Re: NBA 2K17 Community Simulation Slider Set
Don't usually post on these boards anymore, but I wanted to say these sliders are TOUGH. I love them. All other HoF sliders were either frustratingly difficult or too easy for me. These don't make me feel like I'm getting screwed whatsoever.
If you don't run plays or play smart defense you'll get wrecked. Melo went off for 38 against me in a game and only slowed down once I changed up the defense on him.
I'm far too lazy to post stats, but I just wanted to come here and say "Nice job"."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Community Simulation Slider Set
Hey Crew,
New here, created an account just to be able to participate in this thread. -Been using your sliders since I got the game a few weeks ago, and they seem to be working very well. Mad props for your work.
So here's the thing: I'm a giant simulation freak, so the way I play the game is I basically don't do anything. I set up a league with six expansion teams, a fantasy draft, and 90 of the highest-rated legends from the legends pool (for players who show up in multiple versions, I pick the highest-rated one, and if an older version is still playing in the league, I switch him out for his prime version). Then I basically just watch. Every single game in the season, CPU vs CPU.
I know it sounds insane, but for me watching the way the teams shake out, who plays with who, and studying how the stats develop, knowing that every single second of play passed through my screen - it's the most involving and addictive thing I can think of. Utterly fascinating. Like my own little NBA world, where I am God. Muhaha. Hah. Heh. Yes, well.
Anyway, long story short, I was wondering if you thought my style of enjoying the game could be of value to your slider work. I'm only three days into the season (most teams only have about 2-3 games under their belt), so it's a little early to tell, but I've started to notice areas that look like they might need looking at if the patterns keep up. Nothing major, though - by and large the realism is remarkable.
If you like, I can post stat screens here on the regular and report the trends that I'm seeing with the updated slider set, if for no other reason than to show you how the sliders are holding up in a pure every-48-minutes-simulated scenario.
Again, thanks for the great work!
That's a really good question. I haven't really tested CPU v CPU as often as I would like. It is a different proposition and would most likely require a few tweaks to smooth out the gameplay. I would love to see some of your stats/games and try to assist you.
To get the CPU playing more realistically, a custom roster is most likely necessary. Let me know how your games goComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Community Simulation Slider Set
Yeah, I was actually thinking that CPU vs CPU might be somethin of a different paradigm from the CPU vs Player concept that you started out with, so that might skew things. I'll post stuff for academic reasons, then, not as a way of helping the sliders but more as a way of seeing how they shake out in a pure CPU vs CPU scenario.
That said, it's really quite remarkable how realistic things end up turning out with this slider set. I've been doing this CPU vs CPU thing for years (starting with NBA Live 2001, if you can believe that), and with these sliders, for the first time ever, it actually feels like the real game, in so many intangible ways that I've never seen before in any of the simulations I've run. The ratio of inside vs outside shots, fouls, everything - it's eerily accurate.
I'm a little further into the season now, and the trends that I've been seeing are, basically, just a little too much of everything. Too many points, too many steals, too many blocks, too many rebounds. Then again, I DID put 90 legends into the player pool (there are at least two all-stars on every single team) so that probably does factor in.
Once every team in my league has played at least five games, I'll do a stat sheet and post it here. Also, sorry about the butthurt tone in my second message - if I'm passionate about a thing I tend to get impatientComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Community Simulation Slider Set
All I can say is great work! These are now the sliders I'm rolling with for the rest of 2K17. I hope 2K18 won't really need sliders, but if it does then I hope you make some for it as well lol [emoji4]Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

haha good to hear you like them EZ. Yeah, I hope 2K18 only needs minor adjustments and not a complete rework of the sliders. Either way, we'll see how we go.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Community Simulation Slider Set
Really liking your sliders with a few modifications.
I've notice with blk at 100 there are at least 2-3 blks that happen a game where the defender's hands never touches the ball.
I had to reduce shooting fouls to 28 due to 3-5 fouls a game where I never touch the shooter but get a foul called.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

28 is interesting. The lowest I had it was at 30. Will re-assesComment
