    Missing ratings and possible workarounds

Some ratings are missing from individual player make ups. It's either a bug or deliberate. From what I can tell, moving shots (3 pt and mid range) and contested shots (3 pt and mid range) are missing. Do you know of any others?

The tendencies for these are still editable.

If we don't get the ability to edit the ratings, here are 3 badges you can adjust in our roster to make the best of things.

Steady shooter reduces penalties to contested shots.

Difficult shots reduces penalties for hop steps, spins, stepbacks, and pull-ups.

Deadeye reduces the impact of a defender who is closing out.

The obvious negatives of this workaround are these badges don't distinguish between mid and 3 point, and they're imprecise.

Re: Missing ratings and possible workarounds

I think this effects user control more than anything. Like you said the badges can account for contested, open, off-dribble, etc, and in real life percentage world most players aren't a significantly better/worse shooter from mid-range and/or the three point line.. Some guys a little better/worse from one than the other, but in most cases they are only taking 2-3 mid range shots a game so the volume isn't really high enough to determine how accurate the percentages are anyways. Often times those shots are taken out of necessity or rushed, which again makes them a bit less reliable.

Durant is really the only huge difference I can think of off the top of my head. He's historically great in the mid-range (maybe the best ever), and percentage wise good but not elite from 3.. This can still be reflected in the ratings though by boosting his mid-range shooting, the badges that effect how he does from each spot off the dribble, open, etc, I don't think those would really change from spot to spot.. Meaning if a player shot 50% from mid and 40% from 3, I don't know that shooting one off the dribble would make it jump 10% and the other lower 10%. I would assume in most cases they would be similar change.

In sucks they removed them, because they were easy to fill with modern shot tracking, but I think the only way this really could hurt game-play drastically would be if the user was deliberately making a player shoot 10 mid-range shots a game when in reality they maybe take 2 a game.. That could lead to more makes/misses than it should.

Agreed. I think player skill can be reflected with these badges.

The tendencies are much more important, and they’re in.

It’s deliberate. Per what I’ve read and heard

Mazique spoke on it in one of his many streams. I’m not a fan of it. Especially since the tendency ratings are way off. Current and classic teams. Go look at Devan George. They just make stuff up

Standing layup is gone. Attribute and tendency. I'm trying to lower shot percentages in myleague but struggling. Past 2ks were simple. Just lower standing layup.

I lowered other attributes with a little sucess. Not much. It seems the attrubute is still there but hidden. I edited Westbrook to 70 mid 65 3 point and close 50. He still shot 50 percent. Has to be standing layup.

Its definitely a step back. I was plugging in ratings I had last year (disclosure I change intangibles to 25 for everyone) and a guy like Pat Bev went from a 79 in my ratings to an 82 this year because it seems they combined several ratings.

They replaced ratings with badges.. I would find it hard to believe a player takes enough standing lay-up shots to drastically raise/lower percentages.. How often does a player get a standing lay-up attempt? And when they do how often should they miss a standing lay-up attempt?

I would also check tendencies. Russ does shoot close to 50% from the floor on all shots that are 2 pointers, his percentages are mostly dragged down because even though he's not converting a high number of threes he took almost 6 attempts last season. If Russ for example was only taking 3 outside shots a game instead of 6 in your numbers that could make up the difference.

Badges also increase overall this year. IDK how many badges Pat has, but if any of them are HOF it makes a pretty sizable difference.

What about the combined badges? Things like Deadeye not being separate for Mid and 3PT worries me. What happens with Curry and Harden, who both probably deserve Hall of Fame Deadeye because of their three-point shooting, but aren't as good from mid-range?

Curry only shoots open mid range shots generally, and struggles on contested mids, but now he can make them contested or open.

No Standing Layup rating also worries me. What are we supposed to do with big men who have great touch at the rim (Embiid, Drummond, Kanter, etc.), who would deserve a high Standing Layup rating but a relatively low Driving Layup? Now they do both equally.
