Why Is Steve Nash Listed As 6'3?

He clearly isnt, just stuff I always notice. People would always say Barkley was closer to 6'4 than 6'6, but everytime Ive seen him next to Jordan, they were the same exact height. He never looked 6'4 on the court. I can pretty much tell heights without knowing them beforehand, it aint that hard. Anyway, any others you guys are skeptical about heights with?

For years people say Iverson is 6'1...he's closer to 5'10

Most of the guys get listed in college by their coaches, and it sticks with them for their NBA careers ...

There is no official measurements taken before a player hits the NBA.

Players always add height, because height = money. Everyone is looking for a skilled guy as tall as possible. This is how it happens though, I'm 5'11, but in my kicks I'm 6'1.5". I'd round that off to 6'2" and bingo. All of a sudden I'm 6'2.

Bingo we have a winner. I work at ESPN Zone in Denver and he has come there a couple of times and he IS NOT 6'1. I'm 5'9" and he's a tad taller than me. I beat him in College Hoops(a free thow shooting competition.)

I played college ball and Im 6'2" but I was listed at 6'4". Everyone does it. I think the only ones that are really measured are big guys. People say Dirk is 7' but hes probably 6'10". It just what they do in bball.

In the NFL they do the same for a players weight.

Ive never seen Iverson listed at 6'1 but always 6'0 and trust me he is a legit 6'0. He dont look 5'10 on the court.

Monte Ellis is a legit 6'3, and Nash aint tall as him. Ive seen Monte abuse Nash last year enought to know this. Guys do get measured when they come in the league and thats what end up hurting guys status alot. They can put whatever on the roster I guess, Ive seen it done with my brother playing high school football, but during combines the truth comes to light.

Players are not upright when they are in defensive stance.

Anyway player heights are practically meaningless in basketball anyway. Teams care far more about wingspan than they do height. 6'8 players with 7 foot wingspans are far higher regarded than 7 foot giants with the same wingspan.

Barkley and Larry Johnson were listed at 6'6 or 6'7 for their whole careers yet they were much closer to 6'4 in real life. 6'4 power forwards... think about that as we talk about 6'3 guards.

Ultimately it doesn't matter how tall you are, what matters is how tall you play. Iverson plays bigger than 6 foot, and Nash plays smaller than 6'3. Rodman played much bigger than his height which Michael Doleac will never be accused of.

Without my shoes I am 6 feet and 1/2 inches. But I would be listed 6'2-6'3 if I played pro ball guaranteed.

Allen Iverson has the longest arms I have ever seen on a human. Which skews appearances. Kevin Willis was a legit 6'10 but he always looked like he was 6'6 because he had those alligator arms. Short and stocky.

barkley is another guy with a very wide wingspan.

This is more a NBA topic than a 2k topic.

Again Barkley aint closer to 6'4, aint 6'4, he is 6'6. If you believe Jordan is 6'6 then Barkley. Dont listen to what commentators have always said. Ive seen him next to Jordan too many times to know he is 6'6, he dont look no 6'4 anyway. Look at any Dream Team poster and thing with them on it, they are both standing upright and if anything Barkley's head is a smidge higher than Mike's.

LOL um, Jordan was also 6'4... his listed height was 6'6. Why would I believe Jordan's listed height was 6'6 when the whole topic is about how few listed height's are actually accurate...
