Why don't they just put the follow through in but the players only do it when you leave your controller idle and you can cut the follow through animation by moving the player? Or make a couple sig shots for them so you can pick the one you want? Like an alternative or 2.

Re: Know what Sig-Shots were missing last year?
Having a player leave his arm up for too long causes a lot of problems. Either you lock the user out of control to let the animation finish playing (bad) or you let them break out early and deal with some really messy IK blends (worse.) Due to the sheer number of shots we have, it's impractical to get multiple versions of each shot (wide open vs. contested) as we can use that memory for other things (different styles of shots, other animation content, etc.)
That being said, I think you guys will be really happy with the sig shot content in 2k8. We had a lot more time for data collection and polish this year. So a lot of the ugly shots you saw in 2k7 have been replaced with much better looking/more appropriate shots. And yeah, Noc's shot is fixed too.Comment

Well, thanks for responding. Still a slight disappointment but I trust your judgment and knowledge of keeping them out.Comment
