I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
Did anybody else notice this? I wonder if it's just sheer coincedence or not. I'm sure we'll get an equal number or more one handed dunks with the players dominant hand - maybe it's just the fact of the non-finished code.

You can control your dunks using the right analag stick. So obviously this dunk isn't the only major dunk in the game if you can CONTROL which dunks you use.:wink:Comment

Re: I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
I know you can control you dunks in the game; but I am pretty sure that you can't control which hand you dunk with in the game.
That would be vicious if you could and players dunking with their weak had would have a high risk of missing (not a HIGH risk though) than if they did it with their natural hand.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
Um, every last pic that contains a one handed dunk, is with the left hand. In the second trailer, LeBron dunks with his left, in the first trailer every dunk except the alley oop is with the left hand. Obviously there's a problem if all the media released contains more left handed dunks than right, considering most people in the NBA are right handed.Comment

Re: I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
yeah i didn't notice that until now...
it doesn't bother me though... i think it has something to do with what side the ballhandler is coming from with the dunk... i think they just mirror each move depending on the sidehttp://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis

Yeah you guys are right but I'm pretty sure you can control which hand you dunk the ball with too. I'm pretty sure thats what you can do. We'll have to see though.Comment

i highly doubt that... it would defeat the purpose of choosing the kind of dunk you want if you're able to choose what hand to dunk with.http://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis

Hopefully beluba can address this. I mean surely the developers & game testers would notice this.Comment

Re: I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
It has nothing to do with the handedness of the mocap talent. We mirror all of our dunks and layups to have a full range of coverage on the court. We try to bias our shots toward the player's dominant hand wherever possible but occasionally allow them to use their offhand to allow for smoother blending and to prevent shots from clipping through the backboard.Last edited by Beluba; 08-19-2006, 12:43 PM.Comment

Re: I just noticed... almost all one-handed dunks are left-handed
I agree, this probably attributes to the abnormal amount of left-handed dunks. However, guys finishing strong with their off-hand has been a problem in this series for sometime now. Hopefully this will be addressed in future versions. Not a huge deal, especially since the dunk animations seem soooo much smoother and realistic looking than in years past.
BTW, check the trailer at gamspot it has Shaq dunking over YAO (right-handed)after making a post move, and there is a pic of Arenas in the pictures thread on these boards finishing strong (right-handed) over Sheed.
So there are right-handed dunks but, they should be represented much more often in the game than they have been. If 2k7 is anything like past versions of this series, we will probably see just as many left-handed dunks as right-handed dunks unfortunately.
In reality, we should be seeing most dunks finished 90% of the time with the players strong hand. And on rare occasions off-handed dunks. Hopefully VC will be able to replicate this sort of ratio soon.
The smoother dunk animations and the addition of "dunked on" animations in 2k7 should help mask this issue though. I'm just glad the dunks in the new vids and pics look ALOT better than what was in 2k6.Comment
