Re: NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN)
Not only does Kobe keep his hand held toward the sky after shooting a free throw, he lets out screams after big dunks
This could definitely add a whole different level of emotion to the game, and make the dunk just that much sweeter.
I can see me and my buddies getting so hype after one of us throws it down on the other, and hearing a scream from our guy.
I also hope that they added the yells that players let out when they are trying to get a foul call. Some players are notorious for doing this all the time (See: Kobe, T-Mac).Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN)
These are Lo Res photo's... We have seen a few of the actual photos without the jaggies ie. Iverson dribbling against kobe
Do you all see how smooth that looks? Now I dont know if that is HD or not but this is a Hi res photo so those new pics I believe are in a lower resolution. We need a true gameplay vid on replay to be able to totally judge though. But just in case, Im glad I already have 1080p on my HD.
BTW the pic I just posted in this thread immediately went to a lower resolution but if you click on it you will see how smooth it is.
the reason that pic above looks so smooth compared to some of the others is because it is from REPLAY mode. not in Game. hell it may even be a cut scene mode for making trailers where they use higher res models just for show.
In game does not have the same "HiRes" look as replay mode. Replay mode ads the blur and anti-aliasing and depth of Field (and maybe higher res models) that is evident in your shot and not in the in-game shots (Pro-tip: that'd be the shots with the score HUD graphic in them).
In game needs CPU cycles to run the AI logic where as replay mode does not. therefore they have more resources for graphic qualities in that mode. These consoles are not endless suppliers of power as we would like to believe. there needs to be trade-offs with AI, sound, graphics, RAM etc.Last edited by Klocker; 09-16-2008, 12:56 PM.Comment

I can't be the only one intrigued by this.

When does Kobe ever do that? I can see some other guys... Kmart, KG, even Steve Francis HEH!, but anyhow I just hope that everyone including scrubs dont all do the same thing.

I like that they are going to have some new statistics with efficiency and True Shooting % etc being added... I wonder if during your association they'll finally integrate your seasonal statistics into the gameplay. That'd be awesome!Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN)
Great preview adressed some of my concerns.
Only thing i dont know about is draft classes. Import from college hoops 2k8 and/or uploaded to 2kshare, maybe they just gonna let us edit incoming draft prospects and classes because there is no college hoops title?
The reason am so concerned about that one feature is because one thing i have always wanted to do in a sports game is go back in time.
Do a franchise that starts in the early 90s, so i can play with all my child hood heroes. Do it the year before Jordan first retired and just play through as normal (you could choose to edit in expansion teams like the Bobcats as time goes on or just keep it the way it is and pretend the Hornets stayed in Charlotte. You would also have to put the Sonics back in) and let it run as a what if scenario. Will Jordan win 7 or 8 championships after deciding not to retire or maybe the Rockets will still be able to take home one despite Jordans presence. Maybe Barkely stays in Philadelphia and plays along side a young AI. Shaq doesnt go to LA.
You could bring in all the draft classes every year too (AI, Ray Allen as rookies, etc.).
Will this be possible this year?
All you would need is ability to edit players, teams, and draft classes i think.
Maybe Simballer could let me know.Last edited by Juice Malone; 09-16-2008, 12:53 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN)
This is something small that I think would be cool and I don't think would take much to add:
But to make player "Chatter" a little more interesting and more authentic to specific players.
Have Boozer yell "Ahhhhh" after any freethrow or open jumpshot he misses. It's something he does all the time.
Have T-Mac and Kobe yelling "Heeeeyyyy" when they go up and try to finish a lay up in traffic.
Chris Paul yelling "He can't guard me!" from every so often after scoring consecutively during a closely contested game.
And like someone else said, KG screaming.

Re: NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN)
Melo always says "OHH ****" whenever he goes to the hoop. Probably not getting into the game, but he does that constantly. I'm sure the networks hate him. Camby did that also, but not quite as regularly.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
