How exactly do draft classes work?

In my college hoops dynasty there was a SG who I had scouted since he was a freshman in high school. The guy made the 2K Elite camp All-Star game as a freshman, and was the number one recruit in his class. He came in and led his team to the final four as a freshman, and as a sophomore took them to the national championship. He left after his sophomore year rated 90 overall, with A potential. He averaged 23 ppg, 5 rebounds per game, and 7.5 assists per game, and won the player of the year award..

After this guy had passed over my school in recruiting, and beat me a few times I was excited to get him into my NBA 2K6 association, since players who are rated as highly as he was (as a sophomore) are rare. But I get to the draft he's only a C overall and is projected to go undrafted. I draft him in the top 5 despite this, expecting him to be rated highly, and he doesn't.

Is there any continuity between what players are rated as in the college game, and what they end up rated as in the draft class? Or is it just random?

well, NOT all highly successful college athletes come into the league and just wreck shop..
but I know you knew that ofcourse..
    question is...
another thing that you have to look at..is..his general size..
I think NBA 2K6 takes an estimate..according to size and also the depth of the class..
because I can't see them willingly allowing a full class of A potential guys
into the league in one year..

that could be a potential problem that you could see and will see later on in years..

another thing you might wanna look at happens to be your scouts..and their abilities..

because there was a post not to long about how a guy had a low rated player who suddenly got some playing time and miraculously overnight turned into a premier player....

I just hope my current favorite college hoops player doesn't turn into a dud when he finally gets to the leagues
    VOL T VOL.....................
    Anymore questions?
