Quick Update: Marvell has a ps5 and I seemed to have secured one last night but weird late cancellations are still a possibility lol so we will see. The ps4 version of the class should be out in less than a week so u will get a lot of storyline stuff in the next couple of days and a scouting report when we drop the class. After that we will be recreating the draft class on the ps5 and every draft class after will only be on the ps5.

Top International Players

As we start to wrap up the college season we will first take a quick look at some guys overseas that will be heading for the NBA draft this coming year. We start off with Lionel Martin who was originally placed at #12 on the preseason big board. It is no surprise to any that he will be coming to the states next year as he has continued to dominate in the Euroleague. As of now, the big man is expected to be a lottery pick and even push for a top 5 selection as his offensive game has scouts very intrigued. His size allows him to dominate down low, but he also has a solid shot and his game allows him to be very effective for some pick and pops.

Next up is the kid from Australia, Isaac Sykes. A few years ago he was a young, raw talent but managed to gain the attention of scouts in a game against the USA 18U team where he put on an offensive clinic. Since then he has gained a more consistent jump shot and has the ability to hit an NBA 3. He doesn’t lack on defense as he has improved his footwork. He does lack some athletic ability and that might limit him in the league. Currently, he is looking at the middle of the first round but could go as early as the 10th selection.

Another foreign player expected to be grabbed in the first round is Nicola Rossi from Italy. For years he has been on NBA scout’s radar and he has shown consistent growth on offense. Overseas he has become a more consistent scorer and has improved his 3pt percentage by an insane amount from 39% to 48% along with averaging more than one assist per game more than he did last year. Rossi has the potential to be one of the biggest steals of the draft.




Conference Tournaments

ACC:

The ACC once again was a super conference as we saw several top 25 teams battle it out for the conference crown. Many were hoping to see another battle between some of the top big men in the country in the ACC title game, but Derrick Mercer and the Tar Heels were upset by the 3 seed and #17 ranked Virginia Cavaliers in the semifinal to set themselves up with the Duke Blue Devils who defeated Notre Dame.

This would be a huge matchup for both teams as Duke was looking to lock up a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament which came into question after they dropped a couple of games in their final six and Virginia is looking to make a run for a potential 2 seed after it looked like they would end up with a 4 or 5 seed. The game started about as expected for the Blue Devils as all of their NBA talent was firing from all cylinders but Virginia was able to hang in the game from being carried on the back of likely first round selection Terrance Lyons. Duke guard Damir Clayton was able to knock down a couple of late baskets and Duke would head into the break up by 9. The second half went very similar to the first half and Virginia needed Lyons to finish the way Clayton closed out the first half, but Duke’s Corey Williams was too locked in when Lyons had the ball and Virginia’s comeback attempt ended in failure.



Big East:

The Big East was very similar to the Big 12 as they had 3 dominant teams in St.Johns, Xavier and Marquette. As expected St.Johns made it to the Big East Championship with an easy road ahead of them and Xavier was able to knock off Marquette pretty easily.

This matchup has been an interesting one as Xavier is more of a complete team while St.John’s is carried by a top projected pick in Chris Iverson but they have some guys who catch heat from time to time. When it came to this matchup though, Chris Iverson’s squad didn’t come up with some big plays and the game was left on Iverson’s shoulders. Xavier’s true freshman gem Ricky Rose was able to do enough on the defensive side to control Iverson while Rod Roosevelt handled the majority of the offensive work as St.Johns didn’t have anyone talented enough to defend him in the post. Iverson’s 25 points weren’t enough as St.John's only shot 37% and would fall to potential 1 seed Xavier.



Big 10:

Another team trying to lock up a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament was Michigan State but they fell to an up and coming Illinois team in the semifinal which would set the Illini up against the #2 seed, Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big 10 Championship.

The underclassmen led Illini were able to jump out to a quick 13-4 lead within the first few minutes of the game before the Buckeyes were able to settle down and make it a winnable game. The two headed monster of Justin Harper and Lorenzo Banks was able to do what they've done all year and that's carry Ohio State on their backs. Banks was able to knock down several shots in the latter half of the first 20 minutes while Harper dominated the boards and was able to convert down low. Dominique Kilpatrick was having some trouble, but up and coming star Myron Mitchell was doing most of the work for Illinois as his scoring ability allowed the Illini to hold a 2 point lead heading into the half. Sadly for Illinois the lead they quickly were losing continued to go away and vanished for good as Kilpatrick continued to struggle and Lorenzo Banks continued to dominate Brandon Armstrong. In the end, Ohio State would run away with a 79-65 win to claim the Big 10 Title.



