Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
1. I agree with you
2. No shi t
3. Again, I agree with you, but if I'm producing a basketball video game, then it would be difficult overlook Kobe's "superstar status" and can emphasize with their reasoning behind their ratings.

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
So this system is based upon a global Dunk Rating Slider of 50 Right.
I assume that if you lower the Dunk Slider that it also lowers the individual player dunk ratings by a percentage? Do you know what percentage?
I'm in the middle of my massive roster update so this information could be helpful. I just finished with the Jazz last night so i'm getting close to 1/2 way. It's taking forever with all the testing and changing every attribute/tendency.
I am using most if not all of your standing dunk edits in my roster updates.Comment

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
Gerald Green is a better in game FAST BREAK dunker than Kobe.
Kobe is a better "Dunk on his head" in game dunker.
But remember we have the issue of flashy dunks happening in the half court on this game so I HAVE to take something like that into consideration when grading players dunks.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
I don't know how the global slider works; I don't even care to know to be honest. I wish I did know but I don't feel like testing something like that over and over again when they will still do 360/windmills (oops) in traffic. So this system is based upon a global Dunk Rating Slider of 50 Right.

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
Who the hell cares about fast break dunks??? Most overrated thing ever. Getting your dunk in a halfcourt set on someone head is where the real dunkers show up..Gerald Green is a better in game FAST BREAK dunker than Kobe.
Kobe is a better "Dunk on his head" in game dunker.

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
You are right but 2K doesn't seem to understand the difference between fastbreak dunks and half court dunks
So by that account I should re-rate those BUMS who only show up on fastbreaks and/or dunk contests.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

There are way too many superstar "Dunk on his head" dunkers in my games.Comment

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
Seriously, when was the last time we've seen Vince do a windmill on a 1 on 0 fast break, or any fast break. the last time he dunked on someone was 2005 on Mourning. And J Rich WAS a great dunker, as was Carter, but you don't see him throwing down 360's on fast breaks. Kobe on the other hand, did you see the reverse he did against the Suns on Xmas day, or the 360 in Minnasota? Those were great dunks.Comment

Co-sign. I don't care how many times you swing your arm in the air while dunking all alone.Seriously, when was the last time we've seen Vince do a windmill on a 1 on 0 fast break, or any fast break. the last time he dunked on someone was 2005 on Mourning. Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
Maybe I'm special, but I can't seem to dunk in non break away situations. My players all seem to act like little *****es in the paint.
I was playing my Wizards, where I traded basically all of my guards for Houston's guards. I was playing Denver with tinyass AI and Chucky Atkins starting. Now, I had at least 5-10 teams where I was on a break with either Francis, Butler, or McGrady on one of those munchkins, and every time my players did the girly little turn-their-back layup crap. WTF?Comment

Re: NBA 2K8 Dunk System Explained
T-Mac dunks are overrated as well. And thats my favorite player.
He's just not the same finisher he once was, and year after year I had to drop his dunk rating in the game because he would always be rated so high.
So I'd have to agree with DC here.Comment
