Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes
#9 Desmond Cooper
After 15 years of strong play, the scoring machine Desmond Cooper is hanging it up. While he had a slow start to his career in Minnesota after being drafted #2 overall, he finally hit his stride in year 3 when he elevated his scoring up to 22 points per game. He spent his first 7 and a half years in Minnesota averaging close to 24 points a game before being traded to the Celtics at the deadline for 3 future first round picks. Cooper would then walk in free agency after the year and join the Orlando Magic Super Team with un impressive results as a team, but he did earn two all star appearances with the Magic, and was arguably the teams best player. The next two years were spent in Detroit in a bench role averaging 15 points per game. Just when you thought he was done, he signed a 1 year deal with Denver and averaged 19 points per game mentoring their younger players. He would close out his career with Memphis in a bench role averagine 10 a game.
Awards: 6 Time All-Star
Jeffruel’s Take: Man..This hurts having Desmond so low, but in this playthrough he honestly wasn’t the Desmond Cooper I know he can be. In some of my other playthroughs he was a multiple time MVP winner. One year with the Texas Lonestars, an expansion he played for, Cooper averaged 40 a game. The dude consistently dropped 60+ points. I honestly thought it was a glitch and then I played him and he torched me. I signed him in free agency and he dominated for me as well. But that was all in a parallel universe..I know he could easily end up #1 if other people made this list, but unfortunately he’s stuck at 9. He was still a solid player and multiple time all star, but he just never took that next step. He peaked at an 85, when I’ve seen him as high as 89 before. The Timberwolves must have ruined his development.
#8 Julius Walker
Julius Walker was selected 4th overall to the Kansas City Huskies in the same draft where the Huskies drafted Tre Hunter. Walker would come in and average 21 points a game and 10 rebounds as a rookie making an immediate impact. Walker would spend all 12 seasons in Kansas City winning 3 championships in 6 years while being named an All-Star 6 times. He was a constant threat for a double double every time he stepped out onto the floor, and was an absolute force down low. At 7’1 286 pounds, Walker eventually began to break down physically, and he fell off a cliff around the age of 30. While many thought he would turn out to be a bust, he turned out to be one of the games premier Centers for a short span. Walker would have his #50 Jersey hung up in the rafters in Kansas City.
Awards: 3 Time NBA Champion, 6 Time All-Star, 1st Team All-Rookie, Finals MVP
Jeffruel’s Take: Walker was an absolute beast and dominated from day 1. Next to impossible to guard in the lane. His career seemed like it was catching lightning in a bottle, as he didn’t last long, but man he was dominant when he was young. In my opinion, he was the best scoring center in the game for a bit. He’s definitely not a player that I like to play with, as I like my posts to really be all about shot blocking and athleticism and boards, not scoring, but man he was solid for the Huskies. He was fun to play against and I loved his story. He gets the nod ahead of Cooper thanks to his 3 NBA finals, but I couldn't push him any higher up the list.Comment

Appreciate that! I'd definitely be enjoying it a lot more if I hadn't been on break for the last 3 months anyway, and if the pools were open lol.Comment

Did not think there was ever a universe where Cooper didn't turn into a MVP candidate. Just shows how team and coach can change how their careers turn out.Comment

Hi guys! I am playing myleague with CelticLG's roster. Celtic have done some badge and tencencies change for draft class 1 and guess I should get that. Should I download it in the middle of the season (allstar weekend just ended) or can it cause glitches?Comment

