Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!

I have a few suggestions. I just played a game against the bobcats. I won and played very good defense. But the cpu basically had 14 backdoor plays and 9 allyoops. It was a virtual airshow. And when I contested or got there, I would be too late. In those situation it was an AUTOMATIC And1. ANd1 are ridiculous in this game for the cpu also. Most my problems that need patching are gameplay issues. Not being able to edit the rookies faces is kinda messed up and pointless. Whats the point of being able to change the eyes!? That need an Patch if it can be done... The Ghost layup/Dunk also defies the laws of physics when kobe can push thru solid 265 pound Nene and dunk the ball... That should be an automatic layup of changed shot.

Since User's can't do this layup, I wouldn't mind LeBron dunking every play when I play him once or twice if it meant Devin Harris couldn't brush Nene aside in mid-air like he was a baby.

I agree totally. I see the CPU get plays in the lane that I just don't get, mainly because of the issues with tight D that really restrict your movement compared to the computer's, but also on just regular blocks it seems like 40% of your Triangle/Y button presses will result in a foul for the CPU. I had to turn the computer's foul tendency up to 70 just to even fouls out for both teams at around 8 - 15 a game. That's ridiculous I'd have to skew a tendency that much to make the treatment of the CPU and User by the refs even. I feel the Dallas Mavericks guarding Dwayne Wade out there, I can't touch these people!

Aside from all the major obvious things, one little patch that was cool last year is the ability to get rid of the orange circle in replay mode by clicking LB+RB (360). That would be helpful again for all those who make videos.

After a week and multiple games. This game's AI is inherently broken and no patch is gonna fix it. It's just lazy programming. The last 2 days I used the Raps and played the Warriors and Pistons over and over just to see a pattern. EVERY TIME I play the Warriors I lose handily. On All Star, on Pro, on every reasonable slider set you can think of. I can only beat the Pistons on Pro, on all star if I win it's mostly because the Pistons are coded to go slower and not attack as much during that particular game but more often they are in berzerker mode too. but at least it's playable because they play half court game but try playing the Warriors who are rated in the mid 60's and they play twice as fast every time.

The midget Earl Watson slices thru Bosh and O'Neal in the paint like butter and then you get the animation where he goes so fast to the basket you can't even blink, it's indefensible. The guy gets 25 points and 15 assists every time. You play them tight they use lazer like passes thru 3 of your guys to a back door cutter before you can say "**** what was that", you play them loose or use a zone they drain 3 pointers like second nature. The funny part is when they hit the paint and I try to get my interior defenders to clog the lane I automatically get called for a foul and AND1 half the time. Both Bosh and O'Neal fouled out late in the 3rd. Whoever says they can easily beat the Warriors is lying. They had 70% of thier points in the paint. I don't even want to play the Suns. It seems the AI didn't code the the Warriors just to be alot faster but attack the rim at will just because they are a higher tempo team. You slow down the speed of the game and the animations get all herky jerky and if they wanna score they still will. Every game they have shot better than 60% (usually about 65%) FG and I was keeping other teams in the 45-50% range. For a perimeter team this is riduculous and any rare time they would miss 3 shots in a row some unbeleivable Off Reb would occur to keep the game out of reach.

This is the 1st game I have played in a long time where I honestly think almost every game is predetermined or handicapped against you in such a way you have to pray to win. Then you get 2 games where they play much slower and easy to beat then back to 3 berzerker games in a row. What you do has no influence. It's utterly horrible and I'm trading in on the weekend for FIFA 09 for my sports fix. At least there the gameplay has a realistic flow. I waited 2 years for this and skipped 08 and I'm pissed. I hope everyone here find a way to enjoy this game because I can't. When I lose I feel cheated not because I rushed my offense and got stupid on defense. When I win I feel it was handed to me. Either way I don't get any satisfaction so back it goes and hopefully I can get $30 with trade in.

Get the framerate running at a constant 60 because i have played some games so jittery that it actually made the game unplayable, inconsistent frame rate is just one thing i cannot tolerate in my sports games because it throws off my timing.

              17fps= a no no

P.s the slowdown must go also

Re: If There Is A Patch For NBA 2K9, Then These Things Need To Be In It!

I just want better collision detection or at least a slider like in last year's game. The various clipping issues are causing too many headaches.

I think that issue alone leads to a lot of the issues: high fg percentages (the game is not recognizing the proximity of defenders so it's like shooting a wide open shot every time); passes that literally go through opposing players which allow unopposed and easy layups/dunks to the basket....

Also, I dislike how the players stop after a pass even if they have a clear path to the basket. By the time you get them to move again, the defender has already recovered to block the path = miss opportunity.

And why can't I ever win a jump ball?
According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.

Dog can yall STOP all of the "Oh that isn't an issue for me. It doesn't need fixing," type posts whenever someone complains about a flaw in the game? So the hell what if you DON'T see it as an issue, so what. Let that man complain. Nobody is going to make up flaws in the game man. If you don't see the issue then don't comment.

With the jumpballs, it might be having the same issue with the first freethrow of a pair of freethrows. Lagginess of the framerate might be causing it to not react at the same moment as you press to jump. I've been button smashing right before the tip off and I've been winning.

                      Patch requests:

                      1. Add eye brows and shaded areas back to create-a-player
                      2. Add Coach mode back into on-the-fly settings (helps with picking subs)
                      3. Fix laggy framerates while any gameplay is occurring

FINALLY! THANK YOU DC! I've about had it with everyone quoting my posts and telling that it's just me or that I'm whining, etc... I agree, if you don't see the issue then move on. It's so funny because you would think that I was the only one complaining about the laser beam passes/cuts to the paint for easy buckets, yet Ruben Douglas has a thread with videos showing the issue. I bet people are still going to argue that it's not there even after seeing the proof right before their eyes...

That reminds me too, all of this crazy switching and mismatches after made baskets needs to be tightened up too. I am getting caught a little too frequently with my PG or SG guarding the CPU's Center after a made basket....

What are you talking about? it's not an issue remember. You just suck and your girlfriend dresses you funny, that's all. Actually I haven't played the game in a day or so. I may try going down to Pro because yeah, the laser passes (and alley-oops at times) are going to make me pull my freakin' hair out...In my last game I played against the Hornets and Devin Brown was acting like Chris Paul with a headband on, it was flat out sickening....I'll try playing on Pro and let ya know what I come up with...

I can't say I agree here. If you run over to the PG with the PG, the incorrect defender will automatically switch to the man that he should be covering.

I also disagree that the user can't do the "ghost layup." Now that I know what you guys are referring to I've seen it done online in a head to head game. So it is possible. Might be rare, but it is possible. And obviously that doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed... just bringing up that point.
