thanks pared for doing this and answering. i think its time to sit down for 4-5 hours or a day, and give us your pros and cons and what you see later on.

that would seemingly be more productive in the scheme of things.. just an idea:wink: there is so much being asked and at different levels that its hard to gauge how solid the game is. no biggie, we have a 9 days to bug you lol

I can certainly deny another CPU player off the ball... I'll have to see the others. Offline. You use the right stick and flick towards the CPU player.

Well I'm doing Knicks-Nets at MSG right now. Jamal Crawford shoots without question. Guy just chucks like crazy.

I'd say that's about right.

Pared,

Chicano mentioned there is an in game slider for running plays similar to game tempo. I wanted to know if this slider makes teams run their sets faster?

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

But i noticed you did another thread like this for NBA LIVE. Which game in your OPINION seems more simulation NBA LIVE 09 or NBA 2k9.....your honest opinion

Some more quick hits:

-Players move off the ball SO WELL. They just do what they should. Make off-ball cuts and such. I'm not calling plays. They're just moving around. Big men come up and set picks, guards backdoor cut after passes... WOW!

-The big men moves are a blast. I don't see any new moves to stop them but it seems possible to contain them with your current set of defensive moves. I would like to see more though.

-The CPU guards actually jump up and defend the passes in the post. Don't take them for granted this year!

-Knicks just fed the ball in and out of the post trying to get David Lee better position. Never seen that last year...

I'll try.. in the post, right? I know you can do them off of layups and dunks... change your shot in mid-air.

Still way too early... but 2k9 seems more slanted for simulation. Live is certainly no slouch though. 2k9 just has more authenticity in terms of player specific animations and mannerisms that add to the overall package.
