Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
Yes, but I am complicating it even further after I get through the 2nd round of edits. It has a lot to do with general overall stats, shooting efficiency, defensive movement stats, etc.
I will explain more of it in the next couple of months and I hope to even have someone examine the spreadsheet when finished to help round out new and improved player ratings and badges for 2K23.Comment

Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
I have successfully filled out all the attributes for the majority of players on each roster. The one thing I'm doing another walk-through of is player stealing ability which doesn't seem to be high enough across the board. Stay tuned for completion in the next few days or so.Comment

Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
I have started calculating my new and improved player PTVIs via my new statistical metric system. I am kind of handling a few different things at once, obviously some of which doesn't involve touching the roster. Like I said before, this is more of a long-term project I'm getting together for 2K23. Lots of extra time put in this year and overall happy I made the mistake I did.Comment

Hey ! Will you be updating rosters in terms of player movement? Eg, Michael carter Williams still on the Magic on your roster. Will you be making any more improvements to this roster? Hanging for a detailed roster for the Xbox one.Comment

Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
My focus is to perfect the details of the upcoming roster for new generation 2K23. Depending on the time I have left, I may try to make this on time for Xbox Series X on 2K22. I was putting in way too much effort for something I'm not even going to use. However, my spreadsheet below details everything I have done (much of which I stopped saving to this current Xbox One roster for timing purposes). If you're really expecting this to be your roster, I wouldn't hesitate to go through and make the changes team by team.Comment

Yes I will do so once I round out the new and improved PTVI scores. To be honest, it's half that and half personal knowledge. That's what's gonna make up for the best results in 2K23 (and possibly new generation 2K22 in a month or so - see above post).Comment

Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
Just wanted to share a true story:
Using my NBA 21 Reality roster while playing NBA 2K21 sometime in late 2020 or early 2021, I actually simulated the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons all the way up until the 2022 finals, where the simulations led up to a Celtics vs Warriors finals. This was almost two years in advance. This shows how trustworthy my rosters are on a consistent basis.Comment

For those that were asking for additional information on my PTVI metric, I present to you my newest version of the calculation. Take a thorough look at this spreadsheet (the PTVI tab only as player ratings still have a lot of work to be done):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
As far as the algorithms I use, it starts by using a statistical system on Yahoo fantasy basketball. But that is far from how it is all figured out.
Minutes Played = -1
FGA = -3
FGM = 6.5
FTM = 5
3PM = 14.5
PTS = 10.5
OREB = 4
DREB = 8.5
AST = 8
STL = 5
BLK = 17.5
TOV = -4
After those points are added up for each player (examples: Trae Young - 438.5 and Rudy Gobert - 317.5), I then move to my three positional values for guards, forwards and centers (as in which players logged most minutes at what position with a few exceptions for team positional balance).
These are as follows with a specific amount of points to fit statistical ranges:
- Guards: AST/TOV Ratio, True Shooting %, Defensive Distance Traveled Per Game
- Forwards: True Shooting %, Defensive FG% Allowed, Deflections Per Game
- Center: Defensive FG% Allowed, Two-Point FGM Per Game, Blocks Per Game (once again)
I then factor those categories into the overall PTVI scores while also looking into some other statistical distributions throughout the roster, and that's how each player gets his overall Player Two-Way Value Impact score.
Also keep in mind, they will not always directly correlate to team player ratings. For example, Giannis is tied with KD for highest PTVI in the league. Since he does so much for the Bucks, it causes second and third players like Middleton and Holiday's PTVI's to dip quite a bit.
Make sense? Any questions or comments, please fire away!Last edited by zten11; 06-05-2022, 03:14 PM.Comment

Re: ZTEN11's NBA 2K22 Roster (Xbox): Player Two-Way Value Impact
On another note, I am not ready to play the game and I'm sticking to the roster editing process.
I have a really exciting invention coming for new generation 2K22. You can view it on my spreadsheet (the 4&4 roster).
This is very time-consuming. I'd be lucky to release this by the beginning of next month.
Keep an eye on this - especially for those who don't plan on purchasing 2K23 at all.Comment
