Doing a sim run and new trade values seem to have fixed stacking multiple players during free agency!

But will have to do multiple re-runs of first off-season to determine

I simmed one year, but I still have a lot of players in the free agent list, like IT and Marc Gasol. Any way to fix this?

Did you turn off hard cap? I get all the good players signed except weirdly Myles Turner a lot of times. Dunno how to fix that other than using 30team control for trades and contracts as stated before

I ran a test as the Cavs using Clutch's roster and only a few adjustments to the contracts:

Min Rating: 65 (+2)
Max Rating: 2 (+2)
Player Fame: 10 (-5)

Everything else is the same as the OP and progression is on default.

11/28 - Cavs (6-13) Cedi Osman and George Hill to the Suns (13-8) for Ryan Anderson and Richaun Holmes

12/6 - Pistons (10-12) Langston Galloway and a 22 2nd to New York (9-16) for Courtney Lee

12/14 - Cavs (9-19) Collin Sexton and Channing Frye to Minnesota (17-11) for Tyrus Jones and Justin Patton

12/16 - Thunder (12-16) Andre Roberson to the Bulls (10-20) for Antonio Blakeney

12/17 - The Heat (19-10) Dwayne Wade to the 76ers (15-16) for Zharie Smith and 19 2nd.... these are the types of trades offers that I hate the most. The better team (at least record-wise) shouldn't be trading one of their starters for a prospect and a draft pick.

12/27 - 76ers (16-19) Landry Shamet to the Mavs (20-13) for Devin Harris

12/31 - Blazers (10-27) Evan Turner to the Bulls (11-26) for Omer Asik and a 23 2nd

1/3 - Pistons (15-21) trade Jon Leuer to the Bucks (24-12) for Matthew Dellavedova. APPROVED. This is probably the first trade that may actually make sense, just depending on what the Bucks value more PG depth or PF depth. Both would be reserves but Delly could be made expendable by Divincenzo

1/8 - Pelicans (16-25) E'Twan Moore and Soloman Hill to the Jazz (22-19)for Rudy Gobert and Tony Bradley... WUT?

1/9 - Blazers (10-31) Myers Leonard and Mo Harkless to the Suns (26-16) for Trevor Ariza and Richcaun Holmes

1/10 - Jazz (23-19) Derrick Favors and Tony Bradley to the Wizards (18-24) for Troy Brown Jr and Ian Mahinmi

1/11 - Cavs (18-25) Jordan Clarkson and Channing Frye to the Nuggets for Torrey Craight and Myles Plumlee (17-23)

1/13 - Jazz (25-19) Derrick Favors and Thabo Sefolosha to Memphis (11-31) for Kyle Anderson and Marc Gasol

1/16 - Blazers Myers Leonard (12-33) to the Clippers (19-24) for Boban Marjanovic. It makes sense a way to save money for the Blazers but the Clips are battling for the 8th seed (currently tied) and Leonard is rated a little lower. It also kills their cap space for next offseason which I'm not sure 2K's logic can really account for

1/21 - Jazz Derrick Favors (27-20) to the Kings (17-29) for Justin Jackson. IDK why the contending Jazz keep trying to dump Favors?

1/24 - Knicks (17-29) Lance Thomas to the Hornets for Marvin Williams (24-23)

1/25 - Cavs Larry Nance Jr to Toronto for Eric Moreland and Chris Boucher. If the Cavs had any incentive to tank then this and a 2nd would be a good something to think about.. but since they are without a 1st rounder they have no reason to tank.

1/28 - Cavs (18-33) George Hill and Channing Frye to the Hornets (24-24) for Tony Parker and Marvin Williams. Now, this is a trade is pretty intriguing. Cavs get Hill off of the books but take on Williams... which would still save them about $3M next season (even more even you consider the luxury tax penalties). The Hornets get an upgrade at backup PG and insurance as a stopgap in case Kemba bolts. Williams can be replaced by Frank the Tank or MKG could see some minutes at PF. I'm going to pass just to see what other offers Hill gets but that's definitely something I could work with.

