Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
I am now 0-3 since I traded Shaq away. I kind of regret it now because Wally Z rarely plays, and Anderson Varejo sucks.
Also, the CPU gets to many damn offensive rebounds and it gets so frustrating.|Suns|Cardinals|Diamondbacks|Sun Devils|Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Guys, help me bring Chris Bosh to the Bulls.
So far I'm 5-6, and my post defense and scoring is sadly lacking. I've played 4 of the games, simmed the rest. I'm 1-3 in my played games. The breaking point for me just came against the Lakers, I got torched by Bynum and Gasol down low. I was going to wait things out, but I want to make a trade now.
I offered the Raptors combos of Hinrich, 1st round pick this year, and Ty Thomas/ Tim Thomas / Noah. They turned them all down.
I have Hinrich and Noah on the trading block. i have a straight up offer from Denver, Hinrich for Nene. So I tried bringing them into the fold.
Chicago gets: Bosh
Toronto gets: Nene, Noah (has a higher rating than Ty Thomas right now), 1st round pick
Denver gets: Hinrich
Denver turned that down, even though they were offering me Hinrich for Nene straight up, so I'm not sure why they'd turn down that deal.
Any ideas?Gotsta git moar better.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
I did a fantasy draft. I find I become too obsessed with realism when I use real rosters, so I decided just to fantasy draft it.
Currently I'm in the first round of the playoffs with my first place Chicago Bulls.
(I got lucky and had the first pick in the fantasy draft):
PG: Derek Fisher, Boobie Gibson
SG: Ray Allen, Mo Pete, JJ Redick
SF: LeBron James, Grant Hill (6th man)
PF: Rashard Lewis, Joe Alexander, Ed Najuara (sp?)
C: Marc Gasol, Dikembe Mutombo
We finished 52-30, I played probably half of the games. I'm going to play every game of the playoffs. Right now I'm against the Bucks who have Al Jefferson, Ben Wallace, Marion and Jose Calderon.Comment

Any ideas?
Chicago: Chris Bosh, Jason Kapono, 1st Round Pick (Denver)
Toronto: Nene, Luol Deng, Sonny Weems
Denver: Joakim Noah, Kirk Hinrich, 1st Round Pick (Chicago)
Chicago: Get your big man scorer in Bosh, but anytime you're trading for a player of Bosh's caliber, the team giving him up will try to package him with one of their bad contracts. So, you take Kapono off Toronto's hands.
Toronto: Toronto gets more of a bruiser and defender down low to pair up with Bargnani. However, Nene is not nearly enough for Bosh alone. Throw in Deng, and the Raptors have now found that 3 man they have been desperately lacking. Throw in Weems to make salaries match as well as giving the Raptors a decent SG prospect.
Denver: Replace Nene with Noah. That's definitely a downgrade but Noah's a very solid big man. With Hinrich they finally have someone to man the PG position off the bench, who can run the system and play D.
If Chicago has a worse record than Denver, then swap 1st round picks. This well help Denver move up a couple spots in the draft. If Chicago is currently doing better, then leave out the picks.
Hopefully this helps!Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
In the 3rd season of my assoc with the Heat. I lost to the Lakers in the Finals my 1st season went up 2-0 then lost the next 4. 2nd season lost in the 2nd round to the Pistons 1-4, Chalmers got hurt and it went downhill. Made some big moves in the offseason to try to get over the hump that included signing LeBron as a free agent.
Current Lineup
PG- D Wade
SG- D Cook
SF- Bron Bron
PF- D Arthur
C- Beas
6- C. Perry (2009 Draft)
7- Z (FA signee with LBJ)
8- Hernandez (2009 2nd rd who has turned into a monster)
9- Batum
10&11- 2010 Draftees dont remember the names off the top of my head
12- Chalmers (still injured from last season)
Right now I'm 4-0 deffinatly nice having LeBron and D Wade on the same team even though I have not been able to master Lebron's shot so I mostly drive and dunk with him. Hopefully Chamlers gets back soon so I can move D Wade back to the 2Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Just finished the season, 62-20 tied with the Cavs for the division title but it decided i was no.1 seed in the East and they were no.2...fair enough! Played 12 mins Quarters, every minute of every game, its been a marathon but i got there!
