    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

just got the game, playing on all-star (2k fan of course) (10 mins)

    game 1: rockets at home.

hard opener, i knew what i had to do though, pull yao out of the middle. on offense pick and rolls were working a treat to open up the lane and they sagged of teryr and howard allowing for some easy layups.

doubles yao after he opened with 10 after that he was ineffective. t-mac lit it up and he kept it close all game. tried putting george on him but it didn;t help with help being needed for yao of course.

ended up winning 101-98, with howard and dirk on the high points. kidd got 10 assists and about 8 point. and diop was massive with 4 blocks.

was a GREAT first game for me. i was playing like real life and the game rewarded me.

    game 2 against minesota.

figured this would be easier, but i was wrong. foye at one point hit 4 3pts in a row. was my fault, but i couldn;t believe it .

dirk dominated in this one, with damp doing a good job of keeping big al away from him. i could not get howard or any of the guards in the game for some reason. but barring some good runs by the timberwolves it was fairly comfortable win, 98-89.

first time i have played on all-star and im so glad, its much more rewarding and i get into it like i do with a real mavs game. cheering myself when i make an awesome play, knowing its work to get every bucket.

it sounds stupid but i cant wait for my first loss, because the AI play clever and play fairly.

                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

i'm in my 3rd season with the Kings now, simulated most of the 2nd season due to me having no chance of making the playoffs. here are the teams I had throughout the seasons.

                Year 1(20-32)
                PG: Beno Udrih/B.Jackson/Douby
                SG: Kevin Martin/Garcia
                SF: John Salmons/Greene
                PF: Mikki Moore/K.Thomas/J.Thompson
                C: Brad Miller/R. Lopez

                Year 2(14-38)
                PG: Wade Webber(rookie)/Acie Law/Mclinnis
                SG: Kevin Martin/Garcia
                SF: Gerald Wallace/Greene
                PF: Spencer Hawes/K. Thomas/Thompson
                C: Brad Miller

                Year 3(2-1)
PG: Beno Udrih/Wade Webber(2nd year draft pick)
                SG: Kevin Martin/Garcia
                SF: Gerald Wallace/Donte Greene
                PF: Jeff Craig (rookie)/Thompson/K.Thomas
                C: Spencer Hawes/M. Gasol
in dire need of a solid PG, udrih just doesn't fit in my team, wade webber is great but i would need a back up for him if were to start him. any good pg's? i don't want an all star pg, just a solid one. i had starbury for the start of the season but he wasn't content w/ his playing time.

In my 76ers assoc, won against the Bucks yesterday 107-101 to improve to 13-12.

Iggy finished w/ 37 points, 2 rebs, 3 assists, & 1 stl. Other notable performances...

                        Thaddeus Young - 16 pts, 4 rebs, & 5 steals.

                        Elton Brand - 24 pts, 9 rebs, 3 blocks.

Two others finished in double figures. Louis Williams w/ 11, and Dalembert w/ 14.

My next was against Washington. I simmed that one and won again to improve to 14-12.

We're finally starting to break this win/lose win/lose pattern, and put together a solid streak. Currently riding a 3 gm winning streak.

.......Man......I tried gauging the interest in a couple of deals since I desire to move Dalembert and/or Andre Miller and Thaddeus Young for a superstar. I tried a multitude of deals for Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, & Allen Iveron and in none of them was the CPU interested. I had the salaries matching and to make it so both teams had enough players I would take the lowest rated player w/ the salary needed to make the deal work and nothing.

I thought one deal I had offered Miami they would've surely bit on. That was them sending me Dwayne Wade, the 2 yrs left on Mark Blount's horrible contract, and Yakhouba Diawara......

For Sammy Dalembert, Thaddeus Young, Willie Green, and a 2010 1st rd pick.

Seems like a good deal for Miami. They get a starting C, a young stuf in Young, Willie Green who can start for them or provide good minutes off the bench, and a 1st rd pick.

They lose Dwayne Wade who is a top talent of course, but w/ 2 yrs left on his deal maybe he doesn't re-sign. They move the horrible contract of Mark Blount, and Diawara is just a filler for them - nothing lost there. Plus Sammy's contract expires after 09-10, and Young's does too. I'm sure they could re-sign Young, but they would'nt have to resign Sammy and that would give them at least $12 mil to spend on the FA market.