1/29 - Cavs (18-33) Collin Sexton and George Hill to the Spurs (18-33) for Patty Mills and David Bertans

1/30 - Spurs (19-33) David Bertans and 23 2nd to the Pelicans (19-32) for Darius Miller and Darius Morris

2/2 - Cavs (18-34) Collin Sexton and Kyle Korver to the Kings (21-31) for Buddy Hield and Yogi Ferrell

2/5 - Cavs (19-34) Jordan Clarkson and Channing Frye to the 76ers (22-31) for Jerryd Bayless and Amir Johnson.. if Philly was in contention and the Cavs had a reason to tank then this would be something to consider without those two, then I don't see the point for Philly

The vast majority of those look like typical 2K trade logic to me. I guess I can use them as a baseline for some deals but overall (unless you guys can really do your magic with these sliders) it looks like another year of 30-team control and coming up with my own deals.

Now on to the offseason to look at contracts

Dwight and Millsap are still bad but I like Melo signing with Dallas one a 1-year deal for $8.59M. One rookie 2nd Rounder, Raymond Johnson (76 OVR) was drafted with the 2nd pick of the 2nd round and didn't sign with the team that drafted him. He ended up signing a 2yr/$18.35M deal with the Pelicans. All other unsigned 2nd Rounders had small one or two year deals.

Every team was over the cap and once I advanced to the next season the following players were in the FA pool:

Myles Turner - 88 OVR - Expected $25M
Nikola Mirotic - 80 OVR - Expected $15M
Tyler Cavanaugh - 77 OVR - Expected $7.87M
Lance Stephenson - 77 OVR - Expected $6.90M
Isaiah Thomas - 77 OVR - Expected $8.87M
Tyus Jones - 76 OVR - Expected $8.22M

Other players like in the 75-77 like D Wade, Derrick Rose, Kenneth Faried, and Seth Curry all went unsigned and wanted in the $2M-6.5M range. One unsigned rookie (74 OVR) wanted $8.18M, the other unsigned rookies looked good.

Values wanted in FA and during negotiations are fine. It's that teams do not use cap to full extent or renounce players too quickly. Same for trades, you get fair deal in terms of value but nothing realistic. You can get best experience using light 30-team myleague and only controlling trades at 4 important times - Xmas because of FA signings being eligible, Valentine's day trade deadline and before draft. See who's expendable for each team and if there's a hole to be filled and use offered trades as baseline for that. As far as FA goes just re-sign your young players, try to get solid pieces or stars if in big market and look for young or experienced players on longer deals in smaller markets

I think I have fixed some issues. No more big name free agents stuck after FA season, more balanced salaries for washed up stars like Wade and Melo. Trades are still hit and miss

I have tried adjusting the Player Non-Financial Ambitions all the way to 100. I then controlled the Kings and offered KD max money in FA. But the Kings offer “only” got 98% interest while better teams identical offer had either 99% or 100% interest.

Imo this will make it more realistic and force bad teams to build through the draft, while allowing contenders to sign players at a slight discount. I actually hoped that slider would be even more powerful. But you can test it out and see if you like it.

I'll try and see how the game behaves. But if I do not get surprise moves like KD to Nets, DMC to Mavs etc I might tone it down. I like variety and you never know what can happen in the game...like LeBron to Lakers. He'd never sign with Lakers if it was up to 100

Mamba MyLeague sliders

Just ran another test with the slider at 100 and KD joined the Pacers. So the LeBron-to-Lakers-deals still happens. The good thing about 100 is you can’t make the Kings contenders through free agency in a few seasons like vanilla 2K.

Enjoying the sliders a lot. I actually think the number of injuries be raised, but I haven’t been able to find injury history from the real NBA to get a number of injuries and average time missed. So that slider will be hard to get precise.

these sliders are good for contract slider that trade I didn't check much yet already but I found that the game can't handle much real player salaries so makes teams always on free agency don't have cap space to sign good players,

so I edit some of this slider to make players salaries lower and also reduce the CPU resign aggressiveness this make the free agency more enjoy and you gonna see more free agents, the players' salaries probably is gonna be low in some players but all good free agents are gonna get teams

Not recently. Private life took over for a bit with extra work, gf, family weddings





But I am pretty happy with where they are, I think these sliders are as good as I can get them with only my feedback. Would really like to hear your feedback regarding contracts and especially trades.


@michdb8 - can you test out the latest ones, they alleviate a lot of the problems earlier version of sliders had, as well as your problems
