I've been able to get by slower defenders with relative ease, when you have someone on you who is slower, call for a quick isolation, square them up and do a hard crossover or hesitation. The trick is not to create any contact, and keep your spacing.

I was using Terry, Shaq got switched on to me, called for a quick isolation sized him up and made it all the way to the rim for a and 1, Shaq was left on near the 3 point line wondering what happened. I really havent had too much trouble getting by them.

Demo is great. One thing, they got Wades face terrible. If that is the only bad thing I can think of, then it's all good.

Anyways, that's just small stuff, gameplay is incredibly good (except the big slow men catching up with your fastest players on fastbreaks). Hopefully they'll polish it up big time for the PS3 and give me reason to buy that machine :P

Initially I had the problem of the defense catching up on me on fast breaks in the 360 version of CHoops. That game had a speed slider for human and CPU independently and once the CPUs speed is lowered, this becomes a non issue. IMO it didn't seem to affect non fastbreak situations.

LOL. Run and Gun players are gonna HATE this game out of the box. One guy on the Teamxbox forums said ,"... I don't like the fact that my guy would get caught up in the predetermined animation of being pushed that I couldnt pass for 2-3 seconds which killed on a breakaway.

It's a justifiable gripe IMHO, and I don't understand how something so obvious can keep being ignored. However, I thought at pro level at least the problem wouldn't exist, as in current gen 2k6, the transition D seemed realistic. This game could be the best NBA sim yet, but this is a pretty big dent in its armour.

I assume they made it this way to keep the fastbreak game from being too effective, but I think a better way would have been to have poor fastbreak teams have poor spacing on the break and possibly less endurance, while better fastbreak teams run the break really well and have a high endurance level.

both of those triple threat "explosions" put the ball in your left hand and make you drive left. i guess you have to manually drive out of the triple threat if you want to go right...unless someone has done it off the jab step animation.

Yeah. check out the 90 second clip i have. i finally learned that R trigger and lead pass is a fancy pass but just B alone provides great fastbreak passes...
that payton pass was an early clip of me

I'm having a problem viewing these - what codec do I need to download?
                  spank, its DIVX .

neo, it didnt exist AT ALL on pro level in both games- ch and nba, the past few years. on allstar on nba2k6, it was unplayable for me... I might have to play at a lower level with highly adjusted sliders in the CPus favor. Jason Kidd with 80+ stamina should never be caught by guys with speed 15 points lower and 5 points lower in stamina. looking at ratings alone, its a mathematical inprobablity. the only justification is that they do what madden does and gives every player on the opposing team a rating boost somewhere, and they call it HIGHER AI. I do agree it may have to do with effectiveness on the users end. thats something im sorta iffy about. I hate getting pancaked 20 times vs a team the same rating as me in NCAA, yet i cant pancake more than 5 guys

in the demo its not real bad, but i could only imagine HOF speed catchup logic as history tends to repeat itself. itd almost be a game killer for me.

The difference with the demo, I can get guys like Shaq or Walker back just as quick as the CPU does. so im not proclaiming or judging anything as concrete right now. On Pro level the past few years, guys were just slower on D and even O. this year in the demo, everyone is sort of quicker. Maybe its just a whole new system.

                  we shall see

I don't mean when they are assigned to you on a set half court offense. I mean during fast breaks, and the big men somehow turbo zoom to beat your fast guard to the basket. Its kinda cheesy.

In the past games, I usually play at Superstar or Hall of Fame levels where this effect is even more exagerrated. We'll see come release though.

ive found i could do this on defense defending the break. shaq is quiiiick. thats not the case with older 2k games on the allstar-HOF levels. on defense in the older games, everything seemed normal. it was always the offensive side of the break. the demo proves otherwise, it seems

could it have anything to do with fatigue and stamina having no effect?

i wouldnt think so because they are still all on the same 100% fatigue playing field with speed being the key factor.

gary payton with a speed of 80 in this demo, looks to have the same speed as shaq(60) on fastbreaks... thats the one questionable aspect i still have.. ill post some videos showing that off later on.

I thought wade looked flawless. He looked much better than earlier screens. I think JWill looked a bit scary. Mainly all the white players have like weird looking skin textures and faces in the game.

The game looks fine, but jaggies are there. I'm looking at it on my 1280x720 Pioneer Plasma with the 360 set to 720p, so there is NO upscaling/downscaling taking place. I also checked it out on my 1366x768 LCD, and the exact same problem.

Maybe we're misunderstanding the word jaggies, but it is definately there. Game looks great nonetheless, but its distracting.
