Anyone tried playing on Pro, post patch?

I might be getting on to something here. I've played a number of games with my own set of sliders, and the tendencies actually seem to work on Pro. As in, players will actually play like they're supposed to, instead of just cutting to the basket all night long. The only problem is that my games have been a little too easy. I REALLY like the mid range game I've been getting on Pro, though, it looks like a completely different game.

Edit: I've bumped up the shooting sliders for the CPU, and I'm REALLY getting on to something. I was playing against the Celtics and Paul Pierce and Ray Allen did make backdoor cuts, but instead of going for the layup, they went all the way and received the ball on the perimeter for a mid range jumper!

I'm amazed with the Pro difficulty level, and I think I'm sticking with it. After all, I can make the game more difficult by bumping up certain sliders if I find it too easy, or if the CPU keeps missing open shots. Pro seems to be the way to go this year, at least for me.

A lot of people have experienced a better game playing on pro against the cpu including myself(using my own sliders as well). The majority of my gaming is head to head or team up though.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I have also been playing on pro since the patch came out. I think it is more realistic than the harder ones because the cpu will not look to shoot close hitting cutters as much which lets them take more mid range. I just posted my sliders, they have given me a good challenge and realistic stats.

I refuse to play on Pro.

I'd probably have to bump CPU success on shots to 75 or up

I might have fallen in love with the game, after MUCH tweaking. I set the CPU mid range shooting slider to 50, as well as the 3PT one. Since then, I've found that the CPU will drop mid range Js on me all night if I don't guard their players tightly, and that's amazing! It's really changed the game for me.

I might drop the sliders to 49 to prevent scrubs from hitting many shots, but that's just a minor detail. I'm DELIGHTED that I finally got the game to play fundamentally solid basketball, instead of simulating rec centre pick up games.

          RE: TexasBorn

Or not. You see, I've noticed that with the sole exception of Rookie, difficulty levels are not really difficulty levels. They only change the way the CPU plays basketball.

My theory is that the higher you set the difficulty, the more the CPU will try to win the game at all costs, as opposed to playing realistic basketball. Thus, it will tend to forget about tendencies and such, in order to give you the most difficult game possible. By tinkering with sliders, you can make it so that you can still get a challenging game on Pro, but without all the cheesing, cheating, and generally unrealistic play that takes place on higher levels. Case in point, if you set the shooting sliders to a sufficiently high figure, you'll see scrubs draining contested shots even on Rookie. So the term "difficulty level" is a misnomer.

Now that is a superb explanation to anyone apprehensive about playing on a lower difficulty level.

I also play on pro because you get a more realistically statistical game. With my own sliders mixed with Youngs help defense theory (big ups), I have gotten some awesome gameplay.

Individual player tendacies shine through MUCH more on Pro level.

On the higher levels, I see the AI do crazy things just to score in the paint.

Playing against the Pistons on Allstar, the cpu controlled Iverson would often pass up shots to feed Kwame in the post. Even with AI's shot tendacy in the 90's.

The cpu is just held bent on getting in the paint on Allstar and above.

On Pro level, the player individual tendacies respond ALOT better in the games I've played.

I am also a pro-player. Pro is definitely the way to go.

I'm playing on Pro and enjoying this game a lot the since the patch. I don't see myself going up to another level either.

If I have to adjust some sliders to favor the CPU more and more, then so be it. Right now, I am getting some very competitive games and enjoying the game again.

Is the defense good enough on pro? Last time I tried it I just dominated with Greg Oden. Can someone post their sliders or link me to the ones that they are using?

Raise the CPU "Contest shot" and "On Ball Defense" sliders.

When I first got the game I played on Pro and then it became to easy so I switched to All-Star. A couple of nights ago I was thinking about what I was reading on this forum so I played a non-association game on Pro and I was blown away at the difference. I adjusted sliders as I went through the game and I feel like it just "plays" better at Pro. I really have the sliders in cpu favor. Last night in my association with the Knicks (no I am not trying to get LeBron!!, I would like to have Al Jefferson though) I was playing the mighty Thunder and Durant dropped 37 on me and hit a 3-pointer with about 24 seconds left to tie the game. Nate came back and hit a mid-range to seal it for me, but the game was awesome. That was the first association game I played since I went "down" to Pro. ( I spent a couple of days tweaking.) I really think Pro is what this game was designed to play on.

Amen! Pro is where it's at this year. I'm using nogster's game sliders (from way back in October) and will implement Youngs help defense setting.

I played 2 EPIC nail-biting games yesterday. I won one and lost the other. Either way D. Rose is a BEAST. I was sham'god'ing everybody and laying it in. They really went all out on his animations. He's a joy to use.
