Re: NBA2K9 Custom Covers
This is my cut.
I'm a big fan of shadows on covers, so I'm experimenting atm ... Tell me what you think. This one may be a little too dark.

Re: NBA2K9 Custom Covers
Jason you're smudging too much. Not to mention on 2K covers they don't do the EA effect. Also anyone know where I can get Matt's template, not cyclones template. I want the one that looks good.
EDIT: Also if you want shadows don't forget to use the burn tool on the shadows.Last edited by Bigdmo9999; 12-19-2008, 12:46 PM.Comment

Re: NBA2K9 Custom Covers
Nevermind I got the template. I'm going to be doing a few covers at my leisure, as in no requests, just do them when I'm bored and stuff. I have some good NBA photos from AP I will use.Comment

Re: NBA2K9 Custom Covers
My first cover. I found a way to keep the file size still pretty high res and keep it under 1 MB so I could upload it to photobucket. Not to mention the AP photo still looks good on it. And yeah I know KG is on the cover but this is an alternate (and I just liked the picture a lot)

Re: NBA2K9 Custom Covers
If you hit control J or whatever, it will copy the players layer. Then you can put one player behind the NBA 2k9 bar and put the outer glow around him so it won't touch the NBA title. Unless that's the way you like it.
And yeah, atm I'm just experimenting. I'm using both Dodge and Burn tool. And I just like the smudge, lol. I can't help it. I'm not going for a 2k look at all. I'm trying to find a look that pleases me. Lol, I'd never be able to get the professional look anyways. I've tried way too long to not be able to do it. So I'm just trying to find a "Jason" way of doing it, lol. But keep the hints and btw's, and they tips coming in though. They're appreciated.
And oh, to the AP users ... I've found out if you put the player on the cover first then do your effects -- it works out better. I use to put all my effects on the player first then move him over. And if you flatten the image before you save it, seems to help a little also.Last edited by JasonH_TKG; 12-19-2008, 04:25 PM.