Big 12:

The Big 12 was an interesting conference this year because it is completely unknown how good the top of the conference really is because the majority of the conference was absolutely atrocious, to say the least. Kansas ran through the conference with only 1 loss and Oklahoma State wasn’t far behind with just 2 losses in conference play. At the beginning of the year, we weren’t too high on Texas with their lack of talent but they managed to only drop 4 conference games and are a pretty respectable team. The conference tournament went just as expected as Kansas ran through everyone and Oklahoma State did pretty much the same besides their close back and forth battle against Texas to get another chance to take down the Jayhawks.

Kansas and Oklahoma State combined for only 3 losses in conference play and 2 of those were against each other. Both teams were looking to secure their first Big 12 title in at least 3 years along with trying to take home the season series. This game would also be the final one of a 2 season rivalry between sophomore SF prospects Shelvin Ellis of Kansas and Martell Beasley of Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State started off slow which is typical of Kansas’ opponents because of how dominant their defense is but the Jayhawks weren’t having too much offensive success either. Nothing notable happened as Kansas went into the half up 28-26. The second half started with a bang as Beaselly knocked down back to back threes for the Cowboys while Kansas’ struggles continued. Oklahoma State would jump out to a 12 point lead with about 10 minutes left before Kansas found some life in PF Khalil Bentley, who was able to score some quick buckets on the Cowboys' smaller lineup. Bentley’s comeback charge wasn’t enough due to an off night from Shelvin Ellis as Oklahoma State would hold on to win the Big 12 Championship.



Pac 12:

We finally got to see a conference tournament that had more than a couple of unexpected turns as Washington was upset in their first game by a piss poor Oregon State team which allowed USC to easily make a run to take on California in the championship after they upset the top Pac 12 regular season team in the Oregon Ducks.

After the early season ending injury to Levi Hopkins, the Trojans looked for another big time weapon to go along with big man Reece Akua and they found that in another big man, Monty Reeves who had a strong sophomore campaign. The duo named the “Twin Towers” went to work all year grinding out wins with tons of low post and that's exactly what happened to start the Pac 12 Title game as they combined for 12 of USC’s first 15 points. California is led by a star big man of their own in senior Tyler Ware but only one good big wasn’t enough to stop the Trojans. Talking about both halves separately isn't worth the time because nothing really changed. Ware did as much as he could and even had a solid game on both ends of the court but USC was just too much and ran away with the Pac 12 Championship by a score of 79-63.



SEC:

In one of the funnier storylines this year we saw Tyreke Atkins of the Florida Gators have some twitter beef with his brother, who was a former Kentucky Wildcat, Tyshaun Atkins. This storyline couldn’t have worked out any better as both teams split during conference play and have run the table all the way to the conference championship game to set up another matchup between the top 3 teams.

The game got off to a hot start as Tyreke Atkins and Malachi Higgins had a mini back and forth battle before Javon White made his presence known for the Wildcats with back to back steals leading to scores. The Gators would jump right back at Kentucky as Gerald Williams and Quin Young started to get going and would lead Florida into the half with a 4 point lead. The second half was a back and forth battle but upperclassman Blake McLaughlin stepped up down low and took away Gerald William’s offensive game and at the same time, Javon White went on a tear. White was hitting crazy jump shots along with blowing by defenders as he had a second half for the ages. Tyreke Atkins did everything he could to keep the Gators from blowing the lead late, but it wasn’t enough as his brother’s prediction would come true as Kentucky took the season series and SEC Championship behind Javon White’s career game of 29 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals.

(Another quick update: My PS5 was supposed to come on Saturday but it got here today so I'm gonna be jumping forward and working on DC2 while Marvell finishes up DC1 on the ps4. This means DC1 on the ps4 may take a few days longer than originally expected. Once that's done we will have a better idea of how we will handle recreating DC1 for the ps5 and continuing the work I start on for DC2.)

NCAA Tournament - Final Four


#2 St.Johns vs #4 North Carolina

While St.Johns has been a top team all year they weren’t expected to make it this far considering they couldn’t win their conference but they were able to knock off the top team in the country to reach the final four. The Tar Heels had an easier path than any other team as the toughest team they have seen was 6 seeded Iowa State. Heading into their first game against a real threat, the national player of the year, Derrick Mercer, and North Carolina will try to knock off the offensive player of the year, Chris Iverson, and the St.Johns Red Storm.

The game got off to a pretty slow start as St.Johns was running a perfect zone defense to eliminate Derrick Mercer from doing any damage while Chris Iverson failed to hit a few shots to take advantage of his team’s defensive dominance. North Carolina was able to adjust and it allowed Derrick Mercer to get going as he scored on three straight possessions to give UNC their first lead of the game. St.Johns made their first adjustment of the game which was now to double team Mercer immediately when he got the ball but that only caused more issues as UNC countered allowing Corey Tucker to get open for a bunch of looks as he hit four 3’s in the latter half of the first and UNC would head into the half up by 11. The second half started and it went back and forth for a while until Iverson was finally able to catch heat as he knocked down a few 3’s and a couple of jump shots to bring the game within 6 with 5 minutes left. North Carolina needed to make something happen as their lead and season were on the line and they went to the pick and roll which had been dominant for them all year. Mercer showed why he was the player of the year as St.Johns wasn’t able to stop him down low in the closing minutes and Chris Iverson couldn’t make the comeback by himself as the Tar Heels finished off St.Johns and would head to the championship.




