    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I was using the Bulls but stop and changed to the Kings.

My record is 7-16. I lost Kevin Martin to a high ankle sprain for 2-4 weeks. John Solmons has stepped it up and is averaging 15 a game. Hawes also has stepped it and it seems like everyteam in the league has offered a trade for him.

      Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

18-12 now with the Suns and just recently made the same trade as the real life Suns and got Richardson and Dudley.

Right now I am considering pulling the trigger on this trade. Tell me what you guys think.

      Suns Get:
      Rodney Stuckey
      Rasheed Wallace
      1st Round Pick

      Pistons Get:
      Amare Stoudemire

I would benefit on the defensive end and it would clear the lane for Shaq. I would have a deadly 3 point shooting team with Nash, Richardson, Barnes and Wallace on the floor. And the most important aspect is I would get my PG for the future in Stuckey who is an absolute STUD!

Any suggestions on if I should pull the trigger?

BTW: Whenever I dive into the crowd for a loose ball going out of bounds, my player separates his shoulder. Has happened twice with Amare, once with Barbosa, and once with Richardson, who was playing his first game with the Suns. Out 2-4 weeks

Hill, Richardson, and Lopez are all out with injuries.

          Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

If I ended up pulling the trigger, I could have to hope an amazing FA came out in 2010 since I would have Shaq/Nash/Wallace contracts off the books. A backcourt of Stuckey/Richardson would be good for another 4-6 years and hopefully lure in a PF such as Bosh. Develop Lopez over the years and hopefully he pans out well.

I may need to think about this more.

You can keep up with my progress here. It's been an up and down season so far, but the trade for my boy Rudy Fernandez has already started paying off.

Just wondering? You did a fantasy draft right? Kobe must've opted out and signed with the Pistons right?

Your logic of having those contracts come off the books in 2010 is ok, but Amare is a beast in this game and is a keeper.

I wouldn't pull the trigger...build around him once the vets part ways.

I wanted to get the full experience of an actual association in 2k9, so I chose to go with 58 games. I think it was a smart move.

In my first season, I didn't make many moves. Sam Cassell grew upset, as I didn't play him very often, so I dealt him to Oklahoma City for a second round pick. Then I traded Glen Davis, Patrick O'Bryant, and a pick to Indiana for Roy Hibbert and D.J. Mbenga.

I finished 43-15 in the regular season.

                  Playoff Results
Conference Quarterfinals: BOS 4, PHI 0
Conference Semifinals: BOS 4, IND 0
Conference Finals: BOS 4, CLE 3
NBA Finals: BOS 4, NO 2

Note about Cleveland series: LeBron James was hurt through the entire series, and they still pushed me to 7 games. Pretty frustrating, honestly, but fortunately I was able to win the series and ultimately the title.

                  Offseason
                  - Picked up options on Rajon Rondo and Gabe Pruitt.
                  - Eddie House declined his player option, and I subsequently let him go so I could further groom Pruitt.
                  - I let Leon Powe go, as he was asking for too much money.
                  - Didn't hesitate to waive goodbye to Mbenga.
                  - Signed Joe Smith to a one-year, $2.95 million deal to fill the void Powe left.
                  - Signed Kevin Ollie and Lorenzen Wright to one-year, minimum deals to fill out my roster with a pair of veterans.

                  Roster
C: Kendrick Perkins / Roy Hibbert / Lorenzen Wright
PF: Kevin Garnett / Joe Smith / Brian Scalabrine
SF: Paul Pierce / Bill Walker
SG: Ray Allen / Tony Allen / J.R. Giddens
PG: Rajon Rondo / Gabe Pruitt / Kevin Ollie

I've yet to begin my second season, but I likely will play my first game or two later tonight.

Goals: Three-peat, get Rondo to an All-Star game, shorten regular season minutes of "Big Three" while finding extra time for Walker/Giddens/Pruitt.
Ouch...Powe gone...Why didn't you want to re-sign him? Seemed like a great player to come off the bench, or a 'Paul Milsap' option of KG ever missed significant time.

I see Kevin Ollie is still toiling around in 2010.

What was Lebron's injury that kept him out of the ECF? Would he have been available for the Finals had Cleveland won?

Also...who stepped up in his place, or started at SF and either way gave you trouble?

I am probably going to start a season with someone like the Thunder, and just rebuild from the ground up. Build around Durant and maybe get someone like Augustin to play the point.

Well im with the bulls, im now in the conference finals beating the celtics 3 0. The first 2 games where "easy" because the celtics in the two games the start very well with 12 0 run oir 8 0. But the two games finish with a 20 points win for me. The 3 game was the most fun because my team start very good, a lot of fastbreak point. But in the 2 half the celtics start looking more for pierce, allen and garnett and not perkins or rondo. They start hitting shots, i was near of lose the game but hughes in the last minute hit a 3 and take the game to OT. In overtime in the last celtic play of the game the teams are 112 bulls 111 celtics. Pierce 1 on 1 with deng the past me easy and make the 2 point. But is steal team in the clock for one last shot, i dont use a time and when i think that is all lost the celtics leave Deng free behind the 3 point line. I pass the ball to Deng, shot without hope of make the 3. But yes Deng make the 3 pt. The player of the game was Aldrige with 35 points (he is the resone of the bulls going to the finals). The other final is Spurs vs Hornets (Spurs beats Lakers and Hornets beats Rockets).

