #1 overall and had an outstanding 16 year career, but he will always be remembered for who was selected after him in Brighton Reed. Rolle would spend his entire career with the Orlando Magic forming a strong duo with Warren Kempton early in their careers. Rolle helped orchestrate the moves to form the Orlando Magic super team, which lasted only 2 years and had poor results. His final season with the Magic, they made one final run to the NBA finals and lost to the Kansas City Monarchs. Rolle’s #18 jersey is hung up in the Orlando rafters.

Jeffruel’s Take: Rolle was good. One of the guys I absolutely hated playing against and I really thought that him and Warren Kempton were my toughest competition when I would actually play games. The Magic made it to the eastern conference finals when they were the super team, but missed the playoffs entirely the next year. I know those stars were a bit over the hill, but I still felt like that was an incredible team. When I played against them, they were TOUGH, but the simulations did not like them one bit. They probably would have been better off had I not touched their team, but oh well.

                          #10 Jason Sanders
Jason Sanders was drafted #1 overall to the Utah jazz and averaged 23 points per game as a rookie. Over the next 8 seasons with the Jazz, he would be one of the game's best scorers, never averaging less than 23 a game. Sanders best year came when he averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, while shooting 47% from 3 point range. He left for the 76ers in the offseason and tore his ACL after scoring just 5 points with the 76ers in his first game. His entire season was lost, and he was cut in the off season. He signed a free agent deal with the Thunder and reminded Thunder fans of Kevin Durant while he was there. After 3 seasons there, he would finish out his career with 4 strong seasons in New Orleans where he was an effective sharp shooter. Sanders iconic #2 was retired by the Jazz.

Jeffruel’s Take: I kid you not, it seemed like Jason Sanders shot 95% from 3 when I played against the Jazz. Throughout his career. He really did not miss. At the height of his career he was sitting at an 89 overall and was one of the best scorers in the league. He is someone that I feel like could of easily been higher on this list had he been drafted to a better situation. Sanders is a guy that I never played with, but I really think I could have dominated with a shooter/athlete of his caliber.

Mobley just seems like a Knick. That sounds like a perfect fit. One of my favorite things I did in another play through was make sure Desmond Cooper and Julius Walker ended up in LA together and made them the next Shaq and Kobe. Let Cooper wear #2 and just watch him go off. He looks gooooood as a Laker.

I have Mobley on the Knicks on MyLeague as well. It's just makes so much sense. I also have Julius Walker and B.J. Temple on the Lakers. They'll be fine even after LeBron has called it quits.

Yeah. First MyLeague I set up Walker went to New Orleans and they always played like crap during the season and turned it up during the playoffs. At the end before I decided to redo it, they were on their way to a second title in three seasons. This time he was drafted by San Antonio. Last time I looked he was putting up 18/9/3. He wasn't putting up numbers like that till his fourth season last time. Which always goes to show it's where you drafted. Unless you're Desmond Cooper.
