Re: NBA 2K9 Screenshots: Association 2.0 & More (Gamespot)
For guys concerned about 1 guy doing the ratings and such... Consider that since ea owns the exclusive to synergy there is no reason to think they may not use the same information from a synergy or other company to help drive their ratings changes. just have an individual subscription as opposed to a contract.
and CP3 is without a doubt better than AI. if you look at that same pic you see positon rating 1. Means hes the best PG in the NBA."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: NBA 2K9 Screenshots: Association 2.0 & More (Gamespot)
What he means (assuming) is that EA doesn't own any kind of exclusivity with Synergy Sports (the people providing the real life stats & tendencies to NBA teams & EA) so its quite possible that instead of the overall integration, 2K could just have one guy who has a subscription and gets the same information. Then the updates would be quite similar to Live except that 2k would have a middleman between the game stats and the synergy information.Comment

Don't know why you mentioned AI when AI is listed as a SG in the game, has been for years now. Doesn't mean Paul is the best PG in the NBA either, means he's the highest rated PG in NBA 2k9. I'm not saying anyone is better than anyone but you've got some misconceptions there.Comment

Looks good. Hopefully Association 2.0 immersion is better than past years.
I am still wondering about draft classes and CAP.Comment

no, 2k would just have come up with more gimmicky features that might not play good, but would sound good and thus lessen the 2K features impact
For example when EA released their Live 365 feature 2K could have released this Living Roster and 2K Insider info as a way to counteract EA.
I think had they done this they would have been able to steal a lot of the buzz EA was able to create a lot earlier.Last edited by Jano; 09-17-2008, 08:30 PM.Comment

The 99 rating on that screen shot doesn't necessarily mean that Paul is rated 99 by 2k. They never rate anybody 99. But as you go through Association mode, your players do get better and their ratings will go up temporarily if they are extremely happy (have high morale percentages)... just like in 2k8. So I assume that's what it is, as these pics are indeed taken from Association simulation. Chris Paul is probably in the 95-96 range to start out.Comment

I can't believe more people aren't talking about the new UI (user interface). Look at those menus! The clairty of the text, the clean lines, the beautiful layout... it's like another team all together designed 2K9's UI! I just hope the main menus and such all are done in the same fashion.
Man this game looks crazy. I can't wait!Comment