Well, I went 7-0 during the pre season on my Raptors chise. As I start the 2009-2010 regular season, the Boston Celtics begin the season number 1 in the power rankings. I start the season at number 12 in the rankings. I begin my title defence against the New York Knicks, who went 0-7 in pre season play. Also, I used my mid level exception to sign Robert Horry to a one year contract, which includes a no trade clause.

sorry this is long but in point form, I'm so into my association

                          Association Info

                          Timberwolves
7 min quarters on All Star (Only play about 5 regular season games and focus mostly on playoffs)

                          Association Goals

                          1. Try to establish an NBA Dynasty with the players from the Garnett Deal (Gomes, Jefferson, Telfair, all off limits to trades)

                          2. Get as many Euros (argentina, brazil and Canada count) and thugs as possible on the team. I especially don't want any individuals on my team with college degrees. I will tolerate Gomes (see above) but all you 4 year college guys, go help the economy and get a real job, this is the NBA. Ideal team will have all h.s. guys, euros and 1 and dones. I may break this a rule a bit though for the 1st two years

                          2008/09 Season
                          - Simmed entire season and tanked for a high draft pick. 20-62 Yes!
                          - Used development points on Gomes, Jefferson, Telfair, & Love
                          - traded Miller for Okur and other minor trades to get rid of any contracts
                          - Houston beats Cleveland 4-3 for NBA Title

                          2009 Off-Season
                          - Bought out Wittman and hired Ivaroni to run an up tempo offense
                          - Signed Jefferson to long term deal
                          - Won Draft Lottery, but after running a 5 on 5, I was not impressed with the top 5 projected picks
                          - Took a gamble (like the Celtics and pulled off a major deal)

                          Suns Get
                          #1 Overall Pick
                          Randy Foye

                          Timberwolves
                          #16 Overall Pick
                          Suns 2010 1st RD Pick
Steve Nash (now I know he has his degree, but he's int'l so its alright)

                          - Drafted a Serbian C, but the Hungarian C I wanted was taken by the Heat the pick before. So after Rookie Signing I traded the Serbian and a 2nd Rd pick for the Hungarian. Only 66 overall but A- potential and he loves shopping at Target.
                          - took another risk on vet and signed Iverson to a 2 year deal with a player option in the 3rd (this could screw me). But Iverson Nash Jefferson will hopefully be Garnett, Allen, Pierce
                          - broke my rule by also signing Juan Dixon to the MLE, but his aunt is the mayor of bmore and I love The Wire

                          2009/10 Season

Projected Depth chart in the Ivaroni run offense

                          Starters
                          C - Okur
                          PF - Jefferson
                          SF - Gomes
                          SG - Iverson
                          PG - Nash

                          Key Bench
                          Love (for the 5 & 4)
                          Brewer (for the 3)
                          Dixon (1 & 2)
                          Telfair (1 & 2)
Craig Smith (he has a degree so he'll only see like 2 minutes a game)

                          Projects
Hungarian C (forgot his name, but its sweet)
                          The tall Korean C

we'll see if giving up the future for two aging stars works out

                            Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I started a franchise with the Toronto Raptors and the first game was a barn burner. Jermaine O'Neal and Chris Bosh went off in the first half but the game was going back and forth. But I never gave up the lead after the first quarter.

Thaddeus Young and Elton Brand had nice games for the Sixers and the game was tied with under a minute to go because of a bonehead play I did.

So I got the ball down low to Chris Bosh and the Sixers tried to double team him, so I kicked it out to Andrea Bargnani who was wide open, and he supplied the dagger for the Sixers as he drained the 3 pointer.

The Sixers had their chance put Young missed a contested 3 with 7 seconds left. The Raptors won 80-76.

The NBA2K Patch Thread gets no love so I decided I'd post in here where I know my fellow association gurus like to go.

                              Sooo....

Post-patch has anyone noticed a drop in the ppg league leaders.

Pre-patch I was seeing Lebron James at 28.0 ppg, and guys w/ 27's, and 26's.

Now the leading scorer in my association is Kevin Martin at ONLY about 25 ppg.

I know that there was something done to lower the scoring in an attempt to rid the simmed games of the 125 to 117 final scores we would see, but has this adversely affected the scoring for those guys like Lebron who avg near 30 a game?

I haven't deleted my saved files for my 76ers association, but I started a new association w/ the Wizards - this one being much more mindful of when I train my players etc.

Played my 1st game after simming the first 16 to get to December 2nd...I lost in a home blowout to the Lakers; 124-100.

Haven't fired Eddie Jordan yet, but w/ a record of 6-11 and the 3rd worst team in the East AND after this 24 point home loss - He's done.

I'll post more on this new association, and I've written a more 'detailed' entry on my new blog...

Coaches can be fired during the season?
