    Arenas,

Do you have a scale for adjusting awareness? How high/low would you consider to be "bad" and "good" when it comes to tweaking things on a team by team basis?

Same thing with point guards... do you have any kind of scale for that? (if Jason Kidd's would go to 60, what about the scrub PGs or shoot first PGs?)

    thx

I've had some posts with him about this, I think I can help answer some of these.

ALL PG's should be 60. That's how he does it. I personally just lowered every PG's OA by 10, but he says that having every PG be a 60 is good, I believe him. He says put any guy with the "capability" to score 20 in any given night up around 80-85. He uses guys like Rick Fox, Robert Horry and Gerard Wallace as example. Any of the three can put up 20 on any night, but they don't average 20, it's just the potential. Stars(that aren't PGs) should have OA up above 90. Kobe, TMac, Iverson should all be upper 90s, anybody who averages over 20 should be in the 90s. Anyone getting 15-20 should be high 80s.

Also he told me that he changes the defensive awareness on a team by team basis. All regulars on the Pistons should be up above 80, while the Nuggest shuold all be below 70.
He pretty much answered these questions to be on another post, so i'm just relaying his answers, a little of it is what I implied from his answers, but i think it's about right. He also mentioned that some players(like Paul Pierce)will shoot the ball just about everytime if their OA is too high, so he had to adjust that whenever he saw errors. Hope this helped

so CM this is wat ure saying:

        players that average:

5 points or below: OA should be 60 or under

6-10 points: OA should be 65-70

11-15 points: OA should be 70-75

16-20 points: OA should be 75-85

        20-24: OA should 90-94

25+ points: OA should be 95+

if any of this is wrong or anything like that, just clear it up. cuz i'm a little lost here, and frustrated becuase brevin knight just dropped 20 on me

I'm just trying to convey Arenas's ideas here, he's the one doing all the work tweaking, I'm just letting you know what he's told me, and I am implying a little, not all of this is word for word. But I think you have a pretty good idea, but a few htings:
Anybody who averages over 20ppg should have an OA above 85. so anybody in the 20-25ppg range should be in the 85-95 range. There are only 5 guys in the NBA this year getting over 25 ppg, so those guys should get 95+ OA. Space out the 20-25 ppg guys between 88-95(there are only 50 guys over 15 ppg in real life, so you won't have too many high OA's). The thing you're missing is the people who average 15-19 or so. Anybody in this range should be 80-87 OA. Also, there may be some wild card guys who show flashes(Marcus Fizer comes to mind) by scoring 25 in a few games, but his average is pretty low. Guys like that(with the ability to put up 20 on any given night) should get a 80-85. Even if they average 10 or so a game, give them an 80 or so, I don't think they will average 15 just because their OA is 80-85 because there are other atributes involved, changing only the OA to 80-85 will give them the ability to have break out games, but won't average 15+.

Hope that helps, and I hope they are right! I am going to go finish adjusting mine now, I'll post later tonight on how it turns out, but I'm pretty sure that is the basic idea that arenas did.

Did you guys think about lowing Jordan's sats? The guy has been performing well the past couple games, but a rating of 88? I feel that is too high. That places him as high as some of the current superstars. Just wondering what your thoughts were.

nah, Jordan is good. The reason his rating seems so high is because most of his stats are in the low-mid 80's. He dosn't really have a weakness in his game other than the inability to sky over people like the MJ of old. The other superstars all have a some weakness :/
