But sox, they could be unlockable through an achievement or a code... I mean, they allow you to edit every aspect of a player...Even in Association mode... They even allow you to edit players on another team... How cool is that while your in association mode?

All I'm saying is it's good speculation but let's just wait a bit.

Well DC, quite frankly bro your not being realistic then.. All gameplay for sports games need editing of some sort to suit the player... New Age Gaming!

Every aspect...except name and appearance. I'm not bashing the game, but it annoys me that this (and other games) can be so deep in some areas and so shallow or restricting in others...including directly related areas. I can't hire a decent coaching staff because the staff budget is low and locked. I can't add eyebrows to my player, can't auto generate features. All these were doable in last years game. Some movesets and gear (including shoes) have been removed. They have new flashy movesets, but you can't use them for your CAPs until they're "officially released."

My point is don't take options out of games and don't lock the new ones you add. Sports games in particular have been a step back for every step forward. I shouldn't have to wait until months after a game is released to be able to enjoy it. This is why I don't buy sports games at release anymore (if at all). You should get everything that's available on release (I'm not talking about late or new additions, but things clearly already partially available or limited in-game), IMO...not months later. Plus, for 2K9 I have to wait for some random "insider" -who's opinion means nothing to me- to decide to "unlock" these movesets. It sounded silly to me pre-release and it's just as silly to me now.

2K9 is a good basketball game, to be sure, but there are some goofy aspects to the decision making in it's development. Plus, IMO it's not improved enough to warrant a purchase. In fact, one could make the argument that it's actually taken a step back in some gameplay areas (not to mention the minor features I already mentioned). Oh well.

I thought the new animations would be created and "uploaded" based on what they did during the year THIS YEAR? why are they already on the disc?? did they try and pull a fast one on us here???

anyways, i decided to do what OP did and to my surprise i found three guys with "unique" dunk packages different from whats in the game at default.

dcallamerican, would be happy with the NONE catergory. more basic than a generic package.

Well, none of those were quite Kiss the Rim, but the Kobe 2.0 looked cool. As for the rest, they're not anything I'd personally want to change to.

I am with you - keep crap like this hidden. If I were at all interested in the dunk contest feature of the game i'd be all over this stuff.

It is in-game dunks like these, over three guys, that make me hit the power button.

I know it is only a matter of time before they have a guy blindfold himself while on a break just before he dunks it...... and most everyone will love it.

the dunks this year are well done, and not over the top IMO... But they are a part of the game that can be tune with sliders (only 2 or 3 clicks.)

You know in the NBA there are some explosive dunks that are dunks that can't be replicated unless you are playing in a game. Dunks that you would never do while foolin' around. Since 2k doesn't do those dunks well I just pretend that these "crazy" dunks are them.

I know that. It is the first slider adjustment I make every year - especially after watching j-rich go windmill over two guys on a fast break in game #1. When that stuff happens - I lose interest. I have been playing and watching ball for a l-o-n-g time and I sitting here I can think of maybe a dozen in-game dunks seen that made me truly say "no way in hell did he just do that." In the game, they are selectable dunks.

I know also that there is a market for this stuff and that is why it is in there. I simply agree with DC, I made the adjustments and that's it. To me, they will always be hidden.

Some of the rookies have those packages in there but if you change them they can't be added back. Im with DC and Arichzona. Most of the dunks are fine, but the problem to me is some of these dunks have no sense of a "REAL CLEAR PATH" not pump fake defender jumps and take two dribbles and its windmill city. It should be like on football games with highsteppin/showin off you cant do it if a guy is right on top of you. IF I am controlling Rudy Gay and i drive to the hole and i throw down a basic one hand or two hand dunk with force over a duncan I will be like DAMN! but if i drive down the lane and windmill on duncan asap i will change his package. So basially i dont have a problem with dunks in traffic its just the type of dunks and how often they happen. Also they need to stop given KG that Ridiculas windmill that thing looks terrible

Self-explanatory. The only issue I have with this package is the windmill. KG doesn't windmill anymore. I would rather give Stromile this package than KG.

I wanted to point out that some of these packages are now unlocked. For Example Dwayne Wade Now has Dunk 10, and Isomotion 4, Chris Paul has an awesome new set of isomotion moves listed as Isomotion 3. Upon scrolling through other styles, none were available(couldn't switch CP3 to isomotion 4) but interestingly isomotion 3 is not locked out. Others like Dwight and D.Rose have updates as well, and thats not all. NO love for CAPS though.

Also, if you attempt to switch to the new styles in an assoc.that was started b4 these updates, you won't find them.