#1 Kentucky vs #1 Florida

We thought we saw these teams face off for the final time in the SEC title game when Kentucky beat the Gators to win the season series but now we get to see them play for the fourth time and in the only matchup between the two teams that will actually mean anything. Like UNC, Kentucky didn’t have a very challenging road to the final four while their opponent is coming off a big win as Florida knocked off #2 Ohio State in a very close matchup. Tyreke Atkins looks for revenge and some bragging rights not just over the Wildcats but over his brother from their preseason twitter battle.

Unlike the other final four game, this one got off to a fast start as a bad pass by Quin Young was jumped by defensive player of the year, Javon White who took it back for an electric dunk to give Kentucky the first score of the game. Tyreke Atkins would quiet the Kentucky crowd down immediately when he knocked down a 3 right in the face of Malachi Higgins. From here both teams went back and forth with very little defense being played. Both teams went into halftime shooting over 50% as Kentucky held a 41-40 lead over their conference rivals. Both teams made defensive adjustments to open the half and it became the total opposite of the first half. Malachi Higgins who has been lights out shooting all tournament had trouble finding open looks and took some pretty horrific shots. For Florida Atkins and Young weren’t able to play their game as Kentucky was taking away the 3 ball, but Gerald Williams finally was able to find his rhythm as he started gashing the Kentucky defense on the drive and it allowed Florida to take control late. With Florida up by 5 with four minutes left Kentucky needed something to go their way on offense and that happened as Higgins finally found his rhythm as he hit a big 3 and then found Blake McLaughlin down low to tie it up with 2 minutes left. Both teams failed to score on their next two possessions as it allowed Florida to have the ball with the clock running out. Tyreke Atkins had the ball with the game and his reputation on the line and he didn’t disappoint as he hit Higgins with a disgusting double crossover into a spin before stepping back from the help defense by Javon White and nailing the game winner from the left side of the foul line to send the Gators to the championship.

NCAA Tournament - National Championship


#4 North Carolina vs #1 Florida

After close wins for both UNC and Florida, they are set to face off in a national championship which will fulfill one of two storylines. Can the hometown kid, Derrick Mercer, who chose to come to a powerhouse having a couple of mediocre seasons help turn them around and win their first championship in over a decade instead of going to Duke or will it be Tyreke Atkins deciding to go his own path instead of the family pipeline to Kentucky and win a national championship like his brother but with the rival Florida Gators?

Florida had a hot start in their final four game against Kentucky and that trend continued into the title game as both Tyreke Atkins and Quin Young were able to knock down a couple of shots while North Carolina struggled to find open looks. With a quick 10-3 lead for Florida, it was in the hands of Derrick Mercer to get North Carolina out of the early hole and he did just that with a couple of buckets down low to cut the Gator lead to 3. For the next 10 minutes, we saw both teams trade buckets as Atkins was in peak form and Corey Tucker was surprisingly managing to keep up with the likely top 10 pick. In the closing minutes of the half Gerald Williams made an incredible play after a made basket as he stole the inbounds pass out of nowhere and finished with an and-1. This play gave Florida all of the momentum and they finished the half on a nice run to go up by 9. The Gator’s momentum would carry over into the second half as Atkins couldn’t miss and Gerald Williams was locking up North Carolina’s forwards. Mercer did everything that he could possibly do but Florida just couldn’t miss. Pretty soon the game was getting out of hand as Florida went up by 17 with 8 minutes to play. Finally, North Carolina showed some life as Corey Tucker knocked down back to back 3’s and Mercer made a couple of shots down low as UNC went on a 10 point run to cut the to 9 with 5 minutes left. What looked like possibly the greatest couple back of all time was short-lived as Quin Young hit what seemed to be the dagger as he knocked down an and-1 3 which gave Corey Tucker his 5th and final foul and in return took away UNC’s main outside scoring threat. Florida would soon finish off the Tar Heels and take home the National Championship.

Dope work!! enjoy your content... But how do you pick which college your All American players go to and who is comming out early into the NBA draft?

We just brain storm different storylines we want to work with. Then from there we just look at how real life drafts have gone, plus we take into consideration how real life recruits move and what schools continue to be powerhouses and what not. Most of what we do has been pre-planned, it's rarely something on the fly.

Quick update: The conversion to DC1 to next-gen is going pretty well. Working hard to get it released soon.
