wanted to share this comparison between the final V2.3 results and the 2024 NBA AVG. this is with an 18-game sample size, with 1 of those games going into OT. going to spend the next week or two testing an adjusted set and will release once I feel it's good enough to be V3Comment

Sliders are cooking my man for cpu v cpu!! It's fouls at the moment that are the issue. There ain't enough. I think this can only be improved by a gameplay patch though. -
Also, and again I think it's the game engine opposed to sliders, but there isn't enough FGA. Getting around low 80's very rarely see high 80's & 90's

Hi all!
First message here and I want to start by thanking you guys for the work you are doing. You're helping make the game way more enjoyable. So cheers for that.
Now for my actual contribution, I'm 62 games in my first season (with the Spurs) and didn't sim more than 10 games, so the vast majority of stats I see are from actual CPUvCPU gameplay.
I notice that the 3pts success is pretty low compared to the rest of the league. Granted I don't have many great shooters (Vassell and Toumani Camara are my main threats), but the thing is my opponents are doing even worse.
We have an honest 34.5 3PA (9th in the league) but only convert 10.1 of them (27th) which makes a .291 success rate (30th).
As for my opponents we have :
35.6 3PA (1st)
10.3 3PM (30th)
.289 3P% (30th)
If you want the rest of the stats (me/my opponents)
43.0 FGM (17th) / 33.7 oFGM (30th) (the 29th is at 39.6)
85.6 FGA (29th) / 82.8 oFGA (30th) (29th at 84.6)
.501 FG% (9th) / .407 oFG% (30th) (29th at .464)
The free throws are non-existents but you already know that.
In terms of pace I'm at 94.6 (30th) but the 29th team is only at 96.5.
Edit : I want to add that I have a great defense overall. My starting 5 is composed of Castle, Vassell, Camara, Draymond Green and Wemby, with players like Sochan, Carter Bryant and Lonzo ball coming off the bench.
So of course I won't concede tons of points. But still, the percentage are a bit too low in my opinion.
I hope it's useful. Cheers!Last edited by Unherist; 10-07-2025, 09:31 PM.👍 1Comment

Hey Stumpy,
First of all, thank you for the incredible amount of work you do for this game and community. I’m pretty much a CPUvCPU only 2k player. I wanted to share though as every time I run sims in the MyNBA Steph era, by end of the season players are averaging crazy point totals. I mean Westbrook alone is putting up 40.5ppg. Steph, Harden, Lillard, McCollum and Irving are all putting up 30+ ppg as well. I’m not sure why this is the case. Any thoughts/ideas?Comment

I guarantee the playbook trick i posted works 100%.
night and day difference.
I have edited NBA2k games to improve CPU game for literally decades. I promise if you adhere to my instructions, you will see actual plays you select in the playbook being used instead of the hard coded freelancing.
I will post instructions again..
1. Go to the MODERN (current) team's coach playbook screen and SAVE their playbook file
2. Now go to that team's coach profile screen and replace the playbook to any CLASSIC or STANDARD, or CUSTOM playbook. U
3. Go back to the team's playbook screen and LOAD the playbook you saved.
What this does is remove the hard coded freelance that is associated to the current playbook. While retaining the actual plays run by the team.
You can take things further by adjusting the plays and the play types assigned to each player. (A LOT of the plays and play types associated with players is poorly implemented.)
I would also recommend going to coach profiles and making "run plays" 99.
This 100% works. No placebo,, its a clear difference.

Hey guys, checking in here as I'm planning to run a Timberwolves GM-only style game (MyNBA).
Therefore, the only differences are letting the coach run ACE and at minutes.
I've downloaded the sliders and settings. Looking forward to getting going!

I think I found a solution. You have to use Nogster's method, then when you start a CPU vs CPU game, press Start just before kick off, choose one team, go into Coach Settings, and set Offensive and Defensive Playcalling to Auto. Then do the same thing for the other team. And it works for me. I think 2K forgets our coach settings when starting a CPU vs CPU game, so we have to reapply them each time before tipoff.Comment