I think that his deal makes sense. Thad and Beasley together at the forward spots. Throw in Chalmers at point and you got a good young team to develp and get good chemistry going. I mean as it stands they have D-Wade and Marion as their top players with a bunch of average playing vets. They could go into rebuild mode with the cap space they would have in a year but let me stop trying to play GM.

                              Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

Got tired of my associations due to various reasons so am going to try one with the Rockets where I play the games with nogsters and porlandblazers rosters and futures sliders, only 2 games in though.

Beat the Grizzlies 109-95, should of been a simple game, go into the 4th quarter with a 23 point lead and bring in the reserves to get some playing time, so I've got Brooks, Head, Battier, Hayes and Landry on the floor, absolutely noone that can create their own shot, no inside game whatsoever and a couple 3pt shooters, but sitll think the 23 point lead should be enough.

But because of the above problems, the Grizzlies pull me in. Hayes can't hit a wide open layup, Head and Battier were both airballing 3 pointers and Brooks couldn't finish inside, he was drawing fouls but missing his free throws. Landry would never ever dunk when I asked him to and would end up doing a fallaway layup which always missed.

The Grizzlies got the score within 100-92 before a timeout was called and the game finally put all the starters in. With 2 minutes remaining, we went on a 9-3 run with the starers out there and won 109-95 but I never felt the game should of been that close.

Tmac ended up with 40 points in the game, most of which he picked up before the 4th quarter. Yao had 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Next up, a game I thought we would lose, on the road in Dallas.

One thing, Carl Landry cannot defend Dirk Nowitski, a few times he just laid off him and let Dirk have an open shot from the shoulder. Scola didn't fair much better as a simple pump fake got him off his feet and Dirk drove past him and dunked it down. Yao was the only effective defender we had against Dirk, tall enough to disrubte his shot.

In the first half, we took a 36-26 lead after back to back threes from Barry. I got Yao on a smaller defender with the pick and roll and gave him the ball, drew the double team and kicked it out to Barry for the threes. Dallas calls a timeout and the game takes Yao out and it disrupts our offensive and Dallas pulls within 2 on an 8-0 run.

Kept them under 31% shooting in the first half and we had 46% shooting in the first half but they had double our free throws and we only had a 4 point lead at the half.

The second half was terrible and I couldn't do anything about it. Tmac had dominated again and was drawing double teams and Luther Head was at the point, everytime I got a double team and looked for Luther, he had made a cut into the basket so instead of staying on the three point line and being wide open, he makes a cut when I make a pass and it easly gets intercepted.

Tmac did some impressive moves in the 3rd, he spun away from Jason Terry once and dunked it home, the next possession, he had Kidd one on one, I drove and did another nice little spin to the baseline and was able to get another dunk down.

In the 4th, we managed to build a slight lead, Tmac got into the paint and got the double team again, he kicked it out and Luther Head finally hit is one and only 3 to make the score 95-84 to us. They call a timeout and get a quick basket, I get it so Yao is being guarded by Kidd and get Yao the ball. Backdown Kidd and then he pulls Yao's arm and manages to get a steal and they pull the score within 3 before we call a timeout. We score two baskets and extend the lead to 99-92. Scola fails to guard Dirk again, who ends up right under the basket from an inbounds play with 21 seconds left, they have to foul, would of given the ball to Yao but he was the one inbounding it so gave it to Tmac, he nailed 4 free throws and we picked up the win 101-94.

Tmac has been explosive for me in the first two games as he had 47 points against Dallas. Yao had 23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks against Dallas.

Really disappointed with Ron Artest at the moment, everytime I try and get him involved in the game, he blows a wideopen layup I think he should get and I always think twice before giving him the ball. I found I didn't get much calls against Dallas, there were some plays where Tmac was getting knocked around and nothing was being called. Battier was slammed to the ground with nothing either.

Tmac has been a beast though, averaging 43.5ppg, might only be after the first 2 games but that is impressive, esspecially with one game on the road in Dallas.

Got OKC next, hopefully an easier game then Dallas and not as arkward as the Memphis game.
