Def fix the on-the-fly substitution glitch. After having this work flawlessly in CHoops last year it's driving me up the wall!"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
***MY PATCH REQUESTS***
1. Field Goal percentages are generally too high. This can be fixed with more shots altered by collisions, or a general toning down of the shot success rate for both player and CPU, or both. Adding more mid air collisions is probably a very good idea.
2. Alley-oops and backdoor cuts: Im glad the computer throws them, but some teams(ie: New Jersey) get a bit rediculous with the alleyoops. The computer also abuses the backdoor cut. Many a replay I've looked at shows my defender standing motionless while the computer continually backdoor cuts(off the ball movement), leaving them open for the alleyoop, or the under the basket layup.
3. On the Fly Subs: When you make a substitution request with on the fly subs, and then pull the menu back up to add another sub, it completely resets, and you have to make the subs all over again all at once. It did not do this in 2K8, and its hard to make multiple subs 'on the fly' in the midst of the action like that. Also, CPU sub patterns need to be addressed so that we can definitively choose whether they sub on fatigue or rotation.
4. Im not holding my breath for a graphical patch, but some elements of some teams courts(ie: ATT sign on the Spurs court, and similair logos on other courts) are blurry beyond sense and reason. It really detracts from what otherwise is a very nice game graphically. I would love to see this fixed(XBOX).
Other things such as PA announcer saying the team is in the penalty after charging fouls, choppiness during intro videos, music cutting out occasionally in replay mode, freezing issues, online issues need be addressed and have been mentioned.Last edited by eko718; 10-15-2008, 05:04 PM.Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
no need for a video for these: lag when shooting the first FT that throws your timing off and awful framerate issues when using certain cameras such as the 2k cam
needless to say, these are huge issues that everyone's griping about and need to be fixed (and really should never have happened before the game was shipped out)Comment

Photo1
-ON THE FLY SUB SCREEN LISTS POSITIONS twice, once where it should be, and again in the FOUL collumn
Photo2
-COMPUTER TEAMS are set to sub by fatique, which results in almost half as many subs as they should be making. I'd like that option in the menus instead of having to go into the controller setup each gameComment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
Video Issues:
-2nd clip featuring fisher. This shows parker cutting off his legs. a true morphing or clipping issue. my fingers arent fast enough for the games animation base it seems. it seems only the cpu can get that full potential out of the game.
-around the 28 second mark, fisher throws the BALL THROUGH MY PLAYER. i swear this game is rigged in so many areas. if they want to throw a pass to a cutter, theyll pull it off.
-last clip around the 40 sec markshows Sasha driving, all is well until you see CPU teammate tim duncan with his hand in sashas face, LITERALLY, in his head.. this doesnt affect his shot at all. defenesive powerhouse spurs are defenseless in 2k9
and all that sort of clipping stuff listed here:

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
i hate when the pg passes th eball in the middle knowing the player will end up there like you showed in your vid Ruben. but when i try to pass like that my player just stops. Also one thing that needs to be fixed is the AI knowing that its teammate will get the rebound and go to its basket before anyone even grabs the ball and that always leads to a fast break dunk.Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
For the image above about on the fly subs, I think one of the positions is to show the player's own position and the other is what position they are playing in at the mo. That's why O'Neal has PF next to his name, but C in the other column cause he's playing at C.Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
Ruben posted my only two complaints, the on the fly subs showing position instead of fouls and CPU subbing by fatigue.
AFA the OP, i disagree unless you're playing on HOF. On that difficulty the backdoor laser passes are in full effect lol.Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
It's on All-Star too, that's why so many people are playing on Pro and juicing up the CPU offensive sliders. It may be even worse on HOF but I haven't even THOUGHT about touching that difficulty....that's for madmen only!Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
-Last year when doing on the fly subs you could toggle the control to auto, while you make really quick in-game adjustments and the CPU would temporarily take control of the action for you. Hopefully, that can be patched back in.
-Increase offensive and defensive 3 seconds calls (this was patched last year)
-Increase the responsiveness of raising the zone usuage slider. Right now even when raised I rarely see the cpu play zone.
Outside of what has already been mentioned, I really do not have much more to add.
This a very good game, the 2K guys did a good job trying to replicate the NBA in 2K9.Comment

I've seen foul numbers in that column, too...so maybe they don't go there until there's a foul? Or I was just hallucinating, or thinking of when I popped 2K8 in for a break from horror last night.Comment

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!
I hope they fix these things
1. Framerate issues
2. Online problems and disconnections plus lag on free throws. 5 on 5 is also virtually unplayable right now
3. Better stat tracking especially on assists. It seems to me like certain things are counted as assists that really aren't.
4. A few bugs and glitches here and there were the cpu will lose control of a player and dribble out of bounds.
5. There is also a bug i noticed where players will get stuck out of bounds sometimes.
6 I've also stolen the inbound and had the ball stuck in neverland sitting on the court and neither can pick it up or call a time out, and its basically just watch the clock run and run until it expires. There is no shot clock when this happens because neither team has the ball.
7. The fg% and pitp could be adjusted somewhat.
I completely disagree with Illustrator though. I completely understand what other people are describing to you, but you don't because you havent taken the time to learn how to play defense. You have to guard people and watch the play and anticipate who is going to be open and switch off between multiple defenders. You can't just guard one guy. They will screen and people will get beat if you do that. It's not that hard and I like this about this game. Please do not change that. That lay up you see where a guy swoops down the lane is because you aren't stopping it early enough. If you get there early enough you will start to see that you can stop it from happening all together or you will be there to make a play on the ball. I've been able to swat these shots, foul the guy etc, once i got up to speed on what the offense is doing. Learn how to play the pick and roll as well and keep the ball out of the paint as well.
Defense and the AI in this game is one of its greatest strengths. It might be overdone a bit, but if 2k makes this game into an iso guard one guy boring defensive game again (because of all the complaints of people that havent taken the time to improve) I will be upset.
It's the same with people complaining about the cpu blocking them too much. Dont throw the ball up right in someones face and you wont get blocked. Don't change these things. It's realistic and I like the challenge.Last edited by Walker8; 10-15-2008, 07:06 PM.Comment