#7 Juice Harrington
After 16 seasons Juice Harrington is hanging it up. Juice came into the NBA as one of the most hyped players ever, and went number 1 overall to the Chicago Bulls. Juice would team up with Preston Shaw and form one of the best teams in the East for the next 12 years. But after 12 long years of getting knocked out before the finals, the Bulls decided to rebuild and trade Juice to the Tropic for 3 first round picks. Juice would spend 2 years there before being shipped to Orlando to join the Magic superteam. Despite being past his prime, the lure of Juice commanded 3 future first round picks. Juice would spend 2 years in Orlando, falling in 7 games to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, and then missing the playoffs the following year. Juice was then moved to Vegas in the same trade as DJ Trice where he had little success outside of filling seats. Juice came into the NBA with high expectations, but ultimately did not live up to the hype finishing with only 7 All Star appearances, and only 5 times averaging over 20 points in a season. While this might be solid for any typical player, Juice had Hall of Fame potential and came up short.
Awards: 7 Time All-Star, 1 Time All-Defense, 1st Team All-Rookie
JeffRuel’s Take: When I read about Juice Harrington for the first time, I thought this guy would for sure end up as a 95+ overall. It’s hard to call a 7 time All-Star a bust, but with the expectations that the Juice had for his career, it is honestly a bit of a let down for me. Juice peaked at a 89 overall, and never really made an impact in the stats over the course of the whole season. Playing against him was a different story though. He was absolutely money from the corner, and he probably hit 4 3’s against me every time I played him, despite not actually being a good 3 point shooter. He put me on some absolute posters during his time with the Bulls as well. I thought teaming him up with the other guys in Orlando would have made a dominant team, but man was I wrong. Vegas was an absolute disaster but seemed fitting based on the fame he would bring to Vegas. Unpopular opinion here, but if I had the #1 pick in this draft class, I take Dambrauskas over Juice and don’t look back.
#6 Tre Hunter
Drafted #5 to the Kansas City Huskies, Hunter and Julius Walker became a fantastic inside out duo. Hunter, known for his 3 point shot would average 17 points a game as a rookie while being named 1st Team All Rookie. After 5 good seasons, Hunter elevated his game to another level averaging 25 points per game for the next 5 years. At the height of his career, Hunter was one of the best scorers in the NBA and was absolutely deadly from outside boasting a career 3 point percentage of 42%. Hunter and the Huskies were one of the few teams besides the Monarchs to enjoy some post season success. The Huskies, led by Hunter, brought home 3 NBA Championships in 6 seasons. Hunter would spend all 17 of his seasons with the Huskies. He feels like a Hall of Fame snub. The voters got this one wrong.
Awards: 3 Time NBA Champion, 2 Time Finals MVP, 6 Time All-Star, 1st Team All-Rookie
JeffRuel’s Take: Tre Hunter does not get enough love from you guys on here!!! Even when Desmond Cooper was going off in my other MyLeagues, Tre Hunter ended up being better for me. The dude is the best shooter from JB’s classes without a doubt in my mind. Purest stroke, lightning quick, and it was so easy to master as a user. In this MyLeague he and Julius Walker were next to impossible to guard. Hunter really reminded me of a Steph Curry. The only reason I didn’t take him in this final MyLeague was to try something new, but I was glad to watch him have success for another team. I gave him the nod over Juice thanks to his 3 NBA titles and 2 finals MVPs. If Tre Hunter ended up on the Kansas City Monarchs rather than the Huskies, there's a good chance he would have found himself inside the top 5 of this list.
Alright guys, that's all I have for a day or so before we see the top 5. What are our reactions so far? Who's too high? Who’s too low? What are our projections for the top 5? Who missed the cut? JB, have any of these surprised you yet? Sound off.Comment

I’m loving these updates. Off the top of my head i predict, Brighton, Trice, Woodson, and Woods on the top 5. Not sure who the other one is though.
My top 5 with regards to if every player goes to a situation best suited for them is the following:
Mobley
McCants
Kempton
Cooper
Brighton
My personal favorite though is Tre Hunter.

Man. I pretty much just started my second MyLeague run so this has been informative. It's insane how different this has looked compared to my first run. I give it up to JB for making such diverse draft classes. My weird Juice story was despite all the highlights and 3-point shooting, he was drafted to Seattle with Savion White. Who actually turned out to be the better player. In that first MyLeague White never went past 89 if I remember correctly, but he was an All-Star by his 3rd season and All-NBA.
My Top 5
DJ Trice - Generational talent doesnt even begin to describe how amazing he was.
Jabari Woodson - Almost averaged a triple-double his rookie season. He was an amazing player.
Brighton Reed - Toronto tanked for him. He was so good they weren't able to go back to the lottery to get another star.
Desmond Cooper
Ibraham Mobley - It took him some time to get it rolling but once he did he was a league MVP and dominate.
Personal favorite is Mateo Delgado. Crazy how that whole draft class turned out.Comment

Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes
I'm curious as to which players turned out to be sleepers. This goes for anyone that was projected to be drafted outside of the Lottery and performed better than expected, making them a draft steal. So far in my current MyLeague, I drafted the Italian Center Elia Viggiano at 1-26, and Jonas Claver at 1-16. Claver is my starting SF and spaces the floor so well with his 3pt shot, and is a good Perimeter defender for me on the other end of the floor, giving me an awesome 3 & D Wing to play alongside Tre Hunter. Viggiano is a contributer as a rebounder, rim protector, and passer out of the post as my backup Center. Who are some of the gems you guys have discovered?