All the usual suspects seem to have qualified in both conferences.
First round i have the Bulls, ill play the opening game tomorrow.
Come on Detroit, bring it home! :wink:Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
I'm baaaaaaaaack
I've been on an NBA 2K9 hiatus, but I've hopped back on the wagon as of this weekend.
Why? Well...I wanted to that's why.No really, in all seriousness I've had enough of chainsawing Locusts on XBL w/ GOWII; I've been playing NCAA09 too, and I forgot how much fun both these games are.
So anyways...Started a new assoc. w/ the sixers.
I downloaded the latest 2K roster, and divided right except...What I wanted to do was simulate all of the franshise altering injuries which have occured. So w/ that in mind, after the day <SAY>Michael Redd, or another star who suffered a season ending injury went down, I dropped key Off. and Def. ratings to 50 so that their teams would no longer use them (this goes for Brand too...except I just placed him on my IR).
For guys like Monta or Dunleavy I started from the beginning of season, brought them back, and in Dunleavy's case dropped the ratings down again. Just so you know...I copied down all the ratings I wanted to change prior to editing.
Soooo....after taking care of all that I simmed up to my March 2nd game w/ NOR...OH...
Another thing I did too was make sure my record in my assoc. was identical to the real sixers record as of today March 2nd.
So I start my assoc. 29-29 and 7th in the East.
The 1st half against NOR was real fun. I had a slight lead after a timely 3 by Thaddeus to end the half 54-50. BUT...NOR had no answer for me in the 2nd half as I torched them. Outscoring them 50-34 to win 104-84.
Iggy dropped 40 to go along w/ 7 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl, and 1 blk.
Young added 21, and Louis added 17.
The way I'm doing my association is play one game a week - likely the toughest matchup, so my next game will be against LAL in LA.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Does anyone else play with the spurs and have problems with M.Ginobili. I give him 30-32 mpg(6th man) and he's pissed. His moral keeps dropping. Oh and R.Mason 27-30 mpg(starter) keeps getting more and more upset. Anyway I was thinking about trading one or both of them. R.Westbrook sure looks good but That would give me a short backcourt with Parker, Hill and Westbrook. Any Ideas or should I hold on to them and see what happens? I've simmed quite a bit and palyed quite a bit too. I'm 17-8 and I really like Manu and Mason but they are steadily getting worse. I was looking for the right thread to post this type of stuff. I was in the "Is this a good trade thread but I felt like I was getting off base. Why not keep them, face a little adversity in their morale, hopefully try to improve upon it, and maybe trade one of them in the final yr of their deal.Last edited by JBH3; 03-04-2009, 12:31 PM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Good idea, I want to do that. They both have 2 years left on their current deal. It's my first year. Also I just got 2k a few weeks ago(used to be a EA live guy). What is stamina and durability? It would appear stamina is how quickly you get tired in a game and durability is how tired you get throughout the season. Or is durability only injuries? I think Manu's Durability of 75 is really hindering me from playing him more minutes casue he gets tired or sluggish too quickly, then I have to cut his minutes. Anyway I was really looking forward to 2 years down the road when both Mason's and Ginobili's contracts are up. Not to mention a chance at D.Wade, Labron, Bosh or any of the huge names with an option or expiring contract that offseason. The only way I think I would get rid of either one of both of them is if I could get D.Wade or Labron now and a higher 1st rd pick than mine. Thanks for the feedback. Thoughts?Dallas CowboysSan Antonio SpursTexas RangersBaylor Bears Iowa Hawkeyes Texas LonghornsComment
