I recently just finished a massive historical roster project and wanted to create a post detailing information so anyone can do an entire re-sim of the past 20 years.
To begin this roster has 29 full teams (the pelicans are a filler squad in this) each with at least 13 real players and a specific. salary filler, either created by me or edited from the base roster. I did my best to create quality created players, and did multiple test sims to make sure nothing was too out of the ordinary.
With that out of the way, I'm going to start detailing things that I made to go with this roster.
First off I have a ready save under my gamertag Lgoldberg12. So if you go to start a MyLeague, you can download and use my save. It has everything set up except for Mike Miller. His age and years pro are incorrect because I just very recently updated his player model. It's an easy fix though, you just have to look up his age at the time on Basketball Reference and set years pro to 0.
Anyways If you use this save, I recommend looking at the MyLeague settings to make sure everything is to your liking. I also need to mention that you can't change the rule making the conference quarterfinals 5 games.
Also look at the sim control settings. I set it to draft manually because I prefer the drafts to go similarly to how they did in real life. Make any changes you want to.
If your not going to use my save you must know that your going to have to set all these rookie years pro to zero. Does not take long though.

I made sliders for gameplay and my league. Both under my gamertag. There is also another set of sliders for the 08-09 season that will be used up until about 2015.
I also have a full collection of draft classes, me and multiple people put together. So shoutout BawdyIntegral33, Wonzie, and ColinDaBoss.
Some of the classes are a bit thin, but all of these have at least 17 players and no auto gen players who will end up being good.

Some rookies in these draft classes have incorrect vitals. That is partially my fault for using player dna, but partially 2K's for not allowing me to edit years pro in draft classes. It is mostly just players having extra years pro. That's an easy fix, just sort each team by age and find the rookies who are not listed in the rookie report.
Here is a list of yearly adjustments you can consider doing. These are things that happened in real life that you can pretty easily do if you want to.

Nash Freelance Boost (Touches)
2004 - Fill squad becomes hornets
Hornets become bobcats
Michael Redd Freelance Tendency boost
2005 -New Ray Allen (Bald version)
2006 -Division winners are not guaranteed top 3 seeds (rule change)

For picking these rebrands out though, I recommend using the branding from guys like Travis and PATRIOTFANATTIC. They have some of the better ones. However sometimes the courts bug.
