    Stat Geeks

The biggest disappointment in this game has been the lack of in depth stats and horrible simulated stats.

    In Depth
I would love to see per 48 stats, efficiency stats, Hollinger number or the Reina number or any other of these new stats that 82 games have come up with. Not having a + and - stat is beyond inept considering it is on NBA.com's official box scores now!!!

    Simulated Stats

It seems to me NBA2k has gotten a pass on horrible simulated stats in a season. Last year every man on the 12 man roster (sometimes it seemed all 15 guys too) played in EVERYGAME of the season, unless injured. Apparently every game was like a blow out or every team had Doc Rivers 12 man rotation going on.

This lack of realism diluted guys stats on the end of the bench. Instead of most 8-12 bench players having a 5-12 min per game (in far less games than 82) they all had something like 1 min played per game in all 82 games. Teams are lucky to have a few players play in all 82 games in a year let alone most of their team!!!!

Also 2k has never quite gotten turnovers and assists quite right. It seems that the bar is set way to low on simulated stats in both these categories.

If NBA2k is really the best game out there this is one area that I think needs huge improvement.

I am with you. I complained about this in the Wishlist.

Why don't we have efficiency rating, double doubles, triple doubles. I am SICK of it
    Concrete evidence/videos please

      Re: Stat Geeks

NFL 2k had the best presentation ever, and I'm not talking about halftime show and all that. During actual games, they would show last season stats, current game stats, if you hit a milestone/record, and it always came at the appropriate times.

Another thing that annoyed me is how the stat overlays look. They have that NBA TV presentation, when they need to be more TNT, NBC, or ABC style. I noticed they made this switch on NBA 2k6 for 360, while regular X-Box had it right all along.

The REAL NBA TV has the best presentation when it comes to stat overlays. The are CONSTANTLY showing stats on the screen at the bottom (undernearth the score bar)

Example if JJ Redick hits a 3; there will be a popup that shows his 3PT %, rank, makes, etc........

        I love NBATV's presentation
        Concrete evidence/videos please

I don't like the stats after EVERY single basket, rebound, assist...etc. Who cares if Duhon leads my team with 2 assists 5 min into the game?

What I noticed that NBA 2k8 doesn't do is highlight key players. You see too many ESPN style leaderboard stats (i.e. Scoring: Lebron 25, Ilgauskas 10, Gibson, 8, etc...). They need to highlight key players (Lebron 25, 7, 8), and key/intangible stats (avg 4th quarter points). Once they do that, they will be fine.

I really do miss the stat overlays... When guys are at that FT line, i think past games had this:

PTS, fgm/fga, ftm/fta, (then another top stat whether it be rebounds, assists or turnovers).

do the commentators even talk about whos scoring and whos on fire? or what HAS happened? it always seems like the immediately current situation they describe. talking for just a moment about the past would be awesome. the more i think about 2k8, the more i strive for it seems

Per 48 would be very very very nice.

I've been thinking about it alot but never posted it.

When I'm doing my association, I just do 5 min quarters and If I do 5 min quarters my players are averaging pathetic numbers lol obviously.

So it would be nice to have adjusted per 48 stats in association.

They don't, and the sad thing is they used to. I miss the days when you heard the commentator say "____ has 50 points!" I'm not even sure they mention how many points, rebounds or assists a player has now because theres no excitement, but I know they mention "with the next rebound, ____ will have a double-double."
